From my experiences, it feels like the .470 NE was designed for close-quarters hunts where immense stopping power is crucial (fairly typical of a cape buffalo hunt), with other weapons (like .300 mag and .338) being more ideal for long-range shots That being said, I wish it was able to punch a bit further, bc it's really good at quickly dropping cape buffaloes, water buffaloes, and bison, and the range would especially help with hunting lions

.470 is late game gun. It's not worth buying over some more versatile weapons like the 7 mm. But if you have lot of cash, go for it. It is perfect close quaters gun againts class 9 animals, which tend to be the most aggresive species . And it's also fun to use.
I'm thinking of trying out some of these more natural styles of hunts to add that surprise element again. I just got burnt out on grinding so much. Nice video!
I think we would be better suited with a bolt action .458 Lott in the game. Extremely similar performance. Norma PH ammo has a 500 grain at about 2200 in the Lott, 2100 in the Nitro Express. In the real world, given equal velocities and bullet weights, the Lott actually outperforms the Nitro in penetration and has better distance shooting characteristics due to the slightly smaller bullet diameter. And being a bolt action would allow us to put a decent sight on it in-game for more precise shots.
The massive .460 Weatherby could also fill this role. It outperforms both of the others by a wide margin, throwing a 500 grain at 2600 fps, and is used in a bolt action. It also has the coolest name of the three, imo.
@@Chabrinklo6.5 the realistic recoil of the .460 Bee should make the Argus incompatible, imo. I've got a .505 Gibbs equivalent rifle that I can't use a standard rifle scope on, because it recoils sufficiently to drive a 3-4" eye relief optic into my face. I had to use a scout/pistol scope on it.
@@randomidiot8142 That is true, but this game isn't exactly realism focused. You don't have to maintain or repair your guns in the game, I don't see why they would start caring about realism with recoil damaging scopes.
the 470 has a lot of potential to be a great gun, the only problem is it is way too expensive to purchase in game. and i feel like it isn't worth 90 grand, when the 7mm can do just fine, and has more range.
The 470 is a great gun from my experience. It has a diffrent slow pace close range stlye which is very fun. And IRL its ok for the african cats and tigers provided you use softs. This is a important point in real life as solids will not expand all that much causing less damge to the animal. Not sure if this would make a difference in game, however still as a more traditional type hunter this rifle is great. Also this would also be a great chance for the devs to add a 416 rigby or 375 h&h which would be more sutied for cat however still being able to punch a bit hirer for future large game and still being able to harvest smaller animals.
I have 95k in the bank ibe got all the guns I need 7mil, .308, 338 pretty much every gun but i dont have the .470 yet, is it worth getting or should i just spend it on something else (I dont really know what to spend it on)
I do love the springboks but I really wish that black fur for the females would either be removed or had a pattern, I’m still low level haven’t got the fur track ability and I’ve been caught out quite a lot thinking it’s mela, haven’t got sight spotting yet either, I get excited for no reason. I think they should make it like patchy on the body.
@@Flintergaming wow u really reported me or someone in this conversation come on its just talk no disrespect. They showed me where the report came from come on guys its not deep/serious wow

Feel like the 470 needs a buff since it’s the most expensive gun in the game. If you paying 90k it should drop most of the time
It already does.
Not well enough if a lion can just keep running after getting hit with it when I say dropped I mean stone dead going no where
Using it for attacking tigers would be a cool video idea

Yay a upload I love watching your videos in the background while I grind
Yo same, Im on the quest for a Diamond Saltwater Crocodile.
470 is the most fun gun to use on big game drives. Also the only gun i trust to protect myself in close quarters.

Yeah especially for newer players it’s way to high of an investment, for only a single class of animal
It’s an elephant rifle….?
@liamsstudio_44 an elephant rifle that's out performed by a moose gun
Congratulations on your diamond blue wildebeest. I always wanted to hunt a wildebeest my whole life. Happy Trails and happy Hunting!😊

Yeah the 470 needs a pretty decent buff. Especially now that a 375 is coming. I at least hope the 375 isnt anemic
Hey flinter great video. I was wondering if you could do a video to show what your loadout is for each map?
I do need to make one of those soon 🤔
Thank you for making this video lol I was having the hardest time figuring out if the 470 was even worth yesterday great timing
fun gun but 100% not worth it lol dont buy unless u just have a ton of spare money
Ive been watching your videos since 2018 and they are still good. Love the content keep it up
Thanks, will do!
A part of me thinks the .470 has some sort of coding flaw associated with it. It acts very similarly to shotguns with slugs.
great video flinter. 4:39 wtf does that dude mean by bowl rack for the GO fallow is he talking about the spoon rack or the Irish elk rack? lol

Yes, it’s worth it.
The .300AR is quite fun. That and the .454 make the game more casual for me.
@@randomidiot8142 Yeah fair enough I'm just a big fan of the Modern rifles as much I prefer to use the .338 or the .300 canning magnum
@@liamsstudio_44 I'll probably end up getting, and I cant really it on anything else so may as well

not as early today
The gandhare is better than the 470 imo.
At range yes but close but close no
