My mom used to do it mostly when I was at school so it took me much later in life to feel like I’m starting to get a handle on it. Thanks for the video. Beautiful room.

Now we have reached the point where we tidy up BEFORE watching your new postings 🙃. The motivating effect works even better that way! I guess it’s a bit like hypnosis, where the words “Erica Lucas” get us off the couch, straight towards an area that needs attention 😂
Room looks nice. Consider setting a deadline for the pictures. They are either up by next Friday (or whenever you choose) or they’re being donated. You may think they’re special but it takes 5 seconds to hammer a nail in the wall and if they’re not worth 5 seconds then they’re really not that important. Don’t worry about perfectionist hanging, eyeball it and stick it up.

She and I generally got everything done in an hour or two at most. Noon was the magic hour. She wanted a half day to “play” herself. To be fair, we had a very small house and only 4 people. But I never houseclean past noon on Saturdays myself now.

@EricaLucasLoves scarfs are a "gateway drug" 🤪 before the internet, yes there was such a time.....when people would ask me to "teach" them how to crochet they would bring these fancy dancy patterns and I'd have to burst their bubble and tell them they were going to start with a scarf. You can learn about yarn difference, stitch differences, kind of stitches, how to count stitches and rows making a scarf, then if you want to, you can frog it out at the end, but now I just send them to the Internet. I am no teacher, I don't have the patience for it. So yay for the Internet and tutorials.

Wow was all that hair from only 1 weeks worth or do you lean the bedroom every 2 or 3 weeks? Love your dogs, so cute, but yes create some work. I am in the midst of painting my kitchen cupboards and yikes I’m finding dirt, webs, etc. in places I don’t clean as often. I had no idea but now plan to deep clean once per month in the kitchen to cut that back. I’m planning to finish painting and then deep clean it. I really don’t like painting but it needed it. I'd love for you to have a camera in your master bedroom (and not for reasons you might think) 😉 I can't for the life of me figure out why, for instance, your kids karate gear, games, hair clips, etc., end up in your bedroom. I think you would benefit from a rule I adopted years ago with my kids -- the master bedroom is OFF LIMITS to kids (except in emergencies of course). Once I made that rule, the rest of the house might be a disaster, but my husband and I always could retire to a clutter free room. You'd be amazed at what a difference it would make!
Did you know, if you wear supportive shoes while cleaning, you won't get tired as fast, you'll get more done, and you'll do a better job? If your family doesn't wear shoes in the home for cleanliness purposes, then get a pair of good sneakers to wear only in the house. You will be amazed at the difference this makes to your cleaning day.
I need your expertise. I’m having trouble trying to declutter my friends paper work. He has dementia and we live together. I know you have said don’t declutter other peoples stuff, but all the paperwork has been piling up and he doesn’t throw away anything. I do I break this cycle of piling papers?
