I’m a Skoda owner and have paid a lot for my current car €60K 53K base and €7K in extras but €70k for them is a bit much and it’s not even the range topper model I love my Skoda but I think the pricing of all cars have gone mad in this country mostly due the obscene VRT we pay here and something has to be done about it! A nice car but never a €70k car for me.

I was looking at the new coupe version and then started to add on the options and was surprised to see how little is included in the base price. Then rather than pick and chose you have large expensive lumps to add on. It’s a shame as always though the Enyaq looks a great ev. When you consider I could get a fully specked Skoda superb petrol Lauren and Klement with a few extras for £43,500. So Ev land just so expensive.

I love the Enyaq coupe and test drive one and liked it even more. But sadly as you and others here mention, to get all the nice/smart extras the cost started to increase. So much so that I opted for a Tesla model y instead as when going through a Salary sacrifice scheme the Tesla came out slightly cheaper and with nearly all the kit at standard.

Thanks! Mark good review as always. As a standard Enyaq owner I would agree with you regarding trying to justify the price over the standard Enyaq. The VRS Coupe is available to order in Ireland but will set you back over €78,000

My Enyaq IV80x is my 5th BEV. I never considered the coupe as I think the Merc & BMW equivalents are the most ridiculous & pointless looking cars out there, I include the Tesla Y in that category.
I took delivery of the Enyaq in October and managed to keep the price to €53k by cutting out what I considered unnecessary extras, which included ACC, I wish I could have got rid of lane assist, as I consider both to be dangerous on the small country roads I mainly drive on.
I also didn't get matrix lights (upset other drivers) standard lights more than adequate.
I didn't get the heat pump (not needed in our temperate climate) or power tailgate or sunroof. Finally I kept the wheel size down.
I got the auto towing hitch because as a farmer/Forester I do a lot of towing in remote areas of the North West, I'm happy to report that the Enyaq is brilliant at towing.
In the last week I drove from D15 to Belfast & back on a single charge and to Ballyconneeley on an 80% charge with 60km range left. My previous car was an ID3 which was the reason I lost many of the expensive extras that I didn't need.
I knew the Skoda would be good as I used to own a Kodiak which I loved.

I ordered 80x June 2022 and got Matrix light, crystal face, premium color, tow bar, heat pump was included, and many other as standard and it cost €54k so i think i got it cheap. Haven't got car yet and looks like it will delay to this fall and i will get it with new infotainment and new rear engine so it will be even better.

How earth, can anyone afford these cars, they are not simply clever with thier prices anymore, they have boosted ice car prices to make these look cheaper, and lost a massive customer base, they have really shot themselves in both feet.

VW bank must be hoping that the rumours of lower interest rates are going to materialise pretty soon. 0% finance is the only way anyone's going to get behind the wheel of something like this. Imagine paying close to €80k when interest is included. No wonder the finance section of the skoda ireland website is under maintenance. Needed to add 10 year pcp option and how to transfer finance to your children.

Howth Transport Museum ?? Not just the Skoda is electric ! Electric Johnson Mooney and O'Brien breadvan ! Looks to be in reasonable nick. The Commer Walk-Thru van - definitely not electric !! And not in such good nick !
Enyaq ... coupé ! Just don't *get* the SUV coupé vibe either, Nobby. If appearances are a priority, then ... 🤷‍♂️... Anyway - why haven't Skoda got an Electric Octavia, and Octavia Estate already?! And with proper controls - looks like it'll some years before VW get their software and controls sorted. Will stay with the Koreans a while longer 😅!!!

VW IDs and Enyaqs are enjoyable cars to drive with great range, but so riddled with the same software bugs. Side mirrors going often fully down instead of up, laggy responsiveness; and Lane Assist and ACC Road Sign braking/acceleration are outright dangerous features. Pulling the steering wheel to a car in opposite direction or a cyclist when avoiding obstacles and then suddenly releasing it, braking or accelerating because of misread signs from side roads or lanes - bad, very bad software. And the worst part is that Lane Assist turns itself on on every system start.

Tesla Model Y long range without any extras and including the grant savings is the same price as this car at €54K in Ireland. Given that this car also has firm suspension like the Model Y and the wait time on the Y is max four months, it does make you wonder who you choose this car over the Model Y LR, given the Y has more range, better performance, its own charging network, far better software and infotainment with a bigger display and dual wireless charging up front with every Model Y.

No "SUV" or crossover is in any way a Coupé, they're all ugly heavy lumps!! 😯😂🩲🦨🚗

@@NobbyOnCars Anyone actually into cars doesn't!
For example, Mazda used be one of my favourite brands but now that they're no longer selling the 6 here, barely selling it Worldwide and of course put it up €6,000 in the last year it was on sale (when it had no changes in spec!), there's little I like for them or anyone else left!
The 3 is ok, but it's too small and similarly it went up €5,000 recently for no reason at the same time it lost any specs with leather seats!
At least they still make the MX-5 and it's getting a refreshed version soon, but everything else they've put out in the last five plus years have been fat boring "SUVs" and crossovers and maybe worse still, after teasing a new RX that never came out, they're seemingly planning to use a rotary engine as a "range extender" in a damn EV!
It's all very stupid and depressing and wouldn't want to make you buy a new car!
At least second hand cars still exist but if most manufacturers don't get back to building nice "normal" saloons, coupés and sports cars with actual engines that most people want soon, they'll go out of business as most of us aren't interested in and won't buy the new junk they're peddling! 😯😂🩲🦨🚗😀🤘 .

    • @tanner1ie
      @tanner1ie 11 месяцев назад

@@NobbyOnCarsIt's not the sort of model I even look at, with the only models which Skoda makes that half pique my interest are the Octavia and the Superb and even then as said, I wouldn't buy one over the still way too dear 6, but it was only tonight I saw they have the gall to call this thing a coupé!!
A coupé is only ever a play on a saloon or a sports car, a fat and ugly lump like this with the aerodynamics of a bus certainly doesn't count! 😯😂🩲😀🤘 .
