I'm so excited about the process of the Piano Sweater! I wasn't able to grasp where you wanna steek but I'm sure I'll get there in due time. Sounds like a fun endeavor for sure!
i love that you're going to be donating the proceeds to charities. im going to get your pattern and then i think im going to be making some hats from it to donate at the end of year locally
I'm so excited for your piano sweater. I completely understand what you mean with the row/stitch gauge dilemma. I'm very Pro Swatch because it saves you time in the long run and gives you a low stakes place to practice new techniques. Maybe you could make a baby sized piano sweater to figure out the construction? Congrats on releasing your first pattern!
The Birthday sweater project looks great, The piano keys panel on the sleeves is very interesting, I caught myself imagining how I would have done it too. The gauge should be pretty simple to calculate if you make a swatch or have a steamed/blocked piece of fabric, it is pretty much the same as for the saddle - if say 10 cm contains 23 stitches and 34 rows, you will need to pick up/knit/attach 34 rows there where you have 23 stitches of piano keys panel. (I hope I understood the construction correctly). And the melody is very beautiful, my son learned it recently as well, so it was a constant sound around the house)
I got it on my forearm...the potion that says I have a tattoo😂. I have 3 Russian dolls that represents the most important things to me, my country Wales, reading/knowledge and knitting
knitting bestie, i wonder which cast on/cast off would be best for your piano saddle pick ups to match row gauge? make a smaller demo sweater with scraps to try? does knitting math count as dementia-preventing math? could it? please? tattoos, i have many color tattoos. i like that they fade and change. i tattoo, but i work with black only. the magpie black looks like it might be a japanese-style black which gives that really dark black.
Hi bestie! For the piano sweater saddles i was just going to do regular long tail cast on and bind off as i usually would, as they‘re going to be pick-up edges anyway. And the small sweater is a great idea, someone else suggested that too. Also pretty sure it doesn’t matter what kind of math you do to prevent dementia, pretty sure knitting might also help with executive function in the frontal lobe with all the counting and remembering stuff short-term.
Comptine d'un autre ete is one of my all-time favourite piano pieces! Also did you just call your Egyptian tattoo "Greek mythology" or did I mishear you? 😂 I've lost count, I think I have like 16 tattoos? And I want more hahah.
you are a lovely interesting original woman, and your podcast is quite entertaining, although your aesthetics is VERY different to mine... regarding tattoos: I suggest to go to elderly homes and look at old people with old skin with old tattoos ;-)
I‘m glad you’re enjoying my videos! I would actually love to meet an old person with tattoos, i imagine that would make for such an interesting conversation. Guessing that you‘re hinting at tattoos looking worse when we age, i personally am not too concerned. Sun damage, pigment changes, scars are just things that happen to the skin over the span of our lives, just like a tattoo that changes with age. And for me, it‘s not only about the aesthetics - it‘s about the stories that come with the tattoos as well. (I am VERY diligent about using sunscreen on them though 😂)

Thanks for explaining! I was hoping it would work out that way, so that‘s reassuring!
And kudos to your son, that piece is so hard to play well. ☺️

Riding for the Disabled - human and animal charity in one!
Oh i love that!
you're practicing a song from Amélie by Yann Tiersen, right?
That's my guess 😊
Yes! Comptine d‘une autre été ☺️
@@evasknittingpodcast ah yes! all the songs are burned into my brain (i'm a twee millennial) but i couldn't remember the name!
