I giggled when Eric was talking about the fat content of wagyu beef, because that is entirely the point of Japanese breeds of beef. They breed beef which is specifically marbled with fat because they prefer their beef to taste more like fish. They also slice it very thinly and eat it sparingly. ☺️

Having lived 18 years in Northern California, I would venture a guess as to where the "girl's trip" was to. The bright golden look of the hillsides and the steepness of the ridge I think rule out Napa or Sonoma area, or Santa Barbara. My best guess is the Highway 49 area in the foothill region east and south of Sacramento---along Highway 49, the old gold mining region around Jackson, San Andreas, Sonora. Good guess??

One thing that I learned while in Hawaii is when you buy a pineapple in the grocery store, look for one that is gold in color. They cut them when they are green but those are not ripe yet. Buy a gold colored pineapple instead, but they are hard to find at the store…
Hi Julia! Happy 4th to you Eric and Luna. So, I have worked in a papermill in Fernandina Beach FL for 30 years. The rich people refer to Fernandina as Amelia Island. A couple of cool things about Fernandina Beach is, my grandfather had 9 brothers and they pretty much started the shrimping industry here on our little island. The first weekend of May every year we have The Shrimp Festival. It's really cool. It started out all the families of the shrimping industry here got together. Everyone brought a cover dish and it was a three day party. The pirates would land, put people in a make believe jail and then you had to pay a little bit of money to get out. The money raised was for local charities so it was all in good fun. They even race the shrimp boats. Over the years our it's grown into a huge function and the town pretty much shuts down. The food cooked and for sell over the weekend is great. There's arts and crafts. Neat things to buy. Also, Faith Hill did a video here and Pipi Long Stocking was filmed here. So if you and Eric are ever close in May, you'd I believe you guys would love it. Also, I'm now cow salesman but I saw where you guys went to Costco and bought a lot in bulk, which is smart. I have a friend that has a cousin who sales cows. He lives in Georgia, which is one town over. Anyway, they butcher the grass fed cow and for a price you can get it anyway you'd like it cut up. Ground beef, steak, anyway you want it. It averages out to $4 a lb. However, the whole cow is $1700.00. My wife and I being empty nesters, we know it would last a long time and I don't have an extra $1700.00 laying around for a cow🤣 but if we had 3 or 4 people go in with us, it wouldn't be as much. I said all that to say, you and Eric may can find a place in Texas that does the samething. Then invite some of your family and or friends to split the cost. My one friend at work bought some and he said since it was grass fed, it melted in his mouth. I have done this schedule 3 weeks ago and now I'm on it again. We work 12hr shifts. I'm willing to bet you wouldn't trade with me😂 Friday night 7pm-7am Saturday night 7pm-7am Sunday night 7pm-7am Monday night 7pm-7am Off Tuesday and so I'll sleep all day. Wednesday 7am-7pm Thursday -same Friday-same Saturday -same Sunday-same Off 24hrs on Monday back to Tuesday night 7pm-7am Wednesday -same Thursday -same Finally off on Friday. 186hrs in 14 days. So, when you're not thrilled about your shift, just think. It could be worse. I could be a paper maker working crazy shifts. Also, I have a question. I've watched how hard it is for a lot of professional cheerleaders to make it onto a team and stay on a team. Especially the Dallas cowboys. I've seen where some of the cheer coaches are really tough and expect almost perfect and if a cheerleader looks like she's gaining a little weight, they tell them. Being a flight attendant, can the airline suspend people for gaining weight or do you think people are hired or not hired based on their weight? I don't believe they can just come right out and say that, it might be some kind of a discrimination, but if they had to choose between a flight attendant that is fit and one that is not so fit, do you think they would lean in the way of the one that is fit? ODAN - We have too many planes to leave them at a hub overnight, so let's just send them to some other non-hub airport overnight. But we can only leave them there a little bit, so let's give the crew an overnight shift.

We’ll, your mystery destination?🤔 At first, since I’m from Northern California, I’d say the Napa region, but I think it’s near the Calistoga area. There are a couple castle style wineries in that region. I’m going to guess a 2nd area. The Santa Ynez valley, near Santa Barbara, California which is a great wine area of Southern California😯 As a fellow f/a, due I get a prize🍷🤣
Just did an overnight flight. Don't do those very often. I was able to get a few hours of sleep. Don't know how flight attendants do those on a regular basis! We were in ANC and did a trip to the Botanical Gardens. In our shuttle was an American flight attendant who had the overnight flight we were taking the next day. It was fun visiting with her, and kind of being familiar with flight attendant life from your vlogs.
You had me at homemade Mac & Cheese! 🤣 Wagyu beef is notoriously (although some say deliciously!) high in fat. All Wagyu beef is that way whether burgers or steaks. Fat is flavor, but too much is too much! I am not a big fan of Costco or supermarket beef. It seems whenever we buy beef for roasts we get a success rate of maybe 3 in 5 good roasts when we shop there. I question their sources. I do not like to buy big commercial feed lot beef. I've found a wonderful local meat shop that has an owner with a strict policy on sourcing beef. Theirs is always the best, although pricier, but never a bad piece of meat, and they have humanely raised antibiotic free organic beef which is just the best! You should think about looking for a local butcher and make friends with them!
The may difference between Wagyu and say Angus cattle is the higher fat content in Wagyu even non-marble scored meat. So if concerned about the level of animal fat don't get Wagyu beef.
Great Video, I do my corporate pilot recurrent training there in TUS, and stay at that same place. Too bad you weren’t there longer, the staff is great and they have a great pool.
