I agree. Jax and ragatha have the same problem but are trying to solve it in different ways. They are both insecure and scared, but ragatha pretends to be nice so she can feel validated, and Jax completely closes himself from his emotions so he doesn't get hurt.
I think jax is self conscious maybe, or at least is scared of being seen in a vulnerable situation. The FIRST QUESTION he asked when was involuntarily picked up and moved around wasn’t a concern for his safety, it was him wondering if anyone else can see him. Also in episode 3 he was trying to shout and looked very distressed when was tied up, eventually he gave up trying to escape the rope but I still think it’s interesting.
For all the 'Ragatha will abstract' theories, I honestly think Jax is a more likely candidate to abstract. He isolates himself and actively seeks to antagonize the others for his own amusement but likely also as a barrier to make them less inclined to bond with him and view who he is under the mask he dons. Realistically, I don't think anyone will abstract; there's nothing to 'gain' as we the viewers already know what's at stake if the cast loses their sanity. I do think it's possible that Ragatha will be the team captain and Jax won't be a team player and they'll butt heads and that'll be the real conflict in episode 5, or at least in part, as they easily get under each other's skin.
I think Jax is accidentally abstracting someone, noting he has certain lines he won't even cross it would mean things that he would feel very guilty over and the pain jax will be experiencing is more emotional rather than physical but that's what I think and kinda hope for lol
you MIGHTT be overthinking the "nobody can see this" scene, i feel like he was just creeped out by the fact that gangle could see that he wasnt smiling THROUGH the tv some how, since he expected the video to be purely recorded
Perhaps his antagonist/antisocial behavior is just a coping mechanism to literally not abstract/go insane Like a class clown making people laugh for about the same thing.
i think that unlike other episode, this time its Ragatha who will play a therapist with him. Jax and Ragatha are based on Raggedy Ann and Andy from Goose favourite show. I think they will connect them as close as that sibling although fandom will probably ship them
My theory for ep 5 is that jax will unintentionally abstract Ragatha. But let me explain. I feel like pomni and perhaps zooble and gangle will check on ragatha in the morning. She will probably feel bad about the events of ep 4, but they will just put the topic aside and bring her to the main hall where caine will announce the next adventure. Perhaps Jax will make a mean comment about ragatha's behaviour from ep 4 and that will upset her. Since she may still be on the stupid sauce's effect, she might argue back. Throughout the adventure, they may continue arguing and in an isolated environment Ragatha will confront jax directly about his personality towards the others and especially to herself. He might feel offended and tell her to backoff, saying that he doesnt believe in her fake persona. That might trigger her into abstracting, since she already feels like the crew hates her for the comments on ep 4, but now has it being said directly to her face. After all, the fake persona is her coping mechanism. Idk, its a rather detailed theory, but it makes sense in my mind lol
that would make sense. (English is my second language) although i think, that even without “stupid sauce effect” Ragatha would feel upset or just anxious about what happened on last adventure. As we know, Ragatha really cares about others people opinions, and she wants everybody to like her, even if she doesn’t like them back. I think, that no one would pay much attention to Ragatha’s behaviour in episode four, but Jax being Jax would make some comment or joke about it, and Ragatha would be even more anxious, because if somebody is pointing out her behaviour, ( behaviour she probably wants to hide), that means someone still remembers it. I guess Ragatha would try to talk to Jax, and make sure that their relations are still good, and Jax who doesn’t really like talking about his feelings, would tell her to backoff or something. And yeah, i guess Ragatha is aware that Jax doesn’t really like to talk about his feelings in front other people, but this time she wouldn’t let go, because she might think that Jax is so triggered because of her. So, she would desperately try to talk to him about it. And Jax being already triggered that someone is bothering him, about things like this - things he also tries to hide- he would make a mean or even cruel comment about it, and that would make Ragatha snap. I don’t think she’ll get abstracted, but she might just have breakdown or something similar. And knowing that next episode will be equally about Ragatha and Jax, Jax might be scared that because of him Ragatha would get abstracted, so he would kinda open up to her. Not much, but just a little, for example to tell her that him being so weird recently is not her fault, or just to apologise. I think that way, because goosworx said, that “there are lines, Jax wouldn’t cross”, and maybe this line is making other people abstracted? i think that Jax even being a jerk, wouldn’t try to abstract anyone on purpose. ( i mean, reason why he is hiding his true feelings and emotions is probably because he’s scared of losing his friends or people he loves, so he doesn’t want to open up much, because that would make their lost even more painful. So, abstracting anyone would be against it). And that would be really cool, to see both of them kinda trying to understand each other and opening up a little. After all Jax and Ragatha are really similar. or it’s just my crazy theory idk.
@@brzoza_x2797Yeah, I dont think Jax is evil at all. I feel like if he did abstract ragatha, it would unintentionally and he'd be traumatized or/and grow as a character. But tbh I love your theory and I feel like it makes more sense. I loveeee the idea of Jax talking to ragatha (although it makes him unconfortable) just to make sure she doesnt abstract. Thank you for sharing! :)
just look at all these glimpses into jax and ragatha's potential breakdown in the next two episodes...ep 4 made me put some serious theory investment into the bunny and the doll
i always imagined him as seeing himself as a bothering or annoyment to others, not for what he does (bc if it was for what he does, he would be tots right), but for who he is. perhaps he already has that idea on his head that no one will like him anyway, so why try to be friends with anyone? he prefers to hide behind that cheeky, mean persona of his so he can at least have the reassurance that ppl hate him for what he pretends he is, not what he actually is. this way, it hurts less. sort of similar to what i believe is ragatha's main conflict, but he faces it in a TOTAL different way lol. i have a whole ahh backstory for him but ig just what i said here can sum up my thoughts
i was so tired of having to sit back while everyone pretended that jax is some sort of fucked up monster psychopath only ever evil-doer and now i finally can sit back while people still pretend that jax is some sort of fucked up monster but NOW I GOT CONCRETE PROOF AGAINST IT
What if in Jax's episode he had a dream where he believed he was being chased by an abstracted figure only to turn around and realize that there was a mirror behind him portraying him as that abstracted being, before abruptly waking up.
i bet Jax was a victim of a lot of bullying in his pre-circus life. he puts on a tough exterior and is mean to people since that's how people treated him in the past. he's worried about people watching while he's vulnerable because in his old life, any vulnerability he showed would get him relentlessly bullied, so he learned to hide his true self. Jax probably had a terrible upbringing as a child, with lots of bullying, and I'd bet his parents weren't good to him either.
2:53 I think that she had tried to do that but gave up because she couldn’t. So I guess she’d leave the job to Pomni. But Pomni on the other hand doesn’t talk with Jax enough so that might either be an issue either not. Because he actually acts normal when he doesn’t talk enough with someone or is too pressured. We saw that in ep 4.
he looked like a very stressed and real, overworked employee
who hates his job.
maybe his antagonist behavior is just a coping mechanism to literally not abstract/lose it

Everyone has their own inner demons.
I always saw Jax as a Chaotic Neutral character. Hope episode 5 comes out in March or April at the latest.
What if in Jax's episode he had a dream where he believed he was being chased by an abstracted figure only to turn around and realize that there was a mirror behind him portraying him as that abstracted being, before abruptly waking up.
This is the best Digital Circus channel yet and I like it!
I feel like we’re gonna get a flashback episode where we see what specifically made Kaufmo abstract.
I had a dream tonight of the circus members going to a race adventear and Jax fell in love with a npc
It was so strange
I love these theory on what jaxs emotions really are and while watching this i came to slowly realize that i ALMOST act exactly what he does💀💀
Looks like that makes two buds
Thx to all those analyses I relate to him even more now ;--;
I wonder who is going to have the references to suicidal thoughts or smth cause it says at 3:18 "references to suicide" will happen eventually
did that subliminal video he watched in episode 4 actually work on him...?
So many unanswered questions
7:10 - 7:20 Uhuhuh, Episode 5 is "Haha", Episode 6 is "Guns" So we're gonna have to wait for GTA Jax sadly. XDD
