I don't imagine this was so simple, the info in web shows varius ways to do that but to complicated, thank you so much

Yeah, back in the day you used to have to create a surface offset a distance like 0.001 to apply a different appearance.

Fantastic video on a feature which previously seemed to have very little info available elsewhere. Thank you!

Is there any way to divide surfaces based on sketches to make select-able subsets like one can do in Solidworks and Inventor? All I can find is advice to make a tiny thickness extrude but that can't be the cleanest solution

This is definitely helpful- I never quite understood why separate surfaces remained combined in the first place. I've recommended your videos to several colleagues!
Is there a way to split a single surface, such as a cylinder face, at a given plane or at a contour/ boundary? For example, I have a cylinder that will get a coating at one end and want to dimension to the coating. We usually will do a tiny extrusion and subtract material to create a visible line in the drawing that we can get a dimension to, but it creates a portion of the surface that is then the incorrect dimension, possibly creating an incorrect print if you dimension to the wrong surface.
Optionally, can you sketch on the drawing? I could just draw a line where the coating will be and notate it that way.

I would use a Cosmetic Sketch in the model for that purpose.

Hi ,Is it possible to count the number of surfaces from a solid model using creo ?

    • @CADPLMGuy

Yes. I believe ModelCHECK outputs that and also you get that information when you mesh a model for analysis.
