Part 5 of 5: Rio Arriba Sheriff James Lujan Get's Arrested AGAIN!!

- Опубликовано: 8 июл 2020
- @Copwatchtvreceived video from the New Mexico State Police of embattled Rio Arriba County Sheriff James Lujan. The video shows the Sheriff turning himself in to the New Mexico State Police on June 3rd, 2020 in Espanola, New Mexico. The Sheriff was facing two additional felony charges from the Ninth Judicial District Attorney. The charges are harboring or aiding a felon, and threatening a witness, which are fourth- and third-degree felonies, respectively.
Sheriff Lujan agreed to turn himself after his lawyer and the DA came to an agreement.
Present during the arrest were his attorney, Nathaniel Thompkins, and investigators from the Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Andrea Reeb’s office.
Ninth Judicial District Attorney Senior Investigator Adriana Munoz believes she has established probable cause to show that Lujan may have committed two felonies: harboring or aiding a felon, and bribery or intimidation of a witness.
The warrant was issued by Los Alamos Magistrate Court Judge Pat Casados on the early morning of June 3rd.
Sheriff Lujan wanted to be transported to Santa Fe County Jail, but changed his mind to Los Alamos County Jail.
Lujan had his first court appearance in early June and the case is awaiting further details.
The New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Director said Lujan's suspension is imminent due to the felony charges. The suspension will remove Lujan from any "police" work and he will become an administrative sheriff.
The whole Sheriffs dept. should be under investigation after this.. the Under Sheriff was acting shady when both warrants were served... they clearly thought they were above the law.
More than the sheriffs dept the whole town needs looking into. This is the second sheriff they have in prison. Something is going on that these types keep getting "elected"
They did
Agree, whole department needs to be replaced.
That whole police station was corrupt, it rots from the head down.
Hates the hand cuffs he's been putting on people for 40 years, how ironic 🤔
How is that ironic? Hopefully he had good reasons to put cuffs on people and there are good reasons to put cuffs on him now.
@Jacob Gods are fantasy. Do you know what an Atheist is? Last question: are you one of those Marxist cop-hating lawless radicals? Well, you didn't even get the point of my comment, so I stop asking difficult questions now.

Damn. That has to be the WORST feeling ever. I can’t imagine the humiliation.
I lived in NM when this crap went down.
The way Lujan tried to walk all over arresting officers & pull his crap w giving his phones to the undersheriff then switching them up was infuriating. The undersheriff acting like he’d take a bullet for him was ridiculous as well. It’s the New Mexico version of Andy Griffith..gone bad.
And ffs w the cuff drama. Idc if they were literally slicing thru my wrists, Id just deal.

Probably the whole department is under investigation.

And law enforcement wonders why they get a steady decline in respect. Not only was professional courtesy extended to much, but Lujan got to pick and choose where and when he was being taken and under his approval. He committed felonies and anyone else would have been thrown to the ground and cuffed. This is absolutely dispicable.
That's not true. He'd already been arrested at the sheriff's office one. When new charges are brought it's very common for you to show up with your lawyer for an arrest like this.

Muting the mic should not be a feature of body cams. There is literally no reason they’d need to do it other than suspicious sh!t
They may have to do it if there is a subsequent dispute about admitting evidence It may not have been muted at the source but muted in broadcast
If they are in the bathroom or on their 15 minute break I can see the mute/shut off…but if they are “working” it should be on and recording!
It’s always fun to watch a corrupt man used to getting his way finally not get his way.
Except for deciding when and how hes arrested on felony charges and which jail he prefers without going into a cell then walks away from all of it for a resignation, even though they could have gotten that if he was convicted of the bullshit he was doing. Unfortunately for the client(s), lawyers in a specific county are well know for trying multiple cases in front of the same prosecutors, judges, and court personnel. I have a court case and my lawyer brought bagels for the court personnel. I told him how I personally felt and asked him not to do that. He understood and apologized. My ignorance was that I wanted my lawyer to be as personally annoyed as I was. He was just doing his everyday job.

Seem to me that someone is getting a taste of his own medicine, who know how many inocents he locked up due to his arrogant behavior, something must be wrong with him.
He may be guilty of being arrogant, and not cooperating with an investigation against himself. (who would).
He also, is only facing misdemeanour charge's... There may be chatter of deeper criminal activities, but there
is no evidence, witness or lead showing/stating that to be the case. The Police have searched under warrant, his home,
his office, computers and devices, and other than the original misdemeanour charges, there are zero investigations or charges ongoing.
But you are insinuating that he knowingly lock's up innocent people, and it was a common thing for him,
that he has a chemical imbalance, and that the misery and distress he is experiencing, leaves you with a
feeling of Contentedness.
It seems you are the one, who so condemns, the innocent.
Just as your namesake was condemned, even though being innocent.
No one should be treated with this level of consideration after breaking the Law. This is clearly INSANITY AT IT'S BEST AND THE TAX PAYERS EXPENSE.
She says, "Sorry to meet you under these circumstances," and his immediate response is "Political games." Which indicates he still believes he did absolutely nothing wrong and is blaming this whole situation he created on other people. SMH. Basically the city state troopers/city cops are letting him do it because he's doing it on camera and creating evidence for the state's case.
