Apollo Chamber Players releases MoonStrike on the Grammy-winning label Azica Records, September 2, 2022. Featuring music by multiple Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winning composer JENNIFER HIGDON; Emmy-winning composer and Cultural Ambassador at the U.S. Department of State, JEROD IMPICHCHAACHAAHA’ TATE (Chickasaw); and Rome Prize-winning composer PIERRE JALBERT. With special guest narrator JOHN HERRINGTON, Chickasaw astronaut and the first American Indian citizen to fly in space. Cover and portrait art by DUSTIN MATER.
All three works were commissioned by Apollo Chamber Players as part of its 20x2020 project, launched in 2014 with a mission to commission 20 new multicultural works before the end of the last decade.
