Jeremy's said it a million times in Top Gear magazine - he's mostly joking when he says he hates American cars. For instance, he really likes the Mustang.
This is what "new" Top Gear has never been able to capture, the emotions that cars can create. Playing in the engine note over the top of the music is pure goosebumps.
Could have been a little more factual though. "After not quite making the grade, he heard about...." He won Le Mans in 1959! He was a world class driver with an impressive record. The only reason he didn't go further, was because of the heart issues. He didn't know about them prior to racing. They started acting up, and he did his best to cover them up by secretly keeping a nitro pill under his tongue while he drove. It became too much, so he had to prematurely retire as a driver. Suddenly, finding himself with nothing to do, he decided to pursue his vision of the "ideal car" that he had been cooking up for years. (Pairing a small European Roadster, with big American power.)
Jeremy’s tributes are amazing, the way he explains it and how much he loves the subject brings me to tears. Even playing Forza 5 when u clicked on a car and Jeremy was explaining it, it was amazing😪
It seems the best of manufacturers all have the most humble of origins. Lamborghini started out making tractors, Toyota built machinery for the textile industry, Honda made bicycles, and the brand that made Fords cool was started by a farmer.

Papa Panya Before it was produced. You have any idea how long it takes to design a car as great as the GT350? It probably took about 10 years to develop.
Genuinely a timeless design and the most stunning mustang to me even in 2018. This platform really had the most soul ever in a mustang and in my opinion ford has STILL not been able to truly top it even years later.

3:13 no its not "lavishly equipped" the point of a Shelby is not to be the most luxurious car but to really make a connection with the driver. Driving it (even at slow speeds) you feel it and respect it. And from what I've seen, you can really do some crazy stuff with it once you get to know it.
This episode is the pride of Top Gear. Fun to see how the Mustang turned Jeremy around. You know all three of them loved that car but can only express it in a begrudging, restrained way.
Americans like cars very simple... they care about power more than comfort, unlike Europeans! A base mustang has 305 horsepower where as a BMW 328i for example only has 240 horsepower... In America BMW is $10000 more than a mustang! Shelby GT500 is a true muscle car it was never designed for great handling, but its a true power house
Sean Peterson You want to compare a small Mustang with a 328i? You might reconsider starting that argument, there is exactly no way you could win it ...
