off topic: I have been diving into diamond testing methods and equipment. This week I ordered 2 thermo testers for thermal conductivity, but since these often can not see the difference between moissanite and diamond, I want a thermo electric tester. I first thought these are very expensive (above 1000 dollar), but that's not true. I now understand there are sub 100 dollar good ones out there. Similar loooking to the thermo testers, like the one you and many youtubers use. I might go for the GEM TRUE tester for 75 EUR. Then if a stone passes the tests with these, then it is almost 100% sure a diamond. Many other methods and equipment is needed to see the difference between earth mined, cvd and HPHT created and HPHT enhanced, I guess. So as long as I am onlhy buying in the lower sectors of diamonds, my worries are simulants like moissanite and Cubic Zirconia, which will be detected with the thermo electric dual testers.
@@PeterSsailing cz will never test positive on a diamomd tester. I'm just sharing my experiences.
@@michaelagoodin159 yes I agree, that's what the thermo tester always can differentiate between. I am intersted in an upgrade to thermo-electric testing so it can measure the difference between moissanite and diamonds. (maybe we misunderstood, I hope this clears it up why I myself am interested in such a tester)
