Moro or Bateria Spanish Watchtower:
This 16th-century watchtower built by the Spaniards along the sleepy coastline of San Esteban, Ilocos Sur still stands guard prominently. The watchtower is named “Bateria”, from “battery”, referring to the row of cannons positioned on top of the tower as defense against invading enemies. The tower has become a legitimate tourist site after it has been restored in 2016 by the National Historical Commission and the local government of San Esteban.
