  • Okay! Here is the description I promised (sorry it was late)
this is the rotary Carver I use
    goo.gl/ScCD33
    And the diamond burrs
    goo.gl/kRJNyV
    goo.gl/TvgjSU
    goo.gl/1MxQy4
Also, the reason I wasn't wearing the RZ Mask is they have told me it has not yet been approved for silica dust, so until then, when I carve rocks, I will be using the 3M respirator.
Check me out on Instagram @bobbydukearts

Never thought about buying rocks, but I've collected many buckets of them just taking them from the gardens for the last 40 years. Seems no matter how many times I pick rocks winter frost pushes them up every year and tilling brings them to the surface. So after years of picking them up I've been sorting and polishing this winter. Now I'm going to try this! Thanks for the video ❤️ and the idea 🪨

Honestly, if I had the time, I'd find a river with a bunch of rocks and make a bunch of cool stuff like this with them and replace them back at the river once I'm done. Over time, I'd just have a cool river with a bunch of cool rocks.

    • @CytheriaXylia

Great video and great carving. I wonder about the decision to spray some kind of paint all over the final product? Now at 7:46, it seems you did sand the piece a bit....if it were me, I think I'd just continue with the sanding, polishing--using diamond grit sanding pads instead of carpenters sand paper. I'd have worked it up to 2000 grit or something, and no paint. Not to be critical, I just love the feel of stone and will only cover it in paint if there's some really strong convincing reason...again--great work!

I don’t know if I’ve seen a guy with the level of passion that this guy has to try to make every possible joke at every possible time. Regardless of how terrible it may be. It never ceases to amaze me at the fun rock carving can be. As well as what it does to the human brain.

Have a piece of Pleistocene mammoth ivory I've been saving for decades to carve into an Egyptian scarab for my wife. Have the Dremel micro-drill and a couple assortments of the diamond bits, but didn't know where to start. But you've given me inspiration here: just draw it, and do it! Appreciate your nod to Bob Ross, too. 🙂
