- This video shows my initial impressions of a low-priced IC Tester that I bought on eBay. The tester is supposed to identify and evaluate logic ICs in the 7400 series, 4000 series, 4500/14500 series, plus Op-Amps, bipolar and MOS transistors, Zener diodes, opto-couplers, small SCRs, and a few other devices. But the documentation is poor and not very comprehensive, so it was not clear exactly WHAT it would test, HOW it would do it, and how WELL it would do it. So I tried a number of short experiments to 'wring out' the tester and get a better feel for what it could do, and how useful it would actually be in my lab.
@21:15: the timer 555 test is available in AMP list. So go to AMP menu to test NE555 chip
Written in Chinesium....for it's price and what it can do this item is invaluable! opto isolators are checked in "light" mode.
I have some OPA1642 but I don't know if they are fake, would this work?
I find only 4 pin optocoupler set to light and pin 1 set to the top works and some zd tested with the 2 bottom pins on on the sucker across from each other

It looked like a small bug, maybe they should have delivered different sizes, so that you, by your self, could decide the size of bug you want in the system. :-)

OK, so it identifies components BUT does it tell you wether the DUT is good or bad?

yes it does tell you that they're good or bad displaying "fault" for a bad component,

is it able to test 74169, 74245 and 74254 chips?
Mine was able to check Zener with 39V...
The NE555 is in the AMP category.
Which means........what exactly?

Hahahaha! There is not user manual , only that piece of paper that comes with it full of cheap and useless instructions.
My advice is....RETURN THAT TRASH and ask to get your money back!
I bought one on ebay $72 and tried to return. Would have to ship back to China. Absolute garbage in my opinion, mine would not even test a mosfet.

Dude don't buy it, believe me! You will regret it so much.
That thing doesn't work at all.
Hahaha! This is a really crappy tester. That thing does not even give you the pinout of the components and not even that tester has marks where or how to put the components. Even if you test a faulty quad-opams you will be full doubts about the device on test. It works giving you more work thinking if your components are or not.LOL

Your not using it right. Great tester.
How about providing some actual useful information. This product came with essentially no documentation. If you have better information on using it that would get better results, share it!
