Hey, any filthy..or even dusty rich people reading the comments out there? Please sponsor this silly man on some history trips to some other cities around the globe.
Hahaha, nice! I don't know if that's my demo, but thanks!
@@tomdnyc1 I would just be satisfied with cities on the East Coast!
I wish that I were even slightly dusty rich.
Yea, let's send him to Haiti with dollar bills glued to his body !!!!😮..........................Erik
The best tour guide of NYC. No one even comes close period.👍👏♥️😊 Thanks Tom
I adore you, Tom. In a good grandmother's way.
Thanks, grandma!
Love this lil hood and its secret mansion! Perfect for a historic tour à la Tom.
One more coffee and the entire show could have blown up :). Nice "hidden" places, bravo!
Great job, guys! Perfect, Tom! Greetings from the EU!
Greetings!
@@tomdnyc1Cheers!
Favorite RUclips channel now. And this video opening is the best ever. Packed full of history and jokes.
Could this video BE any more fun? Way to light up a forgotten corner of Brooklyn on such a dreary day.
When you touched that gate at 10:12 I Busted out laughing. You are so damn goofy lol!!
Same! I rewatched that little moment a buncha times.
Totally my kind of goofball. 😁

I have been watching you since 2020...I live upstate, about an hour away from Manhattan. Congrats on 80k subscribers.
The most handsome man in New York! Love these videos my guy
Tom, you hit 80k subscribers! Congratulations!
Thanks 🎉
What he said!
@@tomdnyc1 Thanks for staying true to your channel's format and not sensationalizing things in order to chase subscribers, like some NYC RUclipsrs. It is noticed and appreciated.
Another cute Tabby kitty peering out the window:-) Interesting history lesson. "This neighborhood kind of fell into disrepair." 15:16 I've seen worse art exhibitions in some of the galleries in Manhattan. lol As always, I enjoyed the show:-) 🧚✨💫
GOD BLESS YOU JAKE. YOU ARE A GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS MAN. LIVE, LOVE AND BE HAPPY!
Hey Tom, So I stumbled upon your videos while researching an upcoming trip for my little family. I am visually disabled and watch as many videos of an area as I can to get a sense of the place and feel as independent as possible. I will say that I am not a big city guy at all, but I wanted to bring my family to NY to get a sense of what it is like. Your video has me really excited to visit. Something I thought I would ever say or feel. What a gift you are to have that kind of impact. THANK YOU !!! Keep up the wonderful work and much love to you
Thanks a lot - that's very nice and good luck on your trip. Feel free to reach out through IG or something!
@@tomdnyc1 Thank you
Oh wow Tom thanks for doing vinegar Hill one of my favorite neighborhoods. Yes it’s small but it’s still a great neighborhood.. I go to vinegar Hill all the time to go to area 53 and do indoor paintball battles. Or go laser tag. I love that place..
I worked there once for NYC Sanitation...never knew the place existed before then
i love Tommy's sense of humour😂❤
As someone who loves New York {from afar here in Australia} I had no idea that Vinegar Hill exists there and LOVED the friends reference there} this was informative and hilarious love this@!!!
Love it! Brooklyn has alot of history , part of my growing up yrs were there, around far rockaway in the 70s, thx for the education, wish I could get a coffee with you. ❤
😊A lot of fun jokes in this one.
Hello tom thank you for informing me of vinegar hill brooklyn, I was raised by navy yard in farragut and I moved in 1988 but would visit often but that name didn't ring a bell but use to go to the school 307 where you show footage. I'm glad you showed people gentrification of area
I'm so glad I'm out of there! Really really glad!
Solid one Tom. Idea: Start a Spanish channel with the same tours, doubling or more your viewer base with the same content. ( If you haven't done so already. ) You can even include the quips "No se que decirles cheles?" and "Dale pues, vamos!" and even "Eres hijo de un arma.".
Love NYC just left yesterday next time I goin to vinger hill and walk around
Great Video! Just a few notes. John Jackson bought the land from the Sands Brothers. The Sands Brothers originally planned on calling the area Olympia, but the land around the Bay was a marsh and they didn't think the land that Vinegar Hill is on was worth much. They thought Jackson was a chump they could unload the land to, and he ended up making a ton of money by selling the bay area to the Navy for a shipyard. He called the area Vinegar Hill to attract Irish immigrants, who were shipbuilders, who then bought homes and now had jobs. Jackson was a genius. You can find a lot of hidden history and stories about Vinegar Hill, online, at the Brooklyn Daily Eagle archive.
Bumping up those analytics
You get it!
Live in BK Heights (our landlords are big Tulane folks and I recall you poking fun at their flags out in front on one of your live streams a while back) and am stoked you did VH! Thanks for all the fun history!
Another Instant Classic 🤙🏽

Tom love your videos awesome
always interesting!
I enjoy your show very much thank you
Well, god help me, from 1997-1999 I lived over here on Concord St., between Duffield and Gold or whatever it is. Just down from Tillary St. When I was living here,
sharing a stupid three level apt. duplex building with other roomies for super cheap rent (but major aggravation!). We had a constant turnover of nuts and wackjobs, or some, anyway.
There was nearly no good food over here at the time, and Dumbo wasn't even really Dumbo yet. I had to hike it to Brooklyn Heights and Henry St. to go food shopping
at a real supermarket, and I would spend a lot of time at the Cadman Plaza diner. WE had a dodgy McDonalds that was on Tillary St. but is now long gone, I think now
it's part of a hotel, and.or a storage co. I had a weird Asian huge hardware store across from my building, which came in handy at times. Now i hear they've renovated
most of the apt. buildings over there, and Concord St., and the buildings are now worth millions instead of a lowly $245,000 etc. Incredible. The only good thing
was that it was only a 15 min. walk to most subways and the buses at Cadman Plaza. And Brooklyn Heights. I did finally get a good PC and had dial up Internet (LOL)
for a few years over there. Plus a fabulous tiny Magnavox TV with a shitty VHS, and a free Brooklyn Cable TV hookup, provided by my wonderful slumlord! LOL
I would have killed to have a Wegmans over there when I lived here, it would have been all of a 10 minute walk from home. The Navy Yard didn't really have anything
to offer back then, either, unlike these days.
Tom D! Love your videos! Keep ‘em coming!
Will do.
I would have loved to have heard about all those old store fronts that are now empty and I think they are residents now but look like old stores.
If I took notes on all your videos I think I could get an honorary degree at Harvard
I'm from Rochester, NY (where Wegmans is from), and yes, we're pretty devoted, but I have never heard of a "Wegmaniac." 🤣
Tom, watch out for that ghost orb... at 4:34
we need cash jordan to tour that residence.
I liked this video.
hey at least there is a Wegman's Supermarket there!!!
I subbed. decent content
I always just thought that was all DUMBO
Tom did you fired Eric haven't herd his voice behind the camera in ages.....
You ever gonna do Staten Island 😂
Yes!
@tomdnyc1 are you going to do Brownsville?

Yea, gentrification, let's face it you'll need to be at least a millionaire to afford to live in NYC, Manhattan anyway.
But seriously, howzabout during the spring thaw going back to Wallabout Bay for the emerging floaters popping up ? You can explain how methane gas makes things buoyant or not.
Then again, Tom on the Rocks kinda covers that so ...
Cash Jorden reviewing your apartment ?
Cash: "Noticed your bed is made of books on New York City.
Tom: "Well, I am a tour guide."
Screenshot of both of you smiling at the camera.
Fade out
Cam’s mispronounced “muy bueno” 😂
