      1. Cut baby's nails when they're asleep
      2. Baby shushing on RUclips 8 hour video 😂
      3. BUY OLLIE THE OWL HE WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND
      4. Keep red book in your changing bag permanently
      5. Bottle fed- I sterilise pink scoopers so I can stir formula rather than shake it or swirl it after scooping in formula in the boiling hot water

I've learned a lot since my baby was born... best ones probably -
      1. Buying bigger clothes and accepting hand me downs rather
      Than buying new
      2. I use baby Mozart to get him to sleep (he sleeps everytime he hears it now)
      3. Sticking to routine! :D

    Brilliant tips! 😘
    Mine would have to be..
    1. Changing baby on your bed buy a raised side changing mat! Turn it around so the raised edge is at the bottom. Saves any unexpected accidents running off the mat and onto your bed! I learnt the hard way 😂
    2. Using a prep machine, stir/swirl the bottle or shake gently side to side and not up and down as saves all the added air/froth in the bottle.
    3. tommee tippee formula pots are a life saver if going out and fit resting in the top of TT bottles.
    4. white noise can help hide background noise especially in a small home so your not tip toeing around and can still have the TV on.
    5. 100% invest in a blackout blind!
    6. Having trouble with baby napping? Give huckleberry app a go. Don't need to pay for the basic use and it helps guide with wake windows and nap times. For me this was a life changer!
    ❤️

We have a very clingy baby boy, and I was getting sick of drinking cold tea/coffee! Travel mugs have been one of the best things we’ve bought. Keeps our drinks warm and we don’t have to worry about spilling warm drinks on him we’re pretty much always holding our little man 😂 not really a hack but definitely recommend to new parents!
Also, the love to dream swaddles absolutely changed our boy at night time! He hated the traditional swaddling as he always has his hands by his face. These kept him feeling secure and comforted with his arms up. He pretty much slept through the first night we used it with him!

When I bottle fed my first I used to buy the 89p ready made formula for out and about. Throw it in your handbag and it doesn’t have to kept on the fridge or anything as long as it hasn’t been opened. Pour into a bottle when baby’s hungry at room temp or warm up in a bowl of warm water from a coffee shop or by taking a flask but Lily always had it at room temp and one pre made bottle is about a perfect feed size! Also always keep some in the cupboard incase of a power cut!! I’m breastfeeding this time so I don’t have to worry about that this time round haha!

  • @nikb9871

I use a small guest towel on my babys changing mat. Stops them getting cold and also absorbs any accidents rather than it sliding around (I change my baby on our bed). Also I pre portion formula powder in MAM powder dispensers so easy to do and saves couting scoops on night feeds. When out and about I take a chilly bottle with boiling hot water in and it stays over 70 degrees for about 4/5hrs :)

Sainsbury's do zip baby grows too and they're ADORABLE! Sainsbury's also do little weaning pots, like the ice cube trays but they're individual pots with a lid so you can grab and go! They come in a tray so they are neat too (can you tell I'm a Sainsbury's advocate 😂)

    Great tips!!
Another way to do formula bottles for when going out, and if you need it after 2 hours (untouched formula is OK at room temp up to then according to NHS site!)...
I make the bottle up then chill it in the back of the fridge, or freezer if going out soon, then I take a frozen wine cooler from the freezer and this holds the bottle in the change bag as if it was an ice pack! Again NHS website says this is OK up to 4 hours.
I have a champagne cooler which has a velcro bit so can be tightened to the perfect size for the bottle and uses less space than a cook bag/ice pack!

    Hi Shan😊
After finding out we were expecting last December I have watched your videos ever since. You are the most relatable and down to earth RUclipsr and I always like to take your advice on things. 😊
From the start I have decided I have wanted to bottle feed our baby when she arrives in July so I was just wondering if you could possibly do a video or an Instagram post on your top tips in regards to bottles as I also find it hard to find any helpful information about it. There are plenty for breast feedings mums but unfortunately bottles seem to take a back seat.
