I was watching Fearless (Huo Yun Jia) and in the special extended edition Michelle Yeoh was speaking in the beginning of the film and she was talking about how she believes Wushu should be an Olympic sport... While breaking down reasons why it should be. Ever since then I've wished it was and after looking at this, I'd want to see this more than so many other events in the Olympics. This was incredible... This is gymnastics +... There's no reason why they could put this in the Olympics. This was amazing to behold.. This woman is incredible

Anyone know what the name of this Wushu move is called? Its when they fall onto their side on the ground and have their right arm outstretched and right leg outstretched and they're lying on their side. They usually can fall into it through Butterfly twist or a right leg sweep. I think its the only "gound falling" bit there is in Wushu performances aside from falling into splits but this is onto their side into that pose.

Seeing as you're receiving comments still. I enjoyed the grace and flow of the performance. Your balance didnt falter in the slightest. These fools criticizing the art for not being combat oriented are arogant. Little do they realize even as a formal display. It can still be used as is. I doubt they'd take you down. Better yet, I doubt they could get close with the strength you exhume being yourself. Keep on living through the Arts. Even if you cant compete, the mere practice keeps it alive.

I was intimidated as my classes were held in a dojo where other martial arts were performed by chinese. They would look over at my progress and I got used to it.
