Hi James, Do you ever get squirrels in your yard? When I planted spinach in my garden, the squirrels ate ALL OF IT!!
You should mention turnips and potatoes. I’ve had potatoes grow through the winter and come up by themselves and I’m in south jersey.
TATSOY, SWISS CHARD, LETTUCE, ARUGULA Ice Bred, KALE Russian, MIZUNA, CLAYTONIA - Minors Leaf, MUSTARD GREENS lady murasky, CILANTRO & PARSLEY, SPINACH giant winter. Yukina Savoy, Mache
Thanks for posting this. I can never remember them. ❤
Blessings to all!
Tuck melts my heart. I have a Morkie and I just love her. These little dogs have the best personalities. Sending you love, Tuck.❤
I'm over in Maryland so I'm here for the local-ish knowledge but I stay for this guy's amazing gardening enthusiasm.
I love your videos, James-- great content, so direct, to the point. Great descriptions of plants and growing conditions. Tuck is so cute! What a sweet garden helper! 🌱🐶♥️ Thank you 👍
You’re welcome! And thank you for having such kind and encouraging words for me and the little boss! 🐕😁❤️
Talks 10 sentences before gets to what he says, probably why he talks so fast to cram it all in 😂
Awwwwww....TUCK !!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Sometimes I just hit the like button...don't even need to watch the whole video. The intro is awesome. 😂 Hi Tucker!!!

Thank you for showing us your food forest! I like seeing the updates you’re giving. Now, I want to start a sort of food forest myself.
OMG, 90 here! You're so happy about 15 degrees!!
Let's go! Zone 7 here. 70+ degrees today! Hard to believe winter's coming. All the best to James, Tuck and all subscribers to the channel.
Zone 6a here in Central Ct. 66 Degrees now. We got a very cold snap couple months back. Covered our bush string beans and they produced enough for 2 adults 3 side dishes. My red pepper container plant gets covered some times. Chinese cabbage first year for that we did a fall crop. Still have carrots in the ground and in a pot. Putting the garden to bed. Used DIY compost and chopped maple brown leaves looking forward to planting seed in Feb. inside w. full spectrum light.
i love Tuck! He is a sweet little boy!
Ok, James! I’m so into greens! Just got my copy of “Year-Round Indoor Salad Gardening”. Written by Peter Burke/Vermont gardener.
Growing greens without grow lights, in very small trays filled with compost/kelp additive. Incredibly easy for daily salads.
I’ll let you know how it works in addition to my newly established cut flower stand!
I’m collecting neighborhood pumpkins to add to my compost right now. A neighbor brought over a wagon full yesterday. Yes!!!!

Love your “people gotta eat”…I’m connecting with some affordable housing seniors to broaden their food horizons. Funny thing is…I’m way older than they are! And they are so intimidated by the “rules”.
I’m originally from San Diego/retired Montessori teacher and soooo into not being told what to do!!!! 🌺💃🏼🌺
Such a great video. Love Tuck!!!!💙💙💙💙
I learned by accident that kale is winter hardy when I went out back in December here in Michigan, about a month after a ten-inch snow and discovered to my surprise that the Scarlet kale was still alive and going strong! 😮

❤❤❤❤❤❤Thanks for enduring the heat, Tuck.

Recently moved to zone 9B, where fall and winter gardens do well. Building a container garden, and one of your covered bed designs to keep the veggies happy during the very short freeze season. So happy to be gardening again and trying out many of the methods you teach! Thanks, James and Tuck!
❤❤❤❤❤❤Tuck is so cute!!
It is very hopeful seeing such a harvest in November and on! I would love to see how you like to prepare these veggies (the dark greens and brassicas) for everyday meals. I love all the new varieties!
I _hate_ the taste of mustard plants, but mizuna is pretty enough to grow on its own! Like a green flame emerging from the soil in that one shot.
Tuck is adorable!!!!
Nice Video! Yes, we are going all that here too in Southern California 😊
Once again, a video FULL of great information. Thank you so much James! And thanks for naming varieties. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have a 4 year old Swiss chard plant, the stalk is huge, like a giant beetroot! Great plant! Love to Tuck! ❤🩹
Hi! How did you get it to live for 4 years if they are biennial? I would love to try get one or more to live long. What climate are you in? Thanks for sharing!
I already have my tatsoi, kale and mache planted!

kid, I've learned more useful information from your videos than 12 years of school
love seeing you and Tuck!
❤️❤️❤️Love ya Tuck
As an Alaskan i know some of these might not grow all winter. However, I've grown amazing kale, rhubarb, lettuce and many types of herbs up here. This might surprise some, but in my experience, the lettuce lasted the longest. I was picking leaves off my lettuce plants well into September.
Lots of useful information on this channel. I'm new but I'm loving this
Amazing as always! ❤
Love the energy

Thank u very much James ,I learned a lot from your video.
Wow looks amazing like always! Great job! Loving Tuck ❤❤❤❤
James, I'm on a gardening adventure in zone 7, Southern Middle Tennessee. I worked on preparing containers this past week. It's been really warm and it looks like it could continue for a little longer. I bring in a few pepper plants to over winter. I am so glad that I learned how to save them. It gives me a great head start. I purchased some sad plants yesterday. I asked for a discount because they looked so bad. Ask and you shall receive. It worked.🙂 I got collards, chives, red romaine, and cabbage. I will put the lettuce and chives in pots and keep in my sunroom. I'm wondering about feeding fall and winter veggies. Can you give any advice on this? Thanks so much to you and Tuck ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
I do know that many beyond OG or permaculture growers just do 1 or 2 applications of compost per year. See Charles Dowding vlogs. He's not growing in pots, but ... .
Sounds like you have a great start! We just moved to zone 7 in Arkansas and hoping to have success with an organic garden. My seeds didn't make it, so maybe I'll find a nursery with some organic plants already established.
Great indeed. Well done
Thank you 😊 Love Tuck
Miners lettuce grows wild where I live in Northern California. Ty for the info! ❤Tuck!
❤❤❤❤Two of my favorite guys!❤
Awesome. Thank you for sharing & caring.
I love pak/bok choi and peas this time of year. I still have some Rainbow Chard rockin' out in a raised bed.
