@@GeekToons the only thing I didn’t like is that, in terms of animated stories, “Project Zoo” and “Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures” was not included; probably because those stories were video game based.
Polished and amazingly researched as ever 😀 Thanks for the look back on these claymations. I grew up with Grand day out when I was just 7 and used to watch the first 3 movies at my grandma's house 😆
It is a shame that Sallis has been gone for years, but his great voice in not only Wallace and Gromit but overall shall never be forgotten. Excellent work, GT.
I remember I wanted to see Wererabbit in theaters but my family took me to see the charlie and chocolate factory remake instead. I think I did see it in theaters eventually.
Great video, lad! I have the same story with WaG, it started with "Curse Of a Were-Rabbit" (and after rewatching some time ago - It's still absolutely incredible!), but only a lot of years later i was able to watch every short from beginning to end. And, well, i completely agree with your opinion. The most strange thing is that i find "Matter Of Loaf and Death" the most charming out of them all, which is why it's my favourite,... but i understand that it was kinda a downgrade from all previous ones... yea, "Wrong Trousers" is the best and the darkest short, but my heart lies with "MoLaD"
*Sorry for the Long Comment in advance about my fangirling over my childhood:* Man, Wallace and Gromit/Aardman were HUGE a part of my childhood...Actually, before I was even born!!! You see in 1989, My grandmother had one grandchild in the next 11 years she would get 3 more...But anyway: My Grandmother from 1989 recorded from A Grand Day Out all the way through to 2008's A Matter and Loaf and Dead!!! She loved these shorts, my Mum loved these shorts, my cousin Loved these and when my brothers and I LOVED them too!!! This was apart of a young Aussie love for British things/Actors!!! (me) I got a book as an award on Aardman too!!! Fun Fact: When I was sick I always watched Aardman's movies, and they got me feeling so much better!!! Every time there is a new Aardman thing happening I am happy because my Grandmother recorded them on her VHS!!! Then she passed away, when Early Man (2018) was about to be released, I eventually got to see it later...But her passing man life hard, even though it was hard with me being in the second last year of School...But I did see it and enjoyed it!!! Every time I watch something from Aardman, I feel like I am transported to days when I was young, and life wasn't difficult and I feel so at peace!!! And I am glad some celebrities I enjoy watching also grew up with Aardman, such as Early Man's Lord Nooth or Marvel's Loki: Tom Hiddleston, and famous RUclipsrs such as Markiplier and Jacksepticeye and the Puffballs also Grow Up with the World of Wallace and Gromit too!!! Soon I will be 21 and I still watch Aardman and I am not ashamed to admit it!!!
I always felt like Loaf or Death was missing the magic of the original trilogy - which have an almost otherworldly feel. The feature length film does too, but it doesn't feel as unusual due to its nature.
I mean... A baker trying to kill Wallace is a big tonal shift? Victor trying to kill Wallace, A robot dog trying ro kill Wallace, Gromit, a crap ton of sheep, Fethers trying to kill Gromit. MURDER IS NOT UNCOMMON IN THIS SERIES!!!!!
A tremendous video! Editing is on point and I appreciate the mention - perhaps a collaboration is on the cards in the future...
That would be amazing, thank you
