I agree with Stevie so much when she spoke about the nighttime routine. When I was younger, I felt the need to "Night night, Love you," to my mother. If that didn't happen I'd feel as if that was my last possible chance to say it and they would be killed that night. Sometimes it would bug me so much that I cried, and other nights I'd have to get out of my bed, hunt them down, bring them back to my room and hear it there. :/ I wonder what it is about people that make them do that.

My uncle tom broke a mirror on july 21st 2003 and for 7 years, things were bad for him. He lost his job, his house and his wife (my aunt Stephanie) left him, and he was hit by a car which left him in a coma for 6 years. On July 20th 11:59pm 2010, he woke up and whispered "rosebud" and died on july 21st at 12am which was almost exactly 7 years after he broke the mirror.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. "The absence of proof is not the proof of absence". Don't go around saying that things do/don't exist or are/aren't true when you can't prove your point. Proving that something doesn't exist isn't as easy as snapping your fingers.

To at least one of my parents, I'd either have nightmares, have a restless night, or get stuck in a bad dream and be incapable of waking up. So in that case it became a superstition or routine that if I didn't do it the same way every night my brain would learn to "punish" me for not sticking to the routine, but thankfully I grew out of it.

And yes, Hatians practice vodoo, that's actually their national religion but not in any way do baseball players associate themselves with any vodoo traditions or superstition. Our superstitions, as a nation, (Dominicans, not Hatians) are pretty much the same as the common European and American superstitions. Lol Rhett is making us look like wizards or witches. Big fan! Been watching you guys since season two of gmm.

Also if a team is winning, they tend to to shave (e.g. The "Bearded" Boston Red Sox championship team last year). Also if you were you do something different before a game and preform over par, that "different" activity tends to turn into a regular event.

I think that most superstitions have just come up from someone training their children badly really badly! Someone threatened their child like: "Don't brake that mirror you will be unlucky for 7 years." Then they were thinking like: "I fooled ya, breaking that mirror has not to do with bad luck." Then the child told everyone of his/her friends and the parent of that child did not correct that he/she was fooling his/her child. And with walking underneath ladder...someone just had bad luck when they walked underneath ladder and then happened some sort of domino or snowball effect and now everybody believes it.
I dont belive in superstisions but one time i was in the car with my friend and her dad was driving us to an arcad and a black cat crossed the road her dad did not see it and the black cat got ran over bad luck for the cat though lol
