I like the anodized best. Which ever one is least likely to scratch or chip is fine with me though. Both look good.
Keep bringing us all the cool stuff. Doing a great job.👍👍

Good video like always guys and thank you for mentioning Aircraft tech’s. Just one thing (most if not all) aircraft don’t use metric and I have never seen an E Torx either on an aircraft. We mostly use SAE 12 point and at least 75% in 1/4 drive. But great tools and keep it going guys. Thanks

My next purchase are those dual-drive universal sockets 👌 what a great idea, way to think outside the box! I was wondering if you’d make a whole set??!! Super-glad! It would have been a waste otherwise… SAE possibly? I’ll buy if you make 👍

Hey VIM, love your products! Genuinely curious as to why we arent doing ALL the UJ sockets as dual drive? Love the idea and wish they were all UJ. Heck, I THINK yall were doing some manufacturing for matco on their SAL38... If not, I'm gonna need yall to do a set like that! Haha! Keep up the great work!

I would buy a wrench extender with a telescoping handle and swappable heads (wrench extender, breaker bar in 1/2 and 3/4 drive, etc.). Please Make It!

    Hello Vim Tools
I just found your channel and subscribed. I didn't find it boring at all!!!! And thank you for mentioning us Aircraft Mechanic's. Now I have to go to your website and check it out. Unlike the automotive guys. I need my sockets in twelve points and SAE. Usually there is no metric hardware as of yet.
Question for you, do you have something like the Koken Nut Grip Sockets? Lost tools and parts are a major issue for us. This is a safety issue! Again thank you 😊

Thank you! Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Yes, we do have a very similar product. vimtools.com/product-category/tool-organizers/socket-rails/
Although I do recommend you take a look at our magrails... fun fact, the magrail was actually invented by an aviation mechanic! they're the lowest profile rail you'll find in the market and there's different options for pegs. check out our episode 10 on tool tuesdays, you'll find a lot of info about 'em.

Is there any chance y’all will start putting all your sockets on a rail or in cases? I like the 1/4 drive set, but I would prefer a case for on the go. Or I just put them on socket trays. I may be in the minority (most likely am)m but I don’t care for the foam trays. I feel like they take up too much room, at least for my taste.
Also, they’re called E Torx (external) because the socket goes around (the external part) of the fastener. A regular torx goes into the middle of a fastener (internal).

The foams are one of those things where some techs love it, some really don’t, both for fair reason. But the foams are much more economical than the rails for packaging. We use the foam because it presents well and can be taken out of the box and brought wherever it’s being used (thicker than the avg so it doesn’t flop and bend) plus it keeps the price of
The set lower than a rail would. But we do this knowing we have our magrails separately and anyone who doesn’t mind paying the extra for the rail has access to putting everything on one.

Appreciate the reply, Luis. That makes a little sense when you put it that way. Like I said, I just prefer the blow mold case cause it’s easier to take around. May still pick it up. Don’t really “need” it, but it’s a damn nice set.

I like your rails, but you need to also put a magnet strip on bottom of rail. They fall over in your box. Put them in a box, then start opening or closing the drawer..unless they’re wedged together or against something they fall over.

    • @vimtoolsinc
      @vimtoolsinc  Год назад

with respect, are you sure those are our rails? All of our rails are magnetic on both sides. They're strong enough to hold through liners of the tool box and most definitely should not fall over like you're describing. we even have a demo video of tool box drawers being slammed and nothing moves. check out episode 10 of Tool Tuesday (about 11 min in).

Btw, you guys should mention that S2 steel is great to replace chrome and impact sockets, probably not universal joints I suppose 🤔
The reason I mention it is that I have some Vim locking extensions that are S2 and, unlike chrome (chrome vanadium)extensions, they are impact gun safe 👌
“S2=Cr-Mo+Cr-Va Do the math, save the money.”

You guys come off as so smug 😂👍 it’s okay though because Vim makes great tools at a great value, I’d be smug too if I sold such a great product. I own most of the Universal joint sets mentioned and they are solid 👌 I have have to warranty an item (doubled in set 🤷‍♂️) and it was a simple phone call and problem solved, that is my kind of company 👊

Also..the foam looks great, but it’s not practical in a mechanics box. I’ve told my snap on dealer the same. Why lay sockets down? They take up more room laying down because you lose the cubic inches..sockets and any type, should be stood up to to take advantage of cubic inches in a drawer, not just the square inches.
