My recommendations
Tribit stormbox micro 2 - $60 - 8/10 -
A really great sounding speaker at an affordable price and also very compact. Perfect for biking or the beach.
In addition, an application with an equalizer and a battery indicator is available
Soundcore Motion 300 - $80 - 7/10 -
Great sounding speaker with a nice customizable EQ and an adaptive EQ that changes the sound depending on position. But it can distort sometimes
JBL Partybox Encore - $300-330 - 9/10 -
A good loudspeaker with deep bass for a party. It has an equalizer app and has bass boost options that make it even better
will enhance the party. Additionally, there are 2 microphones in the box (USA) and 1 microphone in the EU. I even prefer the encore to the boombox 3. New models have now better battery.

Man, remembering Oluv's video about Boombox 1 outdoors, he compared it with the Oslo and it was decently close in loudness... After hearing this, Xtreme 4 definitely wouldn't be able to comepete even tho they're the same size after 8 years. Imho this really shows the difference between engineering and marketing (most concerning part is that Jbl is still a good one)
Xtreme 3 seems to have upward slant , where x4 has regular sound down to 400hz, then it rolls off massively, so it goes louder, but less bass
I think bass is the same only mid & vocals pushed in X4 like charge 5
The Xtreme 4 sounds distorted with some tracks 🫠
I wonder how bad can this distortion can be if it’s connected to AC…
Treble on the Xtreme 3 sounds much worse than the Xtreme 4 here due to upper mids lacking as well as the Xtreme 4 being a tad louder so it is better, just not as good as it could have been. Tbh I'm disappointed especially since its been 3 and a half years since the Xtreme 3!

I like JBL I have 2 of the 710’s with EQ app Got them for $689 each and also have 2 JBL Encores I got for $149 each
However , when it comes to their stuff like the Charge 5 , The Extreme 2, 3, and 4. And even the Boom box versions , they are way too over priced for what you get in my opinion. Even the JBL encore , list price at 300 is over priced but when I got mine at Wal mart for 149 I was great with that price . I am seeing the party box 1000 on sale right now for $899 , so that’s great. I want the Ultimate but both of my 710s together sound better than 1 ultimate from what my ears have heard so I would want 2 Ultimates which would sound great of course , but at that price after tax on 2 of them that comes to almost $ 3700 when both of my 710’s came it at $1490 !!! The ultimate sounds great but 2 of them are not worth an extra $2185 from what I paid for my 710’s I may grab both of them 1000 maybe and daisy chain all 4 together sometimes ( 2 710’s and 2 1000’s …. Yep , I’m insane I know 😂) However , I would like something to take to beach but I did see boom box 2 for 299 so at that price I may go for one of JBL’s smaller speakers , but the Extreme series for what they are are not worth what they are asking. I had purchase the Extreme 2 a while back cause it was on sale for $199 but it had no EQ app and it was not that loud and it sounded flat so I took it back the next day.

Btw , I have seen the new JBL Authentics 500 ,It’s a single speaker cabinet that has one bottom I think 6 inch subwoofer three different 3 inch drivers and 2 teeters , with an output of 270 watts it seems like it’s pretty good but iit’s going to retailfor about $600 I think I have not seen it in stores yet? I’ve seen a video or two on it it looks pretty good but I would have to hear it in person. The 6 inch subwooferon there is on the bottom of that box and the only thing I don’t like about it is that subwoofer does not have any type of cover it’s totally exposed looks like it could get damaged really easy maybe not but it just looks that way especially if he was to accidentally sent it down or something , even on the party box 1000 with the hits 12 inch subwoofer that faces down on the bottom has a plastic cover over it on this JBL authentic there is absolutely no cover on the bottom of it from the videos I have seen? I was just curious if you have seen that one or not it’s pretty new from what it looks like?
Man your post is spot on how I feel with jbl I love my 110s got em both when they released but bought their extreme 3 on sale for 279 brought it back to target same fn day doesn't even compare to the blast for sound quality shit I'd even take the soundcore motion boom plus over it but what burned me on the flip 6s and charge 5 is in tws ya can't tune em they lock into eq unlike the different jbl for the partybox 110s I can actually tune those to my liking
@@wadec6799 I definitely understand taking it back the same day , and yeah , JBLs little speakers are way over priced . I definitely expected more out of the extreme 2. It had nothing but mid range and when I looked at the contents on the box after I got it it does not even have tweeters when the extreme 3and 4 do and from what I remember and the EQ app is nonexistent with the extreme 2 , only comes with the 3&4 I wish JBL could make it where you can pair 4 or even 6 party box speakers together cause if they did I will go out and buy another pair of 710s if I can run for speakers in TWS with EQ quality throughout my house lol so JBL is definitely losing money because I do not need another pair of speakers that I got to listen to separately and when you daisychain speakers of course it is mono and you do not get the EQ quality because it does not go past the first speaker down through the daisy chain . I even went out and bought a pair of 310’s month ago when I tried to daisychain my 710s together or even with the 310s I would get no sound it would not work I worked with it for over an hour I could not get it to make any sound I have seen in the comments that other people have had this issue maybe I had a bad cord I don’t know I took it back and the chords ( 3.5 mm ) the 310’s did not even compare to the 710 The 310 was brought down for $559-$489 however I saw the 310 at the same store yesterday and now they got it down to $369 if they were that price then I would’ve kept them however after tax that came to $1055 I took them back however right now a pair of 310’s is $797 with tax I am almost tempted to go buy them but I already have two of the JBL Encores for my main smaller speakers. What makes the JBL encore speakers unique is they are not that powerful they are only 100 W each but if you are in a small room and you put them up near a wall or if you put them on top of your dresser or a shelf right up against the wall that rear bass exhaust port causes the sound to reverberate and the bass is surprisingly pretty powerful as it bounces around , sounds great in the back of my Kia Soul lol but in larger open room in the middle of the floor in a big room it loses a lot but if you put the encores up against a wall they seem to have a different effect, kinda like the 110’s I imagine. I also have a pair of the ONN large second Gen speakers , I got them for $98 apiece at Walmart and they are actually pretty good I would say in an open floor they are a little bit louder than my JBL encore however even though they get louder when you put them against the wall also they don’t quite have the same crisp high end and the deeper base like the JBL encore does and they don’t bounce the sound as powerful as the Encores do for some reason even though they are a little louder ? so they are very different and unique ways JBL has a better quality sound and the ONN is actually a little bit louder but it has a pretty balanced sound but it does not sound as crisp on the High end and the JBL’s do , If ONN had an EQ app it would probably exceed the JBL encores possibly on that comparison As I said I got them for $98 brought down from $149 they are definitely worth that price and they are a good discount speaker but they don’t have the same sound quality as the JBL 110’s , even though they are almost the same volume inside the bass on the 110’s is a little more richer , and of course the JBL soundstage sprays the sound out better when you walk to the side of them that’s the downside of the ONN speakers if you get off Axis to the right or left the soundstage is not as wide and you lose a lot of sound but again that’s why they are discount speakers for $98 apiece it’s a damn good speaker but it still is not as good as JBL the only thing I like about the ONN speakers it does have a radio tuner built into it and I wish that something JBL did with all of their party box speakers 🔊 , except the ones that have WiFi where you can stream music. Btw thx for the info on your experience sharing the info about the lack or sound quality on the one you took back. I guess they would be OK in an office cubicle or something but for the price they charge it’s just too much that’s for sure. 👍
I've never liked the xtreme 3, cause of the way it sounded, I expected more, it has no bass, just unbearably loud, its crisp but can be harsh sometimes, but I mean, the bass is so missing.
Im still a bit confused what playtimr boost does to the sound? Does it reduce volume or just bass?

The 4 has more bass but it’s not that obvious because it has more mids. It has better sound fuller bass and louder. We wait a video of someone who measures the frequencies response…

Based on your perception, how is the overall sound quality difference? Can't really make conclusions with only YT uploaded demonstrations. Not the most accurate in reproducing sound quality.
RUclips only applies compression but doesnt change eq or something. Xtreme 4 is better in treble but in bass xtreme 3 is better also mids on both are bad, but xtreme 4 boost too much upper mids after 60% volume so it makes it sounds "LOUD"
@@DominikReviews I see. Yeah I've noticed that too, vocals are too forward at maximum volume along with hollow upper bass character. Xtreme 3 is almost close to perfect if JBL taken the tuning seriously, but I don't see it as a best move because it might hurt their marketing cycle 😆. Have a nice day!

Walmart has the boombox 3 for $349 everywhere else I’m seeing it at 479 however Brandsmart does have the boombox 2 coming in at $249. From everything I’m reading they say the boombox two is actually the loudest boombox three has a better quality base and sound at a lower volume but the way I see it if you can get a boombox 2 for only $250 that would be my choice because it would be something I would carry with me somewhere since I got my higher quality JBL speakers at home. But yeah the boombox 3 blows away the extreme 4 , they haven’t released the extreme 4 everywhere yet but I have no interest in getting it that’s for sure lol and definitely thanks to videos like this that helps us make a choice on what to get and what not to get🙂
@@honeybadger713 no Boombox 3 is the loudest Boombox. And the Boombox 2 is the quietest. Boombox 1 slightly louder than the Boombox 2. But the Boombox 3 sounds waay louder than the 2 Boombox. But it's just the firmware make it louder and louder every update the Boombox 2. Boombox 2 in first place it has the pumping issue, so it limiting the power, every beat of bass comes in, the power suddenly drop, and came back, that's why in first place they Boombox 2 was the quietest. 30meters sucks completely lacking at loudness. But now even the ND, just make sure is in latest firmware. It sounds as loud as it should.
