Thank you for posting. The "kids" at the service center had not idea that there are 2 Gen 1 chargers, the old one with the large plugin head which gets in the way of the lid for an outdoor NEMA 14-50 receptacle, and the newer version with the flat plug that is not removable and fits nicely in the outdoor receptacle. Both of these can charge up to 40 amps. The Gen 2 charger with the removable adapters plugs charge at only 32 amps; Hence both Gen 1 chargers are 25% faster than Gen 2. The Tesla website does not state what the updated Gen 1 amperage is, but it does state the Gen 2 is only 32. This video finally clearifies it all.
Exactly! Not many will want to buy this corded version since it cost even more ($520) than the Wall Connector ($500) itself. I saw Tesla recently release a corded Wall Connector with a NEMA 14-50 end to be plug in for $500. So maybe I would go with that instead of this Corded Mobile Connector. I do like how this cable is compact and give me the flexibility since its portable.
Good video. Confirmed all the info I wanted to know. - It's the better choice for outdoor in the rain due to being integrated. - It's rated at 40 amps - If you don't mind a little wiring, the wall connector is still the better option for a permanent location due to supporting higher Amps
lol nope. I haven’t had to put it back in the bag. The cable stay plugged in by the outlet ever since. Still working good. I would assume it is strap to hold your other adapters? 🤔
Just bought the kids. "USED 50 Amp Tesla Corded Mobile Connector Charging Kit NEMA 14-50 20' Cable" from Ebay, but when I pluged to Nema 14-50 (240V/50A) outlet, no light on and no current came through. Any idea? Or is it bad? I am new with Tesla Model 3. Please help.
Hello. Forgive for the late reply but did you figured it out. Did you got a bad cable used cable from eBay? It should lit up green when you plug it in.

Thanks for your response. I just realized that black cable was not properly connected. NOW it works fine. Appreciate it.
