Kernel-level anti-cheat systems are pretty much the norm for competitive shooters these days. The big difference with Valorant’s anti-cheat is that it activates right when you start up your PC. So, there is no point in being scared of something most people do not understand. Also, if developers wanted to do something malicious, they wouldn’t need to make the anti-cheat kernel-level, the mere installation of the game would be enough to compromise most people.
This is only half-true, kernel level malware would have a way easier time getting access to more sensitive data while being way harder to detect and the need for constantly running in the background is a large red flag pointing to possibly malicious behaviour. Also don't forget the Vanguard is backed by Tencent and in extention the Chinese Government which would have great interest in such backdoors too.
I get where you’re coming from regarding kernel-level malware and the risks it poses, especially with something like Valorant’s Vanguard. It’s definitely concerning that it could access sensitive data and be harder to detect. The fact that it runs constantly in the background is indeed a big red flag for potential malicious behavior. That said, I think it’s important to distinguish between different types of kernel-level anti-cheat systems. Not all of them are inherently bad or malicious. While Vanguard’s implementation might be questionable, it doesn’t mean every kernel-level anti-cheat is the same. I don’t believe the video creator intended to confuse people or make them think all kernel ACs are the same. It’s crucial to have a more nuanced discussion about these technologies and their implications for privacy and security.
It’s an incredible amount of trust to put into a video game company to secure a) their kernel implementation and b) their production systems that communicate with their driver. Both are possible to be compromised and could have devastating impact
Had the same first thought about the run jump throw binds, because i used it for like 10 smokes I often throw in my Faceit games. Tried it already yesterday evening and what can I say it's piss easy. Just hold Left click then press w and spacebar at the same time and also releas left click in the same moment, boom done. Tried it for alle 10 smokes and it works as reliable as with my bind before
I got accustomed to some jump throw binds but I know it’s actually easier in CS2 so it shouldn’t affect me too much. It’s always nice getting a definitive statement from valve who usually keeps things on the DL.
I was able to get w jump throws down within 10-15 minutes of practicing. What I like about this change is that w jump throws are now EXTREMELY skill based, as the window to hit them narrows with how precise the throw is. Since CS2 operates on subtick, it's not a 1/64 or 1/128 frame window to hit the w key before you throw, it can be as low as .1ms due to how movement is calculated and this doesn't change based on whether you're playing 64 tick mm or 128 tick on like faceit and whatnot. Basic jump throws are much more simple, because the functionality is the same within a certain time frame (which seems to be about 150ish ms).
I'm a big advocate for binging back skyboxs or at least some iteration of them where you can smoke of pivitale points on the map with in the first few seconds of the round. One example being CT mid and T mid on ancient. If you or someone on your team doesn't know them you essentially cant go mid at the beginning of the round, I also just think that map is horrible as it is but that's a topic for another day. Taking binds out of the game was good for it period.
they made jump throws easier as cs2 came out, I also kept using my binds but I already tried it u can still easily hit w+jump throws, like rly rly easy
For the instant window smoke on mirage you don't need a jumpthrow bind, just practice how to click spacebar and W and realease mouse1 at the same time, I struggled at first but after a couple of tries I master it. Dont give up!
Removing snap tap is amazing but removing jump throw is really unnecessary and is going to have a huge impact on everyone including pro scene in a very negative way
It sucks for so many window smokes and to an extent it’s a skill issue but also throwing is so inconsistent, every time you middle click something or w jump throw it lands differently and not just slightly, so overall good change but kinda need to change throwing mechanics
nope you wrong on that, at least about the w+jump throws dunno about the double click. U just have to not actually start moving, press w and spacebar for a rly short moment and at the same time, also realease left click at the same moment lands the same always. I was worried aswell when I saw the update yesterday evening instantly went on some maps to try my smokes, I hit them 100/100 times
man, snap tap was the oly reason i played this game, yall start crying immediatly but you also have been okay with jump binds for ages. at least both is gone
unless you’ve used one of the keyboards don’t say it’s a good idea to take it out. using socd makes your movement less predictable for the user and if they accidentally have a key overlay than instead of not moving which they may want now they are moving in a direction not intended. i can understand playing on a normal board and being upset but if you use the boards you can tell they are just really good for response time as you can set actuation and just good for mouse keyboard sync. the keyboard isn’t like your strafes are going to be pro level and you’ll be hitting every shot along with not getting shot. a garbage player can buy a wooting and they’ll have a nice keyboard but they’ll still be garbage.
Good job with stoping snap tap. But my jump on scrollwheel down and space is not a cheat. Same as the jump throw. Try to od jump throw with mousewheel jump. Its good but it still needs some fixes
im sorry but kernel level anti cheat is the way in age where people download cheats before they even play game and everyone going against it especially if its not even chinese company has something to hide
I agree with you in term of Valorants anti-cheat .I used to play since My friends find CS very hard and not fun . One of the major thing i have noticed that as it runs in the background taking memory causing you to crash or not be able to play heavy programs which also cause damage to the processor.
It doesn’t run in the background when the game isn’t on, the process you see lingering in the task tray is purely there to stop anyone from tampering with the anti-cheat.
Valve remove important things for anti cheat that he can’t create 🤣🤣😂😂. Full of cheaters still playing and cs 2 devs cheat is updating , it will get worse as before , gg nice valve
anybody defending external software saying it isnt a cheat clearly doesnt understand the literal definition 😂😂😂
W take
some 3party software is good like msi afterburner
Uff that knife wiff at 3:11 hahah
I know😅😅

Last point is actually super valid

I started one year ago with CS
Since then I try to master lineups, which is challenging
Not using binds at all (didn’t even know it was possible)
W update by Valve ! I will miss my instant spawn smokes on mirage tho :(
Its rly easy, you can still throw them
they made jump throws easier as cs2 came out, I also kept using my binds but I already tried it u can still easily hit w+jump throws, like rly rly easy
I do agree that this is one of the more exciting update categories that we have gotten indeed

this!!!!

love the doppler man if i were u i would get some moto gloves polygon (i know they are cheap but it would be a nice combo i think)
It sucks for so many window smokes and to an extent it’s a skill issue but also throwing is so inconsistent, every time you middle click something or w jump throw it lands differently and not just slightly, so overall good change but kinda need to change throwing mechanics

it's not abt the skill it takes to jump throw, its easy, it's abt the consistency the bind has
man, snap tap was the oly reason i played this game, yall start crying immediatly but you also have been okay with jump binds for ages. at least both is gone
Hustle, Hustle don't stop !!!

I dont even mind jump trow bind thing, as long as they fix cheater problem. They can always come back to fix it later.
what's your viewmodel?
Nice dark water and the chainmail mag 7 is goated
I had snaptab but i dint use it lol. I Think its a skill issue . but thanks Valve for doing some thing finaly
totally agree with this take W
2 things they still can't fix. Match making and cheating. These changes are stupid if you still have cheaters or incorrect match making.
Good job with stoping snap tap. But my jump on scrollwheel down and space is not a cheat. Same as the jump throw. Try to od jump throw with mousewheel jump. Its good but it still needs some fixes
I have 1,3 k hours and i didn't even know you could bind all this stuff, ofc that's on me but i kind of understand why they would remove it.
Good stuff!
I hope testing will be done quickly
I don’t know but snaptap didn’t make me any better 😅
3:03 That's painful to watch
we'll see don't get your hopes up, also L jumpthrow removal.
im sorry but kernel level anti cheat is the way in age where people download cheats before they even play game and everyone going against it especially if its not even chinese company has something to hide
100% agree with ya

Not saying that kernel anti cheats are good, I’d still rather having my pc safe from potential security exploits.
@@_zapper
I don't get what you are saying. Are you agreeing or disagreeing ?
Hope they bring back jumpthrow binds…manual jumpthrow aint working right (isn’t consistent) so that will fck up your matches
Nah twin
it is since cs 2
Just release left click in the same moment u hit spacebar or spacebar+w and it lands 1000/1000 times
they updated it in cs2, you dont need binds to jumpthrow consistently. For a while i didnt use binds at all and i hit all my smokes
@@TROLGUY999 what he says

W Update
OH MY LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i bought that keyboard and its good but i wont use it i just bought it due to it being cool and wanted to try it
Valve remove important things for anti cheat that he can’t create 🤣🤣😂😂. Full of cheaters still playing and cs 2 devs cheat is updating , it will get worse as before , gg nice valve
6:05 Nice aim
Thanks NotRocks_0
this will do nothing. it's already causing more problems than fixes. valve is washed.
Trust the process, a positive attitude goes a long way:)
W and L update
saw my man get zeused 5 times xd
I was having a rough game 😂
@@SvmmiCs xd
3:00 aight bro
This is bullshit, people have been using nullbinds since early tf2 movement servers were introduced
And on top of that VAC still isn’t going to properly detect the people who are hacking
Lizzosflab
still they can't detect cheating...
