@Ricardo's Workshop I noticed a while back that the as built data on motorcraft now reflects the modifications I made to my '22 Superduty. They have in fact overwritten the original as built with my truck as it had been modified. I'm not sure if this is related to some issues where OTA updates were not able to be pushed through to some trucks, but perhaps they updated the server info to assist in that patch. NO idea, but without the saved factory file from new, this isn't possible now - or at least for some newer trucks.
Yeah I’m wondering if that’s why my 2018 won’t revert back to as built…👎🏼👎🏼
I know its been 2 years ago on this video, my question is if you download the as build data file *.ab where would I place it so forscan can load it?
Mate........I am grateful for you teaching me. A big thank you
Hey Ricardo, Thanks for all the helpful videos on Forscan!!
My question is can’t you just save the actual OEM modules on your computer before making any changes?
Couldn’t you have an OEM file and a MOD file, for example, of the same module? This way you put back 100% was loaded into your vehicle.
I do like having access to the OEM as builts from Motorcraft.
Thanks again
Getting the As Built Data only works for Newer model Fords as I have an 2001 Taurus and I use the OBDLINK EX also , it will not retrieve the file from Fords Service, and after watching this video I tried again and I still can not get it to get the file and I've been to forum but once again unless you have a 2010 up know one knows anything frustrating, I have started using OBDWIZ and it seems to do better job than Forscan does on older vehicles !
Great videos I subbed. Do all your forscan mods work with a 2017 raptor? Also why do you use the old sync 2?
I believe they do. 2015 F150s came with SYNC2
Super helpful! My Ranger has been acting weird since I changed some settings so I’m restoring it as I watch this!
i saved the original OEM/stock config file in Forscan before I changed anything on my truck. Is there a way to reset the whole truck to stock/as built at one time from that file, or do i still need to change each module one by one? Thanks!!!!
Bro thank you so much. Will save this as a weekend project.
Hi Ricardo. Thanks your helping me a lot. Do you have some for scans for the 2021 powerboost ?
2021 F150?...not yet. But I'm sure we'll see it 8n a while.
Hi Richard, we like your work. We have a Mazda bt 50 3.2ltr turbo diesel that has a 6R gearbox automatic transmission. Last OBD2 code we got is P1636 stating that the PCM has lost come with signature chip. Can you explain what may have caused it to throw the code and how we can fix it. Do we buy a new PCM and replace it? The transmission has a few issues like hard shift into gear and most times when an attempt to drive up a hill, the vehicle can't move at all in gear.
Hiya Ricardo, you seem to be a guru so I have a question for you, 2013 kuga, replaced dpf because it was blocked, ran it through forscan and all the closed loop data is now reset, what I can't reset is dpf_load_ld which is the open loop algorithm calculation within the pcm and is reading at 302% causing the engine malfunction light and limp mode. Tried adaptive resets, reset the pcm, this little bit of software is resisting all resets. Any idea on how to reset it, it's a learned value at the end of the day
If i upgrade the firmware of ecu (pcm for example or bcm does the ecu need new as built data or new configuration?
I have a 2016 Shelby F150. I need to return the drivetrain pcm to “as built”. Forscan immediately recognizes my VIN, but lists my truck as a 3.5L turbo (ecoboost) when it should list as a 5.0L. I’ve heard this is a common default for vehicles with Whipple calibration. My concern... if I flash to as built, will I be loading the data for the ecoboost, or for the correct engine?
Check to see what Motorcraft shows, then compare it to the as built
Hi i do have a question, so i have an issue with my TCU on my 2019 ford ecosport, for some reason the ford pass wifi has been disabled and says its not installed anymore.
Anyway i purchased forscan, went to check the as built data using forscan and it was completely different to what is currently in the TCU.
I cant work out why this would be different? So i haven't done it yet.
When the old module has had software updates from ford would this change the as built data? Does the as built data on motacraft site contain any updates? Or do software updates have no effect on as built data? Thanks for reading
When programming how do you determine what each number stands for. When i open the bcm its a bunch of Decimal boxes how do you now which box represents the mirrors. Thanks
Hey Ricardo, love your vids. I have a 2018 F150 limited edition with bumper to bumper premium care extended warranty until 2026. Will forscan void my warranty?
I've heard that it does not vñid warranty. But they can and could use it as an excuse. Now, you can always revert back to factory settings if need be.
Thanks for watching!
Hey Ricardo. I’ve tried to revert my pcm back to factory but I get error message “ number of blocks doesn’t match module “. Any ideas?
I have a DTC code P0630 pop up and not leaving even after the PCM factory is loaded back. Not sure what to do, do you know anything about it ?
I have tried to get forscan to program as built data it fails on older model fords I'm using the EX obd plug it says that it's a different format, working on 2001 Taurus 24v Duratec so that update must only be for last 10 year models not really sure and I paid for a year someone said there's a lifetime? I've been loading AS BUILT using NGS CLASSIC this was the org scan tool for Ford made by Hickok T shape w/PCMCIA cards pain having to input each line of data 12 lines multi inputs for each line anyway great video just wish it work for older fords !!!
Question I need some help with that hopefully you can answer. I have a 2013 Focus ST. I changed to a Sync 3 system that was supposed to be pre-programmed. The voice buttons no longer work. Can I load factory Sync 2 as-built into Sync 3?
Very Helpful, is that process name " reflash PCM"?
Hi Ricardo, I installed a Pioneer Radio and somehow don't see my AMC module on my 2017 F150 anymore. Can it be re-install using forscan? Thanks
Is there a way to turn off adaptive learning for the transmission? After towing 600 miles my truck will shift hard or miss shift into 4th
Log lights wont turn off which module do i reset to factory? Ventilation seats wont work but lights on when pressed button which module do i reset
So if I have a 2021 Bronco Big Bend. I go to the motorcraft website enter the VIN. I can download my AS Built? While in ForScan I can click on each as built module and load factory defaults?
Hey Ricardo I'm new here , my ford 2017 limited edition starts to have transmission kicks in the morning is usually so bad that even bring the truck in to the limp mode , I heard they have a permanently fix for this if you update the firware in a ford dealership, is that a way to do this update through the forscan ?
Hello, I am trying to load Factory AsBuilt Data onto my TCM using forscan, I’m getting a pop-up message “sorry, the factory As-Built File doesn’t contain information about this module” please help
so this will reset all changes I've done with foescan ?
I install different version of forscan and none show me the Load factory AB
im about to replace an ecu in a 2009 ford ranger Australian model thats the 3L turbo diesel. im going for a second hand ecu so im gambling on it not having an immobilizer for starters,(2 types mine is without immobilizer) say it does and i cant start the vehicle. , could i use this program to save my old ecu settings on to file. and load then write them onto the new ecu?
Will the ab file work on all as built modules?
Have a 2020 f150 stx want to add center dash speaker plug is there but I can’t figure out how to enable it are you aware of what to change ? Thanks
Yes... should work. It's a setting in APIM
@@ricardosworkshop hello I need help my forscan do actually do the changes I try to do for example like change my screen it don’t change it stays the same .
Hey, I was resetting my transmission adaptive tables since my truck was shifting poorly when cold, after I did that, I got the code P0630, VIN not programmed or imcompatible. Is there a way to load back the original data or take it back to dealer?
You probably could but need to know ifits more than one module.
What did you end up doing? I have the same issue
What if my pcm had no data store can I use the forscan to get my truck back running?
great video. Keep'em coming
Any idea if I can replace my pcm and do what I need to do using forscan?
Yes just save your current asbuilt, and load that as built to the replacement pcm.
Thanks I lost some of data and now I can go back yto factory
Keep up the good work.
How do you program ACM? Is it the same procedure?
I have a 2012 Ford F150 4-wheel drive it has a place in the dash 4 trailer brakes what do I go to to activate the trailer brake control or is it already activated if you could show me something to go to activate it I sure would appreciate it
Richard I have a 2012 Ford f150 4-wheel drive and we hooked it up the other day it's got a bunch of errors in it and we don't know how to get rid of the air so we can run scans on it if you have anything to help I sure would appreciate it
Did you fix it?
Hope you can help me. I loaded Forscan on my computer and went in and changed the Double Honk value. I don't think I changed anything else. But now I am getting a error message on my dash when I start it up "steering assist fault" and I have no power steering. Do you have any idea what might have happened and how I can correct this?
Did you fix it?
i get an error saying No vin found when trying to load factory as built
What to do if i don't find the AS BUILT DATA on the web site? Anyone?
That's pretty nice.
Man you the man
Great video!! I do have one issue with my Forscan hopefully someone can help me. I just got a 2019 Ford escape and I was looking at how to disable the auto start/stop. One way I found was through the BdyCM central configuration, however, FORScan prompted that I had to download an SBL file, which I did. Then when I tried loading it, about 70% of it, it stopped and said the action was not completed. This then caused a check engine light and an error saying "engine fault service now." Everything seems to run and work just fine besides the error as well as now the vehicle will not remote start via the key fob or the app. After I got this check engine light even though I didn't manually change anything on any other module since I wasn't exactly sure what the central configuration did, I started to go through most of the As-Built modules and load the As-Built data. However, after doing this to about 2 of them I got an error on forscan saying it wasn't able to load the As-Built data or something like that. So then I decided to stop loading the As-Built data on the rest of the modules. So far I haven't found anything to fix my issue. If anyone else has experienced this or knows a way to fix this issue, that would be much appreciated. Otherwise, I guess I will be taking a trip to ford, and hopefully, they could fix the problem.
You can recover the corrupted data with dealer sw
Thanx
