From my understanding of the song and lyrics, they’re not the ones trapped but the ones running the maze! And I think there’s a double meaning to it like telling people they’ll never get out of being fans or listening to their music. Because in their lore, they’re the goblins. And they turn in to the blue fire again at the end.
