**PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ME WITH QUESTIONS** This quick video will ensure you know how to complete the most common form you will use as a Notary Public.
Super super helpful info for me. I more than likely would have not done this if you had not made this video. Much thx from a new CA mobile notary in So. Cal. 👍👍
When I did my first three acknowledgments, I watch your video before hand and did the same thing with crossing out inapplicable pronouns, this video was a big help!!!!! :)
The name that goes after personally appeared.... It is not the name as it’s on their drivers license. It’s their name as it appears under the signature line. That's an important point to mention. You use the ID to verify their identity ...the ID can have more than the name on the document, but not less.
Thank you for filling it out. I am from Oregon and I am helping someone get a birth certificate from California so I wanted to make sure I filled it out correctly. The top is a Jurat and the bottom of the document is an acknowledgement. It is similar to those in Oregon but I didn't know it had to have the box with specific wording or it is not valid. The document she had does have that.
Hands down your video was more informative than the module covering Acknowledgements in the NNA seminar I recently took. There was 0 hands on practice which was a major let down for a 'becoming' Notary. Considering taking a different course for more practical education. Any recommendations? I'm in Nor Cal. thanks!
I AGREE! And this video is 7 years old, still no hands on demonstration with NNA in 2022! I was greatly disappointed. Look how clear, quick and simple this video is? Why can't they do the same?
Glad I found your Loan Signing video recently, Wayne. I'm finding it harder to get the details right as a returning notary vs a new 1st time notary. I left the loan biz in 2015, and now it's the little things that get me. When a newbie friend pointed out that she's going's the journal fast at the rate of entering line items for EACH notarized document for 2 borrowers who signed loan docs, I realized that it had completely gone by me during the "lousy" NNA seminar, since I was concentrating on the new forms. I must have been on auto-pilot when journal entries were covered, "knowing" that you just sum up the description of the loan docs needing to be notarized in one line item. One signature per borrower. One thumbprint. Total. - I need to watch your "How to.." again, but am wondering if you enter the exact time next to each journal entry as you have the borrowers go back to sign & thumb the journal as you progress through the documents. Another video titled Loan Signing as a Notary Public for Dummies would go a long way to build confidence. Thanks!
This is wrong...it’s one journal entry for EACH document notarized, not one journal for a whole signing. Meaning if there are six documents in a signing that require notarization you are to do six journal entries!
When are clients sending you documents that need to be notarized and when are they meeting with you to sign documents? Are agents calling and asking us to make copies and send them out to clients? Also is it custom to meet customers at their preferred place or do we need an office? Thanks really informative
I have a question , I have always used black ink for my signings , 1st time It was requested by lender to use blue ink. Client signed her signature with black ink but I filled out the rest with blue ink . Do you think this would cause a problem? Hopefully not. Would attaching an acknowledgement fix it ?
Who do you think you are to not answer my questions if I have any??!!! Haha, just kidding. I’m not used to RUclipsrs not groveling for my attention… 😁 good video. Thanks!
Great videos. I appreciate the attention to detail. Do you recommend any Signing Companies. I have been at this for 6 years now and am trying to grow my business here in Sacramento CA. Thank you much! - Joey
Hey Wayne, literally everyone else I've talked to said that the name you put on the certificate should be the name that's on the document, NOT the name that's on their ID. So if ID says James Rob Brown and the document says James Brown, then James Brown goes on the document. Apparently things will get kicked back if you don't do that, like Grant Deed. I'm in california as well.
What if the document date is different from the day you notarized. Say the doc is a quit claim deed from 5 days prior to the signing. Do you put down DOCUMENT DATE (5 days ago) OR do you write down today's date...? Also same question for the journal entry. There's a notarization date and time field and a date on document field...
Question, please answer, can I notarize a marriage certificate, birth certificate, or death certificate? They're originals, not copies. And is it true that the fee will now be $15 instead of $10 on January 1, 2017?
I have a question; so if the customer came to us, the NP, as them wanting advanced directive, we cannot formalize/ write out the A.D for them, correct? We’re just there to notarize the document they’re bringing us?
Hello Mr. Wayne! 👋 My Quitclaim Deed form was signed by the law office (the Notary Public) on March 4, 2020. But I didn't pass my Quitclaim form to my company due to Quarantine. May I know If my Quitclaim deed form has an expiration?? I hope for your response. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I suggest to never abbreviate any words, month, dates, or document description to avoid confusion to the public. Also, how come you don't circle the "his", "he", "him"?
@@limitlessnico_ Both are fine. I never said one is better than the other. I just said scribbling is neccessary enough. You can do the other or do both, but either way, the concept/context is the same just in different forms. Circling can apply to visual people or just straight reading will do.

Hey Wayne For Out of state Document is there a way one can print the Notary Certificate Acknowledgment on the end of the document itself so that a separate page is not required to be attached.
I don't know how you would print it on the document when documents are provided to the Notary Public. We are not allowed to provide documents to our customers. I always have a spot on my acknowledgement which allows me to write the title of the document so there is less likelihood the acknowledgement is used elsewhere.
The form I am trying to fill out now is written "At _____ in said county on the ___ day of ____, 2018" After the word "At" is it the time that goes there or the town?

I have a misdemeanor for failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, and I was detained while getting the ticket. Do I have to write down that I was detained, and do I need to be more specific (ticket number??) with the general failure to stop?
