I have a 2010 ProLine casement AWNING window. The exterior gap around the sash is very uneven comparing the left side to the right side. How do I adjust that? The right side of the sash rubs on the frame, and the left side has approximately a 3/8 inch gap. Thank you.

Hey there. Sounds like your window is out of square. Without being hands on, it's hard to say what could be the issue, but it might be possible to shift the hinges arms a bit to make the reveals closer.
We'd be happy to take a look at it if you're in our territory, and make those adjustments. Just let us know. Thanks!

@@pellanorthcarolina No, the sash is definitely square in the frame. I am in Indiana. But a video showing how to adjust that gap for an awning window would be very helpful. Thanks.

@@MrkWil1234 We've added it to our list! Thank you for the recommendation and sorry that you're having trouble with it. With any luck we can help address this issue for you and others.

The video with respect to the sash lock handle does not address what must be the more useful issue of repairing/replacing the lock latch assembly. We have casement Designer series Pella windows, circa 2002, and the latching mechanisms are not always faithfully engaging, possibly from worn cams, and maybe some window shifting. It appears in my style window there mut be a short rod or plate between the lock handle and the actual latch cam. The two latches are also independent in my case. Fixing that issue seems to require more major work. Would love to see a video on how to repair that issue for older Pella windows. I am sure I am not alone with this type of issue.

Unfortunately, these videos are designed to be more about basic fixes in the home. For more complex service work, especially with aging products, we definitely advise scheduling service with your local Pella branch. We definitely appreciate you bringing this to light though as there may be future instructional videos that go into replacing the lock latch assembly as you have pointed out!

Hi Gary - I have the same Pella latch problem. Did you ever resolve? How? Our windows are wood trimmed and I am wondering if all the trim has to be removed to fix.

No. There is a video on a slightly different style casement window that shows taking apart the trim. I am waiting for warm weather to finally tackle the job. I am loathe to take apart the entire trim. I may just carefully cut into the trim around the bad latch with an oscillating tool, to see what is going on, and what I need to repair the latch. Then hopefully get the trim piece back in, or remake the piece, glue it in, sand and revarnish as best I can. Our casement has two independent latches, rather than two latches connected via a tie bar. May not end up looking as good as new, but better than likely >$1500 for a new casement window (Our window is nearly 2'. wide by 6' high.)

@@garydyrkacz7973 thànk you for the reply. Yes, I am not looking Forward to having trim removed. Right now the latch is removed and I am hoping widow stays as closed as possible. I never should have tried to clean bird poop off! Take care.
