Brother inlaw has a Pioneer 1000. 1 thing im doing before hunting season is work sealing up the opening under the dash/firewall. If a puddle splashes on the radiator the steam blow through the holes & fogs the inside of glass windshield constantly. I like your fix for the rear seats. 👍
Have you considered doing a chop top? I've seen guys take about 4 inches off the cab height and it looks great! Really changes the look of the cage for the better I think. Really nice Pioneer by the way, I'm hoping to get into a 1000-5 this year. Have a great day!
I have considered a chop top, and like the look of it, I just have not gotten around to making up my mind if I want to go through with it or get a new cage. Thanks for watching!
For our Pioneer 500 we added the boat cushions also. The first thing I did was Black Plasic Dip the red hood and rear fenders. Then having a bunch of old police armored vest I cut up for seat covers for both the seats and then on the added boat cushions. Those have a good number of pockets and mag pouches that come in handy. I've added a flat low profile roof by Open Trail so it can still fit through my shed door frame. I added some lights to the back of the roof below the peak for backing up and lights on each side for work and party time. At Walmart I found some rubber steps for truck nerf bars by Smart Step and cut those to fit the front bumper after Mini B slipped away from me and bumped into the back of the trailer after I unloaded it the first day I had it. I have a tilt bed trailer and use a winch to load and unload. A big addition is the front rack using a car roof basket from Walmart using EMT and fittings for a supporting frame. I made a clear curtain for the back of the cage to keep rain from running down our backs. No windshield as of yet, maybe later. I use a 49 inch truck bed side tool box mounted facing forward on the end of the rear rack. Using the box as the supporting frame I put a jump seat from Bass Pro Shop on top facing forward. Passengers can see over the roof, looking for low limbs. And a small rubber covered floor area for the feet. Then a fold down rack on the back of the box for light weight gear. I plan another battery for turn signals, horns and other stuff. I added a front receiver for a number of things plus the winch from the trailer when needed. So many hours of cutting, drilling and making fittings and so-on. Thanks
We got our pioneer 3 seat 1000LE for farm use. So far the only mods are roof, full windshield and mirrors for the road. The LE’s stock LED headlights are great and as much as we need. But I’d disagree about they should come with a winch. For people like us the winch is a useless item, and half the time I’d need one I’d have nothing to hook to. I can count on one hand how many times I’d have used a winch in the past decade on an ATV/UTV if I had one. But I do think skid plates are a must with any ATV/UTV for sliding over logs and rocks or even just checking fence, on our old gator we’ve have sticks get lodged under it just driving around because it wasn’t a full skid plate.
Can you State which wheel and tires you installed with offsets etc. and what I would need to duplicate what you have. We are headed to AZ for the winter 2019.

You had mentioned about not getting the LE for various reasons. I’m looking at both the Deluxe and the Limited for our family of five. What is your opinion on pros or cons??? Or any advise you can give would be much appreciated. Thank you
I think that both are great units, I am just little more old school, I like selecting the 4wd mode over the i-4wd. The i-4wd has great reviews and is more of a set it and forget it in my eyes. The other big reason is, there is no aftermarket support for axles, as far as I know (for the LE). You do get skid plates, and nice shocks with the LE, I don't think you can go wrong with either. Good luck with your search!
J Johnson there is a great Facebook page for the pioneer 1000s. Called Honda pioneer 1000 riders. They have tons of info and great members that will be able to help you out. I’m in the same boat as Dirt N Diesel. I don’t want the iFWD. They say it’s good but there is no way it’s better than a 4 wheel diff lock.
I agree with the number one mod being new wheels and tires. A close second for me is the throttle max gas pedal. It’s awesome over bumpy terrain or on long rides it’s a life saver
Hi guy ! How are you ? Great vids . I have most of your mods and agree with you absolutely . The max throttle is a must 👍🏻I also have the Maxx snorkel kit which I recommend. My model is a red 2017 1000/5 ... Not LE ... Why ? I preferred manual 4 wheel lock and wanted red instead of black, I thought this to be ridiculous . At night you can't find the two sticks and once I accidentally slammed into reverse instead of 2wd ! So I'm getting around to solve this problem with illuminating paint on the lettering to see if that works . I love the Talons and new Turbo Talons but am disappointed all this attention to HP for the Talon and nothing for the Pioneer . I paid good money to Honda over the years for my big red three wheeler , my Foreman quad and now my Pioneer . I want power options. Not just an expensive exhaust that looks good and makes more noise . I'll subscribe and like . I hope we get more options for our 72 hp vs 105 and now 150 to 300 hp turbo Talon . Best regards 👍🏻🇨🇦 Paul

Cool beans. 🙃
Where did you get your roof?
What brand is it?
I have a family of 5 and the more I watch these Honda Pioneer videos the more I want to buy one for family fun and exploring.
What size tires are you running have you had any issues with them hitting the wheel wells?
What tires do you have?
Could you talk any alower? Everything is so dramatic 😂
What tire pressure do you run with a radial tire on a UTV?

What roof is that you have on it now?
I run the OEM Honda roof, it is tall but bullet proof.
Would like to know what kind of side view mirrors you have
I am running these minors in this video.

Great info - what size boat cushion did you use?
I just use the ones that Walmarts sells about 3" thick and 15"x15", just guessing here though.
@@DirtNDiesel I'll check those out; much appreciated!

@@davidperine9856 Yes, it lets me rotate the tires. Right now I am running 35's with a portal lift .
Could you show us a picture of your dual battery set up? I've noticed that the factory one drains down fairly quickly.
Yes I will show it in this weeks video, I hope this helps.
Dirt'N'Diesel hey there. Is it possible to let me know what truck tires you installed. Need a good rec. thx

Yes, the throttle is very touchy if you are not used to it, and worst in low range. I have thought about a throttle max, maybe in the future......

How about just showing the modes instead of telling about them ?
Thanks I will work on that for the next video, more showing less talking. Thanks for the comment.
