JORDAN PLEASE REACT TO "brought the heat back" MV BY ENHYPEN! IM BEGGING IT HAS SOOOOO MANY EDITING TECHNIQUES I JUST HAVE TO SEE YOUR REACTION😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
jordan the thing is i think you should watch the stuff you take reaction videos to two times, one like this, pausing at times, and one m8re time without any pauses

01:29 Fun fact: That scene with Yujin and Rei smoking is super subtle reference to the Korean idiom, "when tigers smoked," which refers to a time long ago. It, too, is an inciting incident in the storyline, something akin to saying, "once upon a time..."
Yeah i was literally watching the music video randomly today again after a while, and not once but thrice and realized that all the set was like a dollhouse that can be seen at the very beginning. As much i loved the song i was wondering whats the meaning behind "Heya" and what "Heya" suppost to mean. I think its the story tale name? And then Jordan comes here explaining these whole thing was based on a tale🤩 we were heard today haha xD
@@blink-oncefeat.multistan1300 I have been waiting for this video for so long and I'm glad it's finally out! And for your information, "heya" means "the sun" in Korean, with the 'Tiger love and chasing for the sun' tale that created by IVE, the lines "heya" in the song is calling out the sun, and you will then find all the lyrics matches up and fits into the tale. 😁 I love this song as much as accendio. Such a vibe.
fun facts : 1. The meaning of Heya(Hae Ya) is the word used when calling the sun. like 'Hey Sun!' 2. You may have heard it as 'tell me, tell me now', but it's actually 'Tam-E, Tam-E Na'. which means 'I want it, want it'(More precisely, 'My greed is growing')
I really love how the freeze-frames sync perfectly with the song, making listening to Heya and watching Heya two completely different experiences. Normally most songs you can just listen to because the music video feels like filler and detached from the audio, but that's rarely the case with IVE.
this release from them is indeed a big "switch" from what they usually show us, I like IVE, which is keeping that "westernized" music away from their discography and actually releasing "k-pop" music, they knew what to do since k-pop music nowadays is losing it's "k" in "k-pop" IVE, you did it again! 👏
Kpop has always been inspired by Black artists, Jazz, Rap and Hip-Hop scene. There are very niche and few songs which use actual traditional instruments.
@@TheAnonymousuchiha1225 Kpop is inspired by EVERYTHING, we have african type of beats (like smart), latin type of beats (from reggaetton, like Antifragile to Bossa Nova like Alcohol Free), the pop itself (Midas touch, new jeans songs), rap (like my bag), hip hop, classical songs (feel my rhythm), chinese inspired (like hwaa) kpop is just a mix of all of that together. And honestly that's why I like it
@@thejendeuksoo707 I’m talking about 1st or 2nd generation. The ones you’re talking about is 3rd/4th/5th where people started to say Kpop started losing the K from it. But there was barely anything K to begin with.
@@TheAnonymousuchiha1225 I mean, you never said which gen you were talking about, but yes, 1st and 2nd generation was inspired mainly by hip hop. But 3rd gen also. Btw, it wasn't in 3rd gen where ppl started to say kpop started to lose the 'k', but the end of the 4th and 5th generations. Which honestly is the most nonsense thing for me, as all 4th gen songs are literally KPOP. In 3rd gen, all of those other genres I mentioned already were inspiring kpop, but ppl never actually said they lost the "k" of korean, it just started after 4th gen, when they started producing fully english songs. But I think that's 'cause a lot of them always loved bts, blackpink, red velvet, twice, exo, so of course they wouldn't say 3rd gen wasn't kpop. And the black artists influence on kpop where mainly on 3rd and 4th gen, like with Beyonce, Gloria Gaynor ( I LOVED SO MUCH THIS IN After Like), Michael Jackson, rap, rnb, jazz, disco, soul... 1st gen and 2nd gen as well, but I saw those mainly on 3rd and 4th gen (but I mean, no one can deny that kpop is built on black culture) But my answer was just to say that kpop is a mix of everything
@@thejendeuksoo707 well you’re in for a ride. People were all over BTS/Seventeen/Wannaone/GOT7 etc. about them losing the K. Girl groups like twice didn’t receive the “criticism” since their songs always fit in the realm. Blackpink sadly received both ends of it, one end of Cultural appropriation, on the other end they received criticisms of westernisation. My point is Kpop was always westernised. It would be a pleasant surprise if they sneaked in some ethnic instruments. Bubblegum pop was popularised by Japanese and Korean but still had their derivatives from the west. Hence the ones talking about the “westernisation” don’t technically understand what it truly means.
I’ve seen a lot of kpop music videos but this is one of the best ones. It’s so original and the editing is extremely good. Thank you so much for taking a look at it!
thank you for uploading this!! i was waiting for so long for you to react on their MV because, in my opinion, it was so far the most visually appealing and story rich MV in kpop!
You pointed out a lot of things I missed. I couldn't figure out what was going on in the opener with Yujin's head. I knew it looked weird, but I didn't realize what was actually happening. Also I love Bookish Theories.
i swear i love a music video, and then you make a video about it, analysing ever single movement, which makes me love it even MOREEE oh my god i cant believe heya is a real music video its just.. perfection!!!!
I dunno if anyone ever acknowledged this but I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you replaying a part after just explaining something about it. It seems like something very obvious but every time it happens, I feel very grateful bcs my first instinct is to rewind lol. Ur editing is just so nice to watch (well obviously, but u know what I mean🫠)
I've watched this video many many times but still have missed MANY details. I'm so glad you did a bunch of breakdowns while appreciating an amazing music video! I agree tho - she ate. They ATE.
Hey Jordan, I know you like to dunk on yourself trying to be funny in awkward moments, but I say embrace it! Don't apologize so much, we wouldn't be watching if you weren't you.
THANK YOU SOSO MUCH this song has been kinda dismissed overall by the general public and wasnt as well liked, which i disagree but i dont mind that, what i mind is that it results in a lot of people not paying attention or seeing this music video and i absolutely LOVED it. its such a cool video thats well shot and edited together and it doesnt get enough credit
Whenever I see Jordan react to a kpop MV again, I'm always excited, like a child for Christmas, that the music and MVs I love are analyzed even more deeply, keep it up

The camera movement aroung 7:36 is really smart for another reason. The girls were doing a "raising arms" movement, so with the camera's angle is moving up, it feels like the girls were magically lifting the frame up themselves.
7:55 here is the reason why our brain think as if it is a continuity shot is because Wonyoung upward tilt head movement matching the next downward camera movement which also match other members upward hands gesture. Crazy shot. Crazy editing.
I don't know how many times I've watched this MV since its release... Right up my alley, full of very thought-out details...! Btw, will you be doing any breakdown of RM's release? Especially the "LOST" MV, I think would be very interesting!!
Hi, Jordan! Amazing video, as per usual! I love how much time you take to break down every detail, it's actually so helpful! Some music videos I think you would LOVE are Enhypen's "XO (Only if you say yes", Treasure's "KING KONG", and Ateez's "Work"! Keep it up! ILYY
