Monica choosing not to look like a 'victim' is a breath of fresh air tbh. It seems she doesn't want to just victimize herself but wants to bring the imbalance of accountability to the forefront.

She wasn’t some sort of temptress as she was eventually portrayed to be, if she has no authority to exercise. If she was the only one interested and he wasn’t, he has more authority to separate her from him and bar her from working there, or even assert his disinterest and cite his presidency as the reason why. Sarah Paulson, I think does not understand Linda Tripp’s strength of conviction, patriotism and integrity painting her instead as broken, disgruntled; a sore loser w/ a chip on her shoulder. I doubt she conveyed Linda Tripp’s real motivations, on screen because of that communication road block. Also the script probably does not include Linda’s encounters w/ other women who did not see his perversions directed
at them as consensual at all. An imbalance of power does indicate duress/coercion from the more powerful party and ‘does’ in legal terms quash consent. The fact that Monica still doesn’t quite fathom that Bill Clinton used and abused her, while Linda saved her is disconcerting. If Linda had not lead investigators to the semen stained blue dress, she and Monica would either be mur***ed or imprisoned is a reality that I think Sarah Paulson, the show’s creators and purveyors are blindsided to, still; sadly.

It seems to me that Lewinsky romanticized her "relationship" with Clinton. It's hard to believe Clinton was ever romantic towards Lewinsky. As for Linda Tripp, she was just jealous, bitter and self-loathing. Lewinsky learned the hard way how valuable discretion is. She just couldn't keep her mouth closed (pun intended) and made it so easy for Tripp, who hated Clinton more because he was a Democrat who deprived her boss of a second term than for what he was doing with Lewinsky. It ate her up inside, literally. If Lewinsky is hoping this story will gain her much sympathy, I doubt it will. It's been 25 years and she's made this episode of her life her career. It's sad, really.

@@lenac3587 oh I think that is very unfair. She had said nothing and tried very hard to remain Out of the public eye for 10 years. Then she saw a very sad story about a young man who committed suicide because of cyber bullying. One of his so-called “friends“ outed him for being a homosexual and it flew all over the Internet to everyone who knew him. This was the catalyst for her public speaking today, not necessarily about her affair, but to fight cyber bullying. Remember, the Internet had just gotten its legs when all of this happened to her, so in reality she was the first person to ever experience cyber bullying.
Bill Clinton was a womanizer, and he was very good at it. Gennifer Flowers, Juanita Broderick, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willy, numerous students when he was a professor at the University of Arkansas, Leslie Millwey, Eileen Wellstone, Sandra Ellen James, these were all women who had accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault and even rape before Monica Lewinsky. But it was before there was an Internet. With Monica, it basically went live. The Internet followed everything real time, so hers is the name that is remembered more than any of the 10+ other women mentioned above. And she is still suffering from cyber bullying. You just did it yourself. So that is her relevance today, fighting cyber bullying and in truth she is one of the best examples of it out there.

Just watched Monica's Ted talk. One problem with her views. She is saying that actions should be followed without consequence. However, like Einstien said, what goes up, must come down. A balance in the universe. Science, physics doesn't support her notions.Plain physics. consequences always follow actions. However, the message should be, have that network to support you and nuture it. You will need it one day. And, choose your actions carefully. BtW she did go from a private figure to a public one, but again, she chose a public figure, a high profile one at that, and hence she paid the price for that

And it's considered especially egregious when it's with a young intern. Hey, I don't make the rules.
