I’ve got a C6 Z06 as well. Was my dream car as a kid. Just took it to my first track day last week. Watching these are very helpful/inspiring. Car ran hot toward the end and rear rotors cracked from heat/cooling so upgrades soon to come.

Glad you liked the video. Tracking sure is fun, but it does pay a toll on your car parts. Safe tracking!

Saw this video and then watch the rest of them about you adventures with the Z06. The mods you did were nice but I think there are a few that you need to do before anything else. I have been tracking corvettes since 2009. I started with a base C6 and modified it over the course of three years. I sold it and bought a 2011 C6 Z/Z07.
My home tracks are Road Atlanta, VIR Full, North and South course and Daytona. Tracking lead me to W2W endurance racing in a BMW and Miata for the last 5 years.
When I started tracking my car my first instructor told me that if this was a hobby I was serious about my first modifications should be safety related. He said get a proper race seat, harnesses, and a Hans. This goes for anyone for any make or model car. You will find that staying in a stock seat you will slide around and it can affect you concentration. Not to mention if you have an encounter with a wall. You track enough it’s not a matter of if, but when you have a significant off and damage you car.
As for the car mods you address the valve guild issue and that was a wise mod. You have a 2008 and that was the last year that had a 8qt oil tank. You need to upgrade the tank to the 10.5qt tank. GM made that change in the 2009 model. They learned the the 8qt was not enough oil and oil starvation would occur in high G right turns. You can end up spinning a rod bearing. That will usually cost you a motor. The second thing you need to do is add cooling ducts to the front brakes. You are heating up the brakes and getting fade. With the money you spent on the aero mods you could have bought a BBK for the front. Fast lap time come from confidence in your brakes and the brakes up to the punishment the Z can deal out.
You said you have cooling issues. Increased oil capacity will help with some cooling, but you probably need to upgrade the radiation to a Dewitt’s radiator. My car is a Z07 so it came with the ZR1 radiator. The ZR1 radiator is much larger than the stock Z and the Super charger takes a lot more cooling. The 2008 has a oil cooler in front of the radiator so that doesn’t help with the cooling. Make sure your air cleaner is free of dirt and blow the front of the radiator to make sure you don’t have any debris blocking it.
You need to also look at the shocks. If they have not been changed they can cause the suspension system to feel loose and not planted. Doug Rippie Motorsport at one time had Bilstein shocks that were revalved and Z owners reported that they made huge improvements in handling. I have magnetic ride in my Z so I can’t personally vouch for the shocks.
Last item you listed the tire sizes you went to with Hoosiers. The go to setup is 315/30/18. 345/35/18. This se up gives you A well balanced and neutral handling car. It responds well to trail braking and there is plenty of power from 2500 RPM thru 7000 on exit off on a turn. Also get a good track alignment. Check out AMT Motorsports. They have a camber kit for Corvettes. Well worth the money. I have the kit and I run the following set up with great tire wear on the track.
    Front -3.0 Camber
    Zero Toe
Castor as much as the alignment guy can get. Usually around 7.5
    Rear-2.0 Camber
    Toe in 1/16th
The Z06 is a blast to drive. The cost of tracking a Z is relatively cheap compared to a lot of other platforms. The best mod anyone getting into the hobby is to invest in instructor or coaching and seat time. My first instructor told me any knuckle head can mash the gas it’s about the braking, corner entry and exit off.
You have some great videos look forward to watching more in the future.

Certain cars are built for this right from the start. Brake pads, suspension, oil pans and baffles, plus having gauges for all this is key info. I had a 94' acura nsx with a supercharger and I spent 20k on parts and labor easily for various things. Its fun but expensive. If you want to drive the track for cheap than get a miata or lighter car with less consumables. Its not as cool looking but the heavy cars tend to wear on tires, brakes and other parts far more. Also, temps of everything is critical.

I was surprise that C6 ZO6 would have speeds of 150 MPH plus. I was looking forward to the 4th track report and hear how the upgrade help, but you can't change the weather. Will now you will have 6 month to check the car out and do more up grade. I guess it time to start working on the R-32 GTI Golf
