rick is copying Prince with that riff and how he is chanting shh shh shh to the beat and thats the main reason why i picked up this record cuz its more kudos to Prince.
+ROCKNROLLFAN I bought a cassette by Prince years ago and gave it a listen. I was unimpressed so I threw it in the trash. No loss on my part. You couldn't pay me to troll on a Prince website and talk about that dude. He's very talented and that's all I all can say about the dude. Props and respect given. Maybe you should be on his message board hob knobbing with your fellow Purple Rain fans. I'm just saying.
Rick was writing music in the 60's when he signed his first contract @ Motown. Rick is the one that Prince looked up to and many in the industry told Rick to give him a chance because he was emulating him and his style. Rick was one of the first to give Prince a break and he allowed him to tour with Rick and be the opening act. Many started to say Prince was literally copying Rick's look, music and style and it ticked Rick off. In his book Rick felt betrayed. More is coming out about Prince and what a jerk he was. He had an almost 30 year beef with Michael Jackson too which started when MJ blew him away in a dance off at a James Brown concert. Even Prince's family said he'd use you and spit you out when he didn't need you. Rick was loyal to the end for many artists even when people turned on him. Rick was an iconic talent but drugs took over his life. Rick was straight up and it cost him; Prince lied about his drug use and lifestyle but was much more guarded and careful about his image.
@@donovanhenderson2225 then why was he biting Prince & the Purple Rain set for the video " glow" and using the Linn drum like Prince on the first couple of songs, explain that shit....

This Album Album Was Absolutely Horrible And That's The Bottom Line.
Respectfully, I SERIOUSLY beg to differ. Absolutely UNDERRATED is the correct answer.
