Alternative dwellings are great when it's your choice to choose to live that way, but do you ever wonder why less of us are able to buy a traditional home?
The answer simply is currency debasement. The answer more deeply is answered in my new podcast

This is my absolute dream I think. There was a picture book I was fascinated with as a child, called 'Where does the teacher live?' and the teacher lived on a house boat. Considering everything these days, I think this would be an absoloute wonderful calming lifestyle. Congratulations and thank you for the video of your beautiful boat life.
I realise that your vlog is geared to a North American audience, however in Australia it is referred to as the bush rather than the jungle. Not a biggie just wanted to let you know. 😊😊
This was a great video. I liked when this lady told about fishing out of her window, bringing in the fish, and cooking it up. I would love this as well. My concern would be if it is too cold in the winter or safe during a storm. I hope that she enjoys many more years on her house boat.
I have a diesel heater which heats the whole boat now…a recent addition…on a swing mooring you just swing around in the wind…the mooring checked every year..so very safe.

Pauline, Glad to hear this. That is great. Hope you will always enjoy this house boat. It is so nice. I just love it but fishing has always been a thing with me. One of my fondest memories as a child was staying on a house boat for a few days while school was out during the summer.
I am SO sorry about your sister! MS is a tough one so I understand that too but still so sad. And you have a wonderful home! ❤
Real freedom, peace and quiet well done
Beautiful lady with a beautiful life! Lovely home!
Love this boat and this lady she has a great out look on life
Doing what you love to do, not taking no for an answer, living your dream, you’re an inspiration …keep dancing ❤️❤️❤️
I've watched this a few times now and keep coming back to it. Lovely person with a great attitude. I feel like I know her. I'd love to shout that women a hot cup of tea and scones at the Marina and enjoy a chat.
Such a beautiful life and you’re living the best life
Sometimes it takes something tragic to make us take that leap of faith. I would love to live on a houseboat … if anyone ever needs a houseboat sitter I’m your handyman! 😁
Beautiful home!
Wow. She is amazing 😍
What jungle is that??? Looks more like suburban Berowra Waters, Sydney.
Hahaha love that.
She living the life many only dream. Would be so peaceful and relaxing.
Lovely story ...good on you 🎉
I want you as my grand mother , I bet your 17 grand kids , sons etc love your life style . You have what a lot of people want to have , Freedom , fishing and just a lay back life . . But as you said , you need the money etc . Sorry to hear your sister pass on , any how stay safe and watch that step .
Great video! What a wonderful life!
What was the device for sanitized water & where is it available? Thanks for sharing.
Watermakers australia
Available at Watermakers aistralia
So expensive!! But I like her adventurous attitude 👏🏻😊
$60k for the boat $200k in renovating the boat not worth it plus cost of docking the boat too expensive living on this boat. 🤑🤑🤑
@@allentam5754 compared to buying/renting a house or flat in the area way cheaper, and the costs no where as expensive for one. Great views too.
@@allentam5754my house is 1.3 million in brisbane . it’s far cheaper than our realestate . dicing would be about 200 per week instead of 850 a week in rent .
Awesome video, thank you.
Can We please get an update once all her new glass windows are in & she's set up her living area etc? Also, where does her kids, grandkids sleep when they come?
her grand kids when there for Christmas (summertime in Australia ) slept up on the upper decks in what we call swags, which are bascially waterproof sleeping bags with bug covers (some are more like individual tents beds.. she said she had five out of 17 and there are two bunk beds in the second bedroom.
Wow 17 grandchild. Did she mean the kids jumped off the deck into the water????? Aren’t there crocks? I really like this women. The video was good. Her home is cool!!!!!!
You have to budget for insurance, taxes, mooring fees, repairs, etc. I can see it being an option to living in a RV
Beautiful home.
Pauline I want to be your neigbour on the water. Brilliant!
She’s a REAL WOMAN!
🙄🙄🙄
Australia doesn't have a jungle. Juz sayin. Lovely home. 👍☺
You bet that Australia has got a jungle!!! It's just called Rainforest here. It's in FNQ (Far North Queensland). I've been there many times, hiking, mountain biking or swimming in the rivers there
Except for the mosquitos this would be a dream
Looks amazing. Where is she located?
wow very nice video
$70 a week for your run about is a lot. $4k a year?
I’m thinking of doing the same! How would I get in touch with the lovely lady?
What part of Australia is she in?
Looks like the Brooklyn area north of Sydney in NSW.
@@sharonadlam3195 thanks
@@sharonadlam3195
Lol, yeah. I was thinking Berowra Waters. Some big houses in that "jungle" 😅.
@@sharonadlam3195 Berowra Waters
Anybody To tell me if she has docking fees for her dinghy when she goes shopping
She pays $70 per week for a permanent dock for the tender boat at the Marina.
What a woman 😘
👍🌳🎥
Is there no danger in the water, bull sharks, crocs, other things. Cannot believe it is safe for kids and dogs.
Yes - Bull Sharks are a real danger where the boat is. No Crocs she is in Sydney.
@@SonyJimable Bull sharks are not a real problem during the day. Maybe at dawn, dusk or at night time.
I would chenge the aliminium on the windows to plastic
id love to talk to pauline! my partner and I want to do it!
Is she ever concerned about salty's in freshies crocodiles?
Salt water…no crocs
@@paulinestone6116 That's good 👍 I use to work with gators and crocs and our salty was the scariest. 🙏🙏
@@paulinestone6116You win the award for the most idiotic and uninformed comment on You Tube this year . I suggest you do some research before you go swimming in Northern Australia .
@@paulinestone6116 there are crocs in salt water.
She is near Sydney, the closest crocs are about 1600km (1000mi) north.
She’s getting ripped off on the cost i live way cheaper than she does on my house boat 😊
I thought that using 12 volt saved money and 240 drained your solar but I am not positive about that if someone would like to let me know if I have been confused about that for a while now I guess if I am wrong 😮🫢???😊👌😃
