Anyway, we honestly did not know until 10-15 minutes before the top of the hour that our customers were not going to have access to this interview (some movie came on instead) Those customers were MAD!!! They had every right to be mad and we couldn't give a good answer what was going on. Some customers had invited their friends over to watch (like you would a Super Bowl party). The next day we were sent an e-mail with an "explanation" that made no sense at all. Something to do with the contract concerning here book deal. It's funny now, but it was not funny at the time. Customers were calling in for DAYS complaining about it.

At the time this was happening I refused to watch any of it. That was nearly impossible and people would ask me what I thought. Here is what I thought at the time...why the big deal about an affair? Other Presidents had affairs during much more narrow minded times, so what was the big deal about this one? Now, mind you I can't comprehend this ability to lie so well and hide something that could devastate so many. I could imagine myself committing a crime of passion sooner than I could imagine committing adultery. Never been my cup of tea. But really, why the big fuss? It was the fuss that made me wonder why they couldn't find any other way to impeach Bill. Why this way? So I decided to watch this interview and look back. At some point it became obvious that maybe there was something of national security to discern. Bill had a big mouth and Monica had big ears and a big mouth. This was more than physical and it led to many phone conversations and emails. Did he confide in her what only his wife should hear? What only his advisors closest to him should hear? Those are legitimate questions. I just don't agree to make her into the fall guy and that he gets off scott free in the critique. But in no way is she innocent. I once asked a woman who had an affair with her boss once how she could do it. She said it was easy. She thought she was more special than any other woman, thought she had what his wife did not and could sit next to both of them during company Christmas dinners and know she was more special. Never once did she have values that kicked in to stop and go, "Oh, this is so wrong!" He ended the affair and later told her that the reason he chose her was she knew how to keep a secret and he knew that from the outset. That really got to her and she realized then she had been used. So even in her admission she still played the victim while admitting she was in direct, sober competition with his wife. Monica pretty much says the same thing in this interview. Only after the end of the affair and experiencing the devastation she was a part of and how this affected Hillary and Chelsea did Monica finally realize how wrong and sorry she was. I also watched her on TED where she talks about internet bullying. I get it. It is wrong and if someone makes a mistake and is truly sorry then they should be given the chance to move on. Monica is not the first or the last "other" woman to make such a mistake. Neither is Bill but I do wonder, did either of them have affairs after the fact like they did before the fact? Were they both truly sorry of what they had done and what that did to impact others or were they both simply sorry they got caught? This will never leave them. Anyway, we honestly did not know until 10-15 minutes before the top of the hour that our customers were not going to have access to this interview (some movie came on instead) Those customers were MAD!!! They had every right to be mad and we couldn't give a good answer what was going on. Some customers had invited their friends over to watch (like you would a Super Bowl party). The next day we were sent an e-mail with an "explanation" that made no sense at all. Something to do with the contract concerning here book deal. It's funny now, but it was not funny at the time. Customers were calling in for DAYS complaining about it.

I cannot believe all these people commenting on the fact that she was with a married man before?? SHE WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND HE WAS AN ADULT, WORKING THERE. What the fuck. Were the 90s this fucked up?
At the time this was happening I refused to watch any of it. That was nearly impossible and people would ask me what I thought. Here is what I thought at the time...why the big deal about an affair? Other Presidents had affairs during much more narrow minded times, so what was the big deal about this one? Now, mind you I can't comprehend this ability to lie so well and hide something that could devastate so many. I could imagine myself committing a crime of passion sooner than I could imagine committing adultery. Never been my cup of tea. But really, why the big fuss? It was the fuss that made me wonder why they couldn't find any other way to impeach Bill. Why this way?
So I decided to watch this interview and look back. At some point it became obvious that maybe there was something of national security to discern. Bill had a big mouth and Monica had big ears and a big mouth. This was more than physical and it led to many phone conversations and emails. Did he confide in her what only his wife should hear? What only his advisors closest to him should hear? Those are legitimate questions. I just don't agree to make her into the fall guy and that he gets off scott free in the critique. But in no way is she innocent.
I once asked a woman who had an affair with her boss once how she could do it. She said it was easy. She thought she was more special than any other woman, thought she had what his wife did not and could sit next to both of them during company Christmas dinners and know she was more special. Never once did she have values that kicked in to stop and go, "Oh, this is so wrong!" He ended the affair and later told her that the reason he chose her was she knew how to keep a secret and he knew that from the outset. That really got to her and she realized then she had been used.
So even in her admission she still played the victim while admitting she was in direct, sober competition with his wife. Monica pretty much says the same thing in this interview. Only after the end of the affair and experiencing the devastation she was a part of and how this affected Hillary and Chelsea did Monica finally realize how wrong and sorry she was.
I also watched her on TED where she talks about internet bullying. I get it. It is wrong and if someone makes a mistake and is truly sorry then they should be given the chance to move on. Monica is not the first or the last "other" woman to make such a mistake. Neither is Bill but I do wonder, did either of them have affairs after the fact like they did before the fact? Were they both truly sorry of what they had done and what that did to impact others or were they both simply sorry they got caught? This will never leave them. This will follow them the rest of their lives. The difference with them is how public it is. If anything good comes out of this then I hope it would be that anyone thinking of having an affair or is already in one, stops and thinks about the impact this is having on not just them but others.
