As someone who is an archaeologist, I loved this film for the way it depicted ancient cultures. The “crown of fire” was not magical or powerful in any mystical way, but simply was valued because the shells were assigned significance by the culture that interacted with them. There were no boobytraps in the tomb, no mystical orders or violent tribes. The only threat is manifested in capitalist business interest and modern ego: which are genuinely the biggest threats to actual archaeology today. Also Loretta correctly describes what a logographic writing system is, so the writers did their due diligence. Very impressed with the film across the board.

The funny thing is that Brad Pitt who appeared in this film with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum respectively but in a minor/brief role would later reunite with those two actors again in _Bullet Train_ released five months later. Only this time, Brad Pitt is in the leading role while Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum who were the main leads in _The Lost City_ play smaller/minor roles in _Bullet Train._

So does anybody know anything about these guys teaming up now. That would be awesome. I love all these guys.
Plus I don't care what anybody says Bullet Train was hilarious meets Snatch ,and this movie the Lost City, was hilarious action thriller meets Sandra Bullock, well played.
So next is Channing's movie where of course Brad Pitt, and Sandra Bullock will be in the background.
Putting a lot of superstars in a movie is fun. Unless the movie's Red Notice which was agonizing to watch and I turned it off about 1/3 of the way through. So thanks to Jeremy I actually got to see the ending of the movie. I don't think I would have been able to cope with not seeing the end of that piece of garbage. I'll never know how Ryan Reynolds and the Rock got into the helicopter together with their gigantic f%#king heads.

I went in expecting Red Notice 2.0 and was pleasantly surprised. Didn't expect the two leads to mesh well together (even though I like both separately in comedic roles) but they made it work for what it was. Doesn't shake things up too much but it's fun, and I think that's greatly welcomed during such an exhausting point in time of current events.

Fun fact: despite what gas stations will tell you, thencinema sins guy is absolutely correct about a cigar or cigarette not being able to ignite alcohol, or even gasoline. A flame, and actual flame, is needed to spark a fire. An ember, no matter how hot it is, can never spark a flame. The 'no smoking, at gas stations is more for 2 reasons than the one that most people think. 1 is just for general safety and extra (albeit unnecessary) precaution, and the 2nd is to make sure some idiot doesn't light a cigarette while pumping gas into their vehicle. The flame from a lighter, or even just the spark from the flint, can ignite a flame; the latter requiring much more buildup of gases or fumes, however, the former (the lighter flame) doesnt need nearly as much to ignite.
It's always better to err on the side of caution, so just because fires can't ignite from embers doesn't mean anyone should go around throwing embers at alcohol or gasoline, but it really wouldn't do anything if they did.
there are many movies where an actor lights a cigarette and then flicks it at a pool of gasoline and causes a huge explosion. The reality is, if a person flicked a cigarette at a pool of gasoline, the cigarette would simply come down and hit the pool of water, which would extinguish the ember and put the cigarette out, leaving our hero/heroine\villain/villainess standing their with a dumb look on their face.

I'm going to be Simon here and say, in my British voice, "It was dreadful." Seriously, the movie was just a worse version of every other movie like this that I've seen. Also, Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum have no chemistry. Just none. They don't play off each other well at all. That's part of why the movie is so bad.

My dad took my brother and I to see the movie. He had been the one to want to see it; my brother and I thought it would be fun so we went along for the ride. I actually really love it, it’s such a genius parody and you can tell it doesn’t take itself seriously at all! Radcliffe was also a delightful villain, it’s really nice to know that since he’s set for life as Harry Potter he instead picks which roles to do based on how fun they sound!
