They are unhappy. They dont eat right, exercise, avoid stimulants, or get enough sleep and study. And in turn they are hateful and lash out to get a temporary dopamine hit that only lasts a few seconds so they need to go and do it some more.
Algorithms on social media typically favour negativity because social media doesn't want you to see what you like, it wants to show you what keeps you engaged and continuing to use the platform. If Facebook shows you something positive, you give a thumbs up and move on. If it shows you something you disagree with, you stop and write a comment disagreeing, maybe getting into an argument with someone. Whatever you are more engaged with you get shown more of, and that's usually things that are negative. I do think there's also a lot of human behaviour, the 'us vs them' mentality, that causes hatred. Look at how bad cancel culture is, sometimes someone does something minor and people WANT to see their career destroyed, they WANT the other person to suffer, there's an enjoyment in it. I remember a while back someone wrote a comic about a trans character and the trans community went apeshit saying it was bad representation. Turned out the comic author was a trans person in the closet, but they deleted all their social media and said they would never make art again because of all the death threats they got. People decided 'you're not one of us', and the hate just flowed out of them. These hate bandwagons legitimately effect people and ruin people's lives- hell, we've all had times where someone has been rude to us and it's got us pissed off all evening thinking about it. The difference is, on the internet, you can say what you want and there's no need to care about who you're talking to. You'll never meet them again in your life, so they're no one to you; why not treat them like they're nothing? Good video and good topic. Sadly we won't see social media ever get fixed because, as long as the hate is making money and keeping people on the platform, there's no incentive to fix it.
@@cheesypoohalo all very good points. Especially the “us vs them” mentality. A lot of negativity/hatred comes from that for sure because a lot of people take things personally. Whether it be a mean comment, a bait post, or like you said topics that they disagree on, they take it as if it’s an attack on themselves directly. Pair this with the mob mentality of hating whatever is popular at the time and yeah it can get pretty bad

What you're observing is the "if it bleeds, it leads" thing. You're also observing this desire for people to be chaotic. There are many many people who are drawn to and prefer chaos over other things. Just keep being consistent at what you do and focus on the affirmative and not the chaotic.
I deleted and rewrote my comment about people loving to hate a bunch because I didn’t want to put any effort into being negative 😂. I agree with you 100%
There's just a lot going on. War on the horizon, people are poor, the more popular the internet gets the more shifts in personalities occur. Hate for the other has always been there but we've justified reason to put it on the surface by idolizing people who produce it. We all want someone or something to blame for all the hardships in the world and when someone see's or hears something they don't rock with - that is now the cause for blame. World is cold as shit, dog.
@@Uriboiyeah that’s definitely true. There’s so much going in reality that the internet has only become more of an escape. All that lashing out like you said is being directed to the wrong places
I think hating has always been popular, at least in the age of the internet. The rise of social media has turned hating into a favourite hobby for many people. Folks seem less and less interested in positive things now.
I can't help but scroll, my thoughts are so unbelievably boring. or sad. I guess I'd rather be mad about some drama that doesn't affect me (I'm talking like youtuber drama, he said she said). I immerse in the slop bc it's so low maintenance. idk. maybe it's too late for me
@@yaemon22 it’s never too late, no matter how bleak it may seem/feel in my opinion. You acknowledging that fault is already a sign of improvements can be made. I think negative energy will always be here. It’s probably because people can connect to negative emotions easily and they don’t know how to express love and empathy. It can also be for validation from others. A great example is my mother in law 😂 She is always negative even when good things happen to her. She is always looking for a way to make it a pity party and becoming the victim. It’s crazy. I even had someone comment on how they didn’t like my video about my sketchbook because I was wearing a crop top. 😂 All we can do is try not to let it get to us. Some people will always be butt heads but there is also some good in the world. Stay positive ❤
Don't worry hon, just don't use Twitter or look at the comments and everything will be fine.

This. I'm 33 and hating was certainly a thing back in the 2000s. It just depended on where you lived and the people you were around.
