- In some games, players do everything in their power to avoid using certain characters or weapons because they just... suck.
Of course, there are those who have rummaged through the trash tiers of their respective esports and emerged with riches that have made them into legends.
Now just because Valorant is the new kid on the block, doesn’t mean it’s an exception to the rule.
Valorant has a pretty well-established meta, and yet, there are players like Nathanielle "SkuLLy" Liong, who have passed on the Phantoms and Vandals of the world for much crappier guns.
SkuLLy made his name as a Stinger-spamming Reyna one-trick back when the gun was broken, but he's managed to remain relevant even after Riot nerfed the Stinger into the ground.
And he's both used and abused the unpopular pea-shooter to built a community on Twitch.

things like this is why i love valorant if you work at it u can literally do anything with any gun i mean people climb from iron to immortal only using a frenzy a marshal or even a judge its frustrating sometimes but shows how versatile the game is and how no matter the situation u can make anything work.
Omg i cant believe gunz the duel was mentioned. That game was my childhood. Its literally the hardest game to master from a mechanics standpoint. It could have been the most competitive eSport ever.
I was thinking the exact same. Felt like it was one of the only games where you just couldn't reach the actual skill ceiling. Good times :)

I'm all for games with gentle skill curve so everyone can enjoy, but these oldschool games where you actually cannot imagine a perfect mechanical player is something I'd love to see again
It was 10000% before its time, and if it came out today there couldve been a chance that it couldve blown up like Fortnite.
Folks flip out at the creative pro building in Fortnite, imagine instead if folks went crazy over the mechanical play of Gunz instead.

We need a episode that goes over the life of GunZ: The Duel. It really does have a hold on so many peoples pasts because of the insane mechanical skill ceiling, and it's tragic downfall.

@@savien1400 Yeah but I never see it covered by *major* gaming outlets. It's just such an old game and I think it has potential to pull a big audience due to how deep it goes into so many gamers roots

I love those guys who just refuse to bend to the meta. Skully and dasnerth from Valorant, Doinb and that Sion spammer in League, Topson in Dota and many more innovators of various games. They just make the unworkable work.
I really hope you guys do the Gunz the duel video. I was on top of the circuits in SEA in that game and it was one of the best games at the time. Please do the video!

Yes finally the stinger gets some attention! Been using it after I notice how much people avoid the gun like crazy and boy was it amazing feeling to kill with it cuz how much of a hot garbage it is
What i love about using guns/characters that are hot garbag like the stinger is that if you lose, you can attribute it to using that pick. If you win on the other hand, it's just that much worse for the enemy losing to such hot garbage. Win-win scenario for me especially since i don't chase rank anymore and just play to have fun.

Gunz the duel was a great game back in the day. Literally a random glitch created something called K-Style which made the game like 100x more fun than the base game. K style was so hard to do but once u learned it .. the game was way more fun.

I wish Riot brings some life back to Stinger and Bucky. It feels like I want to use them but the game doesn't let me. There is already less variety of weapons plus making stuff literally unusable just ruins the fun.
I really want a GunZ The Duel video by you guys; that game could have been one of the most competitive esports just because the skillgap and mechanics

Gunz the duel was my first pC game ever. I was like 9 and I was on my grind. And then one day I just stopped and it took 14 years before I found myself on mouse and keyboard again. Man I loved that game
I hope that each team that competed in Masters Reykjavik 2 would get featured. The competition has been so good. Regions that were considered minor has been showing up.

now lets see this done with the bucky. it's pretty much unusable, i think all other guns are in an amazing state and worst case on guns like the stinger or marshal they just re-up the price as a nerf as opposed to altering the gun mechanics itself.
When I first started playing, I Mained the stinger. I did it because I was trash, but watching those clips was like nostalgic for me and for the good ole days.
