Our Project C6 Corvette is finally done! While starting with strong bones, the C6 needed quite a bit of work to get right, as it resembled it's likely old-man owner in need of some PT. Zack and Matt installed the following mods to breathe some life back into it!

@@OneIssueVoter Yeah kinda sketchy the only way to enter online is to buy a $49 coffee mug. Can get a ceramic, handmade in America coffee mug for less lmfao. Also requiring a "brief description on what winning the Grand Prize would mean to you" for the mail-in, but not for purchase seems to be in violation, as giveaways are random and not predicated on who has the best reason for winning. They want to have a contest or raffle, that's one thing, but this sure doesn't like a giveaway. Just a way for some middleman to make a bunch of money off of some poor quality, over-priced coffee mugs.

Really missing the reviews of older/modified cars. I (probably like many viewers) can’t afford the majority of the new cars you review. I realize there are valid reasons for you stepping away from this format, but they truly were my favorite videos that have appeared on this channel.
Its actually why alot of old fans left sadly but Matt got burnt out on doing them he did like 500. Zacks done some recent ones which were really good but don't seem to be getting traffic, I think RUclips just has a vendetta on veteran content makers in favour of younger, algorithm milkers.
They review enough affordable cars. Lot of those old videos with modified cars were very expensive to build or keep alive. I think its more about preference. Either you rather spent 20k on mods for 10k car, or you spent 30 on something newer and lease it.
It's also tough because... what older enthusiast cars have they not reviewed? ... Although Matt reviewing kei trucks could be pretty funny
When he stopped doing that, his channel lost about 80% of the views.
I'm with you there, I can't afford to pronounce the 'uh' in Porsche, let alone buy one 🤦♂️. My top 10 list of favorite TST vids would include both Rav4 One Takes👏
i'm still blown away at how the guy refurbed the seats... I genuinely never knew you could 'steam/reinflate' the bolsters in the seats....

Tasteful updates to this classic. Quieter exhaust is a plus. A tuned exhaust is more desirable over something built just for noise
I can’t stand straight piped cars, I think a high-quality exhaust system from a reputable company sounds way better than just chopping stuff off
Such a gorgeous car. New cars becoming so outrageous and expensive i feel like im being left behind because owning such a wonderful work of art with basic entertainment is all you need.
People complaining they aren't giving a brand new condition car. I'm sure whoever gets it will love it as is and gives him something to do.

The C6 is a good looking car, the red on black makes it even better. I have to say I like the looks 10 times more than the C8. Id enter to win, but I never win anything, I'm afraid if I want one I'll have to buy it.

@@MyKeeP81 Yeah, the interior is better on the C8 and its higher performance. The C6 is 20 years old, and I think the exterior is a cleaner classier design. The C8 has a big blocky rear end and the front looks busy, I'm not saying its not a good car, its over the top performance for my idea of canyon carving though. For me I would be looking more at Cayman or Supra level of performance. Price, performance, interior quality of the Supra is my level of sports car, kind of think its over styled though. There's a term in the crotch rocket world, zero to death in two seconds, sometimes extreme performance can kick you in the ass.
@@jeffk464 Lucky us that C6s are generally pretty affordable. At least in the NYC metro area, I consistently see them being sold for $25-35K with 20-35K which is reasonable for what you get
@@MyKeeP81 The C8 is nice to look at and I’m glad that the Corvette brand is taking on a more global stage in representing American carmakers, but I’d want literally any form of the C1-C7 before a C8. A C3 with side pipes or a cammed C6 Z06 is infinitely cooler than a C8, including the C8 Z06, IMO. The exotic look and sound appealed more to me as a kid, I started liking older stuff as I entered my 20s lol

Great mods!... I love how you kept the famous Corvette creeks and rattles.
Sounds like a nice setup maintaining the grand touring aspects while providing greater confidence when pushed in the twisties.
Cool C6. I wasn't a fan of the chrome finish on the previous wheels, but the black finish on the new wheels was the wrong move. Just looks like big black voids in the car now. Easy enough to change up in the future.
Yeah I would have prefered a grey/satin finish, but as you said the winner can do whatever he wants with them.
Matt said on IG that he would have preferred silver or gray as well but that they were really pressed for time on this build. Easy enough to fix for the winner by sending the wheels off to powdercoating.

I love you guys but you gotta make the items more enticing than a 5 dollar coffee cup with a shitty stencil on it. Like other channels, it would be nice to have some cool merch when you don’t win.
In 10-15 years chrome wheels will come back with a vengeance! My 8 year old thinks they look baller.
Chrome wheels are ok. Those particular ones look badly. I am not also a big fan of black wheels, visually they get lost in the wheel arch.
I would rather prefer wheels to be painted in grey.
Problem is that they’re so darn heavy

I understand it’s an older car that used to be referred to as “plastic fantastic” but I couldn’t get past all the creaking and road noise on the interior shots.
The magnaflow mufflers will break in and get a touch louder

@@gky3019ou’re right man. I’d be sooo pissed if after receiving a free car I had to take out one screw and replace a light bulb for under $5. That would take up an extremely valuable 90 seconds of my time, I don’t think I’d ever recover.

@@XanMan1980 they talked about how the seats are safety equipment and how they improved everything so they should just swap the brake light bulb before they gift it. Also if it's enough to fail inspection it's a good enough reason not to gift it to someone with that

When you want it to sound good without drone, especially for American Muscle, you gotta go Corsa. You can get it as loud as you want without drone. This Magnaflow is disappointingly quiet... they should have had drone-free exhaust figured out a decade ago.
What it needed is a paint correction haha
Impossible with old GM paint. 😅 wrap it, if you have to.
I think that’s something they’ll do before handover? The 135i definitely got some cosmetic treatment

@@TML34I had an excellent paint correction done on my 06 leman blue c6. Granted it was a 36k mile car when I got it.

They could have serviced the tied rod ends, they look worn and broken; 9.25. Safety feature… What about the window tint? Will they be replaced?

Matt has full detailing capabilities at WCCS using AMMO products. I’m sure it’ll get a full detail (maybe not Larry spec 😂) before it moves on to the new owner.

Needed a Corsa or Borla S type exhaust. Magnaflow was the grandpa-boomer option.
S-Type is boomer magnaflow comparable. You want the Borla Atak or any Corsa for vettes
@@Motorsportsgeek I sold my Corsa’s for an S type and was extremely happy with it. Of course they need to be hooked up to long tubes but the Borla system idled much better than the corsa

Great series and hope the new owner is happy. I certainly wouldn't have spent (wasted?) the money like you guys did, but kudos regardless. Why are the new rotor hubs still rusty? Makes the black wheels look even worse. One word: Michelin. Why is the expensive suspension set to "soft"? Again, I get that you get sponsor freebies, but... Luv you guys!

I know this is a c6 but this makes me miss my c7. I had a Lotus Evora GT and now have an Aston Vantage after the c7, and had 3 gens of the Porsche Cayman S before it, with a few bmw, Mercedes, jags, and another evora before… the corvette is the only one I really miss…. Well maybe the 981 gen cayman almost as much, but that c7 fit “me” the best.

Great job on the maintenance and reskinning the OEM seats. Blacked out wheels were a downgrade IMHO. Chrome wheels were an expensive and iconic option.

You have to go to the main page of the site that’s running the auction. I pointed this out in the first video. I don’t trust a company that doesn’t put the rules on the page for the auction item. I doubt they use any of those submissions.

Most likely the top. Mine squeaks when the chassis moves. And my c6 only has 13k miles.

The murdah'd out, all-black-everything look was played out over a decade ago, and someday will probably be viewed as one of my generation's winga dinga excesses. (Matt already sounds like a boomer talking about it.) It's only marginally less gross to me than that boomer pepboys chrome. But it was still an improvement. Love the detail paid to less obvious things like the exhaust and suspension. Getting the OEM seats redone seems like a great idea over tossing in flash race buckets. Sounds like the winner is going to have a great example of a C6
