As a kid in elementary school, my brother had problems chewing on his shirts and stuff and what helped him stop was unfortunately gum.But the elementary school we went to had very nice teachers so when his teacher saw him she gave him gum and kept a secret stash for him. She was nice and told other teachers in case they saw him. And the always different principles never knew.
My school actually allows gum because studies say it helps students remember better when chewing it so you can have it in class as long as you spit it out in the trash. They also give away packs of gum for the raffle we have at school and our store we have there as well.
We are allowed to eat anything in my school and Im in 7th grade, so Im used to middle school by now. And the teachers let us sneak food from the cafeteria to their classrooms as long as we can finish it before class ends.
