I live very close to Yucca Valley airport, and my future CFI is located out of this airport. I don't know how/where he gets fuel since this airport doesn't have a fuel service. Do you think the airport and surrounding area is safe for a student pilot to learn? The reason I ask is that I once had a discovery flight at an airport that had a LARGE body of water right at the end of the runway. It was clearly not safe if the engine failed during takeoff. I didn't feel safe on take offs there. So, as a student I care about safety above all else.

Damn, how I'd love for this to be my home airport
Lack of fuel would make that a bit difficult
Can you do a straight in approach for either runway?
