It's because of the old Nevada Test Site maps that had Area corridors labeled on them. There's an Area 1, an Area 2, 3, 25, 50, 51, 52, etc. And where Area 51 is today is located within Area 51 of that map grip square.
From my research, that's what I was leaning towards, but that had been consted amongst most who study the subject. Some say one thing, some say the next. I wasn't sure who to believe.
According to my research *Adjusts Monocle* Most of them do. However, there's multiple bases throughout Nevada, California, & New Mexico that they fly to as well. Keep in mind that the Air Force claims that's the maximum amount of flights they prefer an operator to be capable of. But, just like other charter airlines, the amount needed comes in waves. But most of the info is classified so it's difficult to be certain.
Like the man said I can confirm. If your someone that watches ADS-B as much as I do (not saying it’s a great healthy hobby😄) you will see Janet aircraft flying into other California bases. The only two locations I’ve seen not in the Nevada Test Range are located in Eastern California.
