I'm gob smacked Richard , just blown away . You have every right to be proud of your work . A professional to your finger tips
As a 73 year old English man it is wonderful to see such a dedicated and highly skilled person with incredible attention to detail producing such amazing work.
Thanks Alan great to hear from you.
What a simply beautiful car. The, by now, long dead designers of the XK150 would never have imagined that they were designing a car that would still be running 70 years after it was built. However, it's a testament to their skills, the love of the owners and yourself that is now still with us, and in a condition better than it ever left the factory. If any of the assembly line workers that put that car together are still alive, they are now approaching or in their 90s. I wonder what they think?
I've owned seven of the older jags including an XK150S roadster, but the 150 coupe was the one I ultimately wanted but never owned. Thanks for the tour of this gorgeous model.
Master craftsmanship all round, great seeing this old cat tastefully restored to better than new condition. Absolute credit to everyone involved.
Netflix could make a 3 part documentary in Rudi's garage; incredible.
I've loved this series, kept me fascinated during lock-downs. Unlikely I'll ever have the wherewithal to have you restore a Jaguar and ship it back to the UK, but I'll buy another lottery ticket now just in case...
Congratulations to you and your Dad, Richard. You must be so proud. What a piece of art!
Quel magnifique résultat !! Jaguar , c·est un autre monde et Michael aussi !!...Congratulations ...
This is it ! Il n'y a pas au dessus.Sublime.
How does one describe this video in a few words,... Near Perfection, comes to mind, Well done Richard.
Thanks for the segment with Rudi, it was most enjoyable.
So viel beautiful nice
cars.....Perfect !.......2/ 2023 siehe auch " Reperaturbleche " an seinem geliebten Hut !
I had a 150 in old English white with red leather interior in 1973 in the UK. Watching this reminds me of what a superb car it was.
WOW we are honored that you show us this :)
You should be so proud of what you have achieved, IT IS BEAUTY
Richard I know you are a great lover of originality BUT you and this customer have come to an agreement on a absolutely stunning car.
I'm SORRY I can't resist is that a new wiring harness. Just busting you.
What an amazing car collection that gentleman has.
I think I feel I have just died and visited "Automotive Heaven". You've done a wonderful job on the XK 120 Richard, and thanks for taking us all along to Rudi's.
Gary, its a n XK 150 mate
@@graham6229 yes of course, ta...
Absolutely exquisite! Very well done.
Floor mounted pedals, “…reminds me of a 911” 😂. Good for you on calling that out !
WOW MAN! LUV D HELL OUTTA THAT JAG! I'm a Jag lover! Kinda reminds me of my 1963 TR 3's 64 TR4 N A 67 TR6 Triumph's I used to have N Luv Bk in D 80's! Same kind of rims motor N carbs I saw there! Now I got a 2003 S-type Jag I'm tryin to get bk in shape! Nothn like D old Jags thou but it takes W/It takes! Luv D job U did on that Beautyful Jag! Congrats! WOW!
RMO waited weeks and weeks and weeks for this episode checked online every morning, stunning final episode and your guy Rudi should be required watching, away to kiss my 150 now , thanks so much for the series Richard, will miss it
Top quality work, Richard!
That tour of Rudi's museum/shop was over the top. What a genuine, nice man- it must have been fun to work for him in the heyday. I learned a great deal about Jaguars from this series, and I noticed so many similarities between the Jaguar and Astons that I suffer with- I mean work on. Even the shape of the upper part of the rear view mirror and those special slotted attachment screws. The carb access panel was copied on the DB4-DB6 cars as well. Just a pleasure to watch and your narration is always very good. Your customer must be thrilled with her, and good on him for his good choices. Lastly, you're 1000% right about all those restoration shows, especially the ones with the fake deadlines. They don't show you the horrors of component failures, parts delays, incorrect parts, etc. Overall, a very enjoyable series and a wonderful finished product.
Your Wurth guy must love you for putting his kids thru college :)
Cheers, Tom
My GF always says: “In 50 or 60 years, no one’s gonna give a shit about finding a Hyundai Sonata in a barn.”
The Jag and it's journey from start to finish was great but Rudi's presentation was incredible. Has obviously had a very successful business and is now enjoying the fruits of his labor.👍
Nice video of a beautiful Jaguar.
I am British Racing Green with envy. So sorry this series is over, I love your attention to detail and passion for automotive art work. Congratulations on your masterpiece.
Wowww..one of the best videos I have ever seen..stunning British cars..thanks..
Awesome Richard! So great to have Rudi give you his stamp of approval. I thought he might cry. It really is great to see the tradition not only carried on but with so much passion. Cheers!
I thought *I* might cry ! Getting the stamp of approval from such a mentor is really something else ! 😊
Hi, I'm an 87 yr old Army veteran that has owned and raced 31 Jaguars in my past, from 3 MKV,s to several V-12 cars. I raced a c model during my stint in Germany 1954 thru 1957. I really enjoyed the Mark !V. I/ve never had one. I've seen 2 others in the past, tried unsuccessfully tried to buy them. Excellent work on the 150. I had a drop head 150 in Virginia in 1966. Keep upthe excellent work.
Richard, thank you so much for sharing this, I have no words... Speechless
Great episode. The videos choreography and music showcase your beautiful island, beautiful cars and attention to detail. Thank you.
OUTSTANDING JOB.
I loved every XK 150 episode.
You should be very proud.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow! Best episode ever! Thanks for bringing us along Richard. I feel privileged to get a glimpse at all these classic beauties.
Wonderful wonderful cars. If there was a word to take you beyond perfect, then it could be used during the description of some of these wheeled artworks. Thank you so much for sharing these beauties with us Richard, and please pass on my own heartfelt compliments to your dear friends. 🙏🇬🇧
Very nice. Outstanding restoration. Beautiful.
XK150 is my favorite...good job Michael.
Thanks Richard for all the insights on the XK150. You put a lot of Ah!s into many of my Uh?s. Such dedication to detail. Congratulations on an amazing project.
In a word, Awesome, absolutely Awesome Richard.
Just came across your series and have been watching almost continuously for days! Excellent.
i once owned a 56/ 57 mk 1 that xk brought tears to my eyes magnificent
You have outdone yourself Richard. This program is a keeper. Thank you!
A very honest assessment. A restoration mutates into a development project once resembled, which can be depressing. “don’t mess with Mona Lisa!” Never a truer word said! Very pleasing, you appreciate these British cars and invest so much time and money in them.An absolutely cracking job!
I feel young again ! - driven most of these models "at speed" with the exception of the Morgans, including delivering a few new Sunbeam Tigers from London to Dusseldorf where I worked for Rootes there. Thanks again Richard & Rudi 😉for a demonstration on just how these vehicles should be restored.
She looks fantastic, worth the wait for the customer. 2x👍
Wonderfull episode , all i like about automobile passion
It looks fabulous you should be very proud of it, it's better than new and I'm sure the owner will be thrilled with the way the car has turned out.
What a delicious video. The Jag turned out a true masterpiece. And what to say about Mr. Koniczek and his fabulous collection? Wow!
I love the XK 150 but I still believe the XK 120 is my favorite.
I was a kid in the 50s , when he 150 came out I thought what an old fashioned car ,, now I think its beautiful
Congratulations to You your Father and all your support Team . The XK 150 is fantastic . A dream come true for the Owner. Also a thank you to Rudi for letting us view his Girls totally unblievable-Mind Boggling
Wishing I was back on Vancouver Island again.
Cheers Richard from Hamilton, Ontario!
A fantastic restoration Richard and what a nice and very interesting man Rhudi is. Kind regards, Richard
You have done a fantastic restoration ,you should be very proud of the end result, to have Rudi congratulate you is huge. Awesome videos I really enjoy them.
I had one in Pearl Grey. Sublime.
The Jag is stunning! Keep the videos coming! 🇦🇺🍺🍺
Kudos to you Richard and involved in the restoration of the XK 150. I’ve followed the project from the beginning and watching & listening to the passion put into the car I never expected anything less when seeing the final product. Thanks for the walk around at Rudy’s, absolutely awe inspiring workmanship. I’m going to have to find a quiet spot & watch the video again. Maybe on one of our beautiful Cotswolds roads, pull into a lay bye and drool over all of those pieces of mechanical art.
Thanks for taking us along on the journey, every episode has been a pleasure to watch.
Regards from England 🏴👏👏👏
wonderful finale to a great restoration ...hope the owner enjoys the car as much I enjoyed watching you putting it together...
Fantastic finale to the XK150 project Richard, thx very much again! Really well produced with clear, helpful explanations 👏👏. The tour of Rudi's garage was an added bonus 👍. Looking forward to the next series, and chatting with you again soon.
A truly magnificent job Richard, absolutely top,top class.
Your narration all through the series is what I appreciate/ have been looking for on youtube videos. No reluctance to explain how to and why. Even in jag clubs, details are held close to the vest( members are frequently repair shops). These how-to's encourage me to regain motivation( xk140 mc rdstr.) Fine job, and much appreciated. Thanks.
Beautiful!! Brakes, pipes, Tremec.. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Fabulous job! One lucky owner.
Really enjoyed this series, learned lots and it was nice to meet your “mentor” Rudy
Congrats a real beaut Jag.
What an amazing car, and what amazing work! Just such a wonderful video to watch, pure class all the way. And those BMW motorcycles... wonderful.
Cars most of us could only ever dream of owning and driving.
Fantastic, just Fantastic XK150 restoration. Rich and Dad go straight to the "Top of the Class" amazing video and what a great visit to Rudi's garage what a Man!! I am just so sick in the guts with Jealousy!! Looking forward to your next video? Cheers from Down Under.
Richard, a man with your great talent and commitment to detail no longer needs approval from past masters, you are one already! Congratulations on your latest masterpiece ~ absolutely beautiful.
Nicely done all around.
Richard - Well worth the wait and the end result was outstanding! Thanks for the tour of the finished project and especially the visit with Rudi and his 'girls!'
Awesome! So beautiful and clean; I would hate to drive it as it will never be as pristine as it is today.
My only comment here Richard Michael : 😳🤩 !
No, really, what a fabulous job you have done on this magificient car ! I'm in awe !
I've been foloowing you since your budget rebuild of the scrap yard engine with the help and counselling of your Dad for your own E-Type of some years ago.
And now to this extraordinary shall we say logical "resto-mod" car for your fortunate Florida client.
The visit to your mentor was poignant. I felt Rudi's pride while appreciating your work. And your own nervousness getting his approval.
That was so loaded with emotions ! ❤️
It reminded me of my own reunion with a high school teacher who had a dramatic influence in my life. Me, being so shy and timid, bullied all the time.
I was so proud to show him what I'd become because of him.
If I may, you with the help of media friends MUST do a documentary on this unusual man. Only his tool box by itself is a testimony of great years and anecdotes !
I could'nt help noticing the BRE sticker on it. Being a serious Datsun fan of the era, I'd REALLY like to know his involvement with them !
Rudi and his past employees, now artisans on their awesome own. There are so many few craftsmen nowadays !
Richard Michael, you're now invested with the bright continuation and preservation of your Dad and Rudi's artwork. You have no choice, *mon ami* !
Cheers !
Marc from Varennes, Québec
PS Aaaah, the sound of a Jag straight six. Unmistakable ! Unique.
That guy is cool the cars as well
Great finale Richard! Congratulation on this excellent restoration. You definitely set a high bar with the standards you followed. It was a great journey watching you and a great inspiration on my own restorations. Thanks and congrats again, Chris
Absolutely magnificent! I truly enjoyed watching this build. The attention to detail, superb craftsmanship and knowledge of processes, parts, history and all the nuances of restoration are impressive. Congratulations!
The goosebumps when I saw the garage
Fantastic work 👏👏👏👍
What a superb result on the XK, really well done! And that collection!
Bravo... so so enjoyable. What a treat!
Richard, Congratulations! A job well done!! If Rudi approves, you know you've kicked butt. Really enjoyed the tour of his garage too. He seems like such a cool and humble man. Cheers to you both!
Congratulations and thanks, Richard. And to all the team. It has been a truly absorbing and inspirational series. They truly are automotive art works.
Great job all round... 😎
Thanks Paul, really happy with how the body, paint and fittings came together on this one
What a fabulous restoration! Hats off to you and your dad for incredible attention to detail. Thank you for sharing this series with us. I can’t wait for the next one.
That is a gorgeous XK150, I really enjoyed following this series, keep up the good work! All the best from Holland!
Wooow !! What a exceptional automobile 🚘 you have built 😃. And your friend really have some amazing cars to, especially the 62 Morgan - WOW man !!! It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. Thanks a lot for everything man, I'm just flabbergasted 😲 again !!
I love watching you and your Dad at work. Great car restorations
Top job and what a collection Rudi has there absolutely awesome.
Wonderful accolade, richly deserved. His collection is simply stunning.
Wow, such a beautiful car in such a sensational setting. You may be losing the use of the car Michael, but your keeping the setting and as someone who lives in a similar setting in Cheshire England, I know which would be the more painful to lose. Fantastic work, by you and God.
Wonderful job. And the trip to Rudi’s was great.
Absolutely amazing collection of cars by your friend. Priceless. Congrats on your XK150 completion, a truly beautiful automobile. As always, thank you for sharing the video. Cheers
Fantastic detailed restoration Richard, the showroom was amazing, what a collection of fantastically preserved and restored cars. Thank you.
I was really looking forward to your final reveal of that beautiful Jag.! Amazing!
Crikey,
I was ready to give him a reach around as well.😎
Excellent video tying things up.
Absolutely beautiful resto.
Beautiful
Drive the things please, rag them as intended. Put some patina on them. Absolute respect for your skills, patience, ability. I will look up from the start and see if I have the patience to watch let alone do the work. I am fortunate to have owned a few cars I loved but ran them all every day use. Etype, Wood and Pickett Mini Cooper, then modded modern and now electric modded. Not one to stand admiring in a show or car park. Very, very skilled men indeed.
What can a mere human being say, simply superb. Jaguar is probably one of the very few things that makes me proud to be British. I have watched so many restoration shows, probably too many if you were to ask my wife, and I this car is up there with the best. If you or anyone watching has not yet latched onto Retropower Cars RUclips channel, it is definitely worth checking out. Although I am more a lover of your style of thinking and restoration' i.e. originality before modification, their jobs are probably better on a point of the future rust proofing of the car. That being said, I will follow your channel now with interest.
Thanks Bob, yes retro power go a step farther with their hot zinc spray, but really modern paints and cavity spray are good enough
@@RichardMichaelOwen Hi Richard, lovely to talk to you. I think you're right. There's something about being able to see what's going on. How many times have we come across galvanised steel with rust under the zinc? Also, they use a thick coat of raptor, which also means rust can be festering away underneath completely hidden until it's far too late.
Looks like someone left off the flat washers on the u-bolts that hold the rear axle to the leaf springs. The are needed to evenly spread the load on the nuts screwed onto the u-bolts, even though the nuts were double-nutted.
Excellent job Richard! Really impressed with your work, you’re a Picasso or a Michelangelo of car restoration..👍👍
What a brilliant series on this XK150 restoration. Congratulations superb work by yourself and your team.
Wow! Congratulation. it turned out beaitufully. it was a nice journey to follow...
Really nice. I restored a 1967 S Type and it was so great
