I talked to you earlier today and I looked in my library of craft books and guess what I found. I had bought a book on polymer clay and guess who the author turns out to be. It’s you! I’ve already learned some things by watching your video. I’m glad I’ve found you. I’d rather see you do and explain what you are doing. It motivates me to try again. Thank you. The name on my book is”The Art of Polymer Clay “. I’ve had it for a long time but I wasn’t successful and gave up. But now I will watch you and try again.
I love watching your videos. You not only teach, but you are also very entertaining! LOL. So glad to have found this one. The way you make your cores for the beads was very helpful. I've been trying to make tube beads but they never come out even. This way will certainly work much better. Thank you, Donna! P.S. I deal with fuzz too. My cats are constantly on my desk. And I like to hug them too.
As a European using the metric system, I’m always amused by you guys having to remember how many inches is a yard, having to calculate quater and eighth of an inch, etc. when us over here have everything in units of 1 and 10 and 100 😂 no fractions to calculate ever! You should try it, it really makes life so much easier.
Hi Donna, I love the necklace! You have taught me so much. Little things that I never thought about that make one's crafting life SO much easier. I really appreciate all the work you put into your vids and I can't wait for the next one. Once again, many thanks.
I learned so much from this class! Would I wear this-I'm not sure-but would I make it? Probably! I just need to find someone who has the presence to wear something this bold. Some things are just worth the joy of creating. I love it.
I love this version of the disk necklace. I have found that I can reuse a raw sheet of clay with acrylic paint on it. I just roll it all together and the paint usually incorporates itself into the raw clay with no problem.
No, Stacy, not unless the paint is wet and there's a lot of it! I think this is most useful if you want to use it like metal leaf where you just mix it into the clay and you see bits of leaf. Make sense?
YOUR TALENT IS ON FULL DISPLAY... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING WITH ALL OF US HERE IN RUclips LAND... MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS ON THIS BEAUTIFUL EASTER SUNDAY... THANKS AGAIN...
Hey Donna! Thanks for your in-depth tutorial! Ideas: place the disc bead on top of your centerimg template & use the straight lines to locate the equidistant spots for cane embellishments - indent w/ a needle tool to mark the spots How about if you use your gold donuts instead of the rubber ones and glue as you assemble? Also, for scrap painted clay, make some length guides - 1/2", 3/4", 1", etc. For areas where a ruler doesn't fit & you want a consistent length.
I learned! Yes, I did. Lots of good technique tricks. Love the technique of buna (sp?) cord inside buna cord for seamless connection. And yeah, that loctite situation feels like a bit of a rip off, doesn't it? Thank you, Donna❣️
I've always used fimo in the past but seeing how bright your work comes out I've ordered my first lot of sculpey ,I can't wait for them to come. I love your work xxx
While watching this you tube video , you used a brass rod .. what size is I and where can I purchase it ? You also use a centering template … again , where can I purchase the one you use … thank you for all your wonderful videos … I learn something new and fascinating with each one I watch❤️💕💕
Hi Natalie, prairiecraft sells the centering template! Now, the brass rod was purchased from a hobby store and they’re ends. You see people have them cut specific lengths and then there are leftovers! 😊
Great video and necklace! At the end you stated how I saw the necklace, however, the entire process was fun to watch while learning. Love what you did with the leftover gold slab! I can see making one with smaller waffles. *Did you varnish them? Why did you use Nivea lotion? Thank you!
Hi Donna…Love all your tuts. Not only do I learn something new each time, but your style is entertaining..the humming too. One question, what is the number on bottom of your plastic storage boxes? I find that the polymer is eating through the plastic. Happy clay trails to you!
My number is 5. Just make sure the box is translucent, not clear, and it's got some flex to it, not brittle. You should be fine if you just remember those two things!
Thanks, Donna! What weight/size Tigertail do you recommend? 3 or 7 strand? What diameter? (If we were putting it in the core or using it for the recent half moon earrings) Thanks!!
You know, I use a tigertail that I bought from PandaHall. It's fine than SoftFlex .024 that I also have. Now, having said that, I think both would work. We're not stressing it in any way, really so I'd say you have quite a range of good options! Hugs, D
You know, it's the best thing about shotgun shells and bullets. These boxes store ammo. You can find them at cabelas and sporting goods stores! Hugs, D
Hi! Okay, my pronunciation is bad - what I'm saying is Buna Cord. Now what I mean is rubber cord. Buna is like Kleenex, a generic term that I use for rubber cord. Make sense? Cheers, D
Hi Ramona, I guess you're talking about updating cc info to google (who owns YT?) Honestly, I don't know. Usually, you'd find that info in your youtube account - normally that is under the "wheel" icon. not sure I've been much help here...Hugs, D
I love these...where did you dind this fabulous centering template? I would so appreciate a link to where I could purchase it-it is perfect! I am so glad you did share this tutorial...I think these beads are really fun.
@@DonnaKatoArt Oh yes! it is such a great centering tool....will you please let us know when this tool is available again? Maybe we should just look on your website every now and then until they are there? This is such good news. Thank you :-)

I love this necklace. I think as creators, we can over think and be over critical of our own work. It is beautiful.
I agree!
Nice 🥰 Gave me an idea to make a batch of them and hang them in the doorway as a divider! It would look interesting ❤️ Enjoyed your video totally 👍

I agree, it's confusing...!
Oh the little cat is so cute!
I’m so glad that you showed this video, there are endless possibilities on how you could do these. Love them.

this is fun to make. You know, the original was made with the mud cloth canes, that works really well because they tend to be borders! Have fun! D
I love this version of the disk necklace. I have found that I can reuse a raw sheet of clay with acrylic paint on it. I just roll it all together and the paint usually incorporates itself into the raw clay with no problem.
This may be a silly question, but does the acrylic paint change the colour of the clay?
I think I've done that, too! We call them "inclusions"! Hugs, D

I Love both of the tutorials you put up this weekend!!! Thank you so much!
My pleasure, Peg!❤️
Ooooooh! Right up my alley… or is it right up my wardrobe style?

I love this necklace. I love the variety. It would have been fun to see it on you. I’m certain it was adorable.
I love that the little wafers look like tiny birthday cakes. Yum yum
Thank you for yet another delightful tutorial Donna! Not only do I enjoy your art, but you're a real treat to listen to and always brighten my day ❤

I love that you keep coming up with ways for us to use up canes from previous videos. Thank you Donna
Clare, I need to! Hugs, D
LOVED the class thankyou
I think you're right but that's a class for another day (and I have to make about 20 more beads!!!) Cheers!
Gorgeous! ❤

What a fun project !!! Thank you so much!💞

It is more than OKAY. Love love love.
Really pretty!!❤😊 thank you so much 💓 😊!!

Hi Kid, I use Kato but maybe Sculpey is brighter than Fimo? Honestly, I dont' know!
Very nice. I love it. At some time I would love to see your favorites!
Sooooo adorable!
I think it is a fun piece!
I have tons of amazing pieces but I have zero idea in how I made them. So frustration!
Love it - it makes me happy ! Thanks for a greate class !
Yay!
I love it and have been going through my old canes and wondering what to do with them especially the tiny short ones.

Once again, an incredibly detailed and useful tute! I adore the Ditto cane
I'm thinking a Ditto cane is in order!
@@DonnaKatoArt I would LOVE that!!!
I, too, have a clear Rings & Things ruler.
Great video and necklace! At the end you stated how I saw the necklace, however, the entire process was fun to watch while learning. Love what you did with the leftover gold slab! I can see making one with smaller waffles. *Did you varnish them? Why did you use Nivea lotion? Thank you!
No varnish, not necessary. The Nivea restores the color to clay that is sanded roughly. It's better on clay than on skin! Cheers, d

What is that little box called you keep your canes in and where do you find it. I’ve been looking but probably not putting in the right. Name

Hi Donna, is Unicord the brand, I can’t find it. Or will anyone brand work? Do you get the O Rings from the same place? Thank you.
Hi! Okay, my pronunciation is bad - what I'm saying is Buna Cord. Now what I mean is rubber cord. Buna is like Kleenex, a generic term that I use for rubber cord. Make sense? Cheers, D
Скажите, пожалуйста, как называется этот измерительный инструмент?
I'm sorry, I can't translate...
Donna we wish to know the name of the measuring device you used to get the centre point🙏🏽
My CC needs to be updated does anyone have the link?

When you say 2mm O rings- are you talking about the inner dimension of the O ring- I am having a hard time finding these online. Thank you.
Hi! Yes, the inner diameter is what you need to match to the cord! ❤️
@@DonnaKatoArt Thank you Donna...
