Hi Britt! This song is actually being released by Kite Records, in which Toby Gad is the boss. Toby filmed, directed, and produced this music video himself, hence the very basic and simple look. The shoes were probably for her own safety since she was outdoors in an area with dirt, rocks, and who knows what. She was barefoot on stage when she did her concert in Glendale, CA. Her collaboration with Toby has been fantastic. Angelina is still signed with Republic. If you don't know or remember, Toby is a very important person that she is working with. Britt, Angelina and Toby and company wrote this song when she was 16 years old! During the concert Toby talked about it! This was filmed on Mulholland Drive in L.A. this was on an unprepared surface so the shoes are more of a safety concern! Toby actually filed this! Republic Records did not sponsor this, this is Toby’s production company! Yes there is video out there of the song from the concert, however, I would wait until Jim Thiel and Chris Walker’s RUclips channels put them out! The videos out right now from the concert are good but there is a fair amount of audio compression from the cellphone videos! Have a great one!
She has a unique full old school voice that suits a lot of thenold school ballady type songs . Itnisba full contralto type voice that is so rich. It'll be cool to see how she transitions her music into music that reaches out to a younger generation.

Great to have another Britt Reacts on this new release of Angelina's. She's leaning into the pop space more and more, but never losing her blues/jazz/standards roots. At her concert she sang some of her newer original songs, but also songs originally made famous by Billie Holliday, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, as well as covering Adele and others. I think Toby Gad has had a huge influence at least with the current batch of releases. He was a recent concert as well no doubt involved in the musical arrangement.
-- Britt, this song was written before Angelina's Old Enough EP was released July 21, 2023 -- Toby Gad and Angelina had met when she was still 16-years old and they hit it off and started to write and record songs together, with Bad Valentine being one of the songs. Toby has said that Angelina's voice is a once in a decade occurrence -- Republic Records decided not to include Bad Valentine on the Old Enough EP that caused Toby to be upset as he really liked the song -- As a result, Toby decided to start his own Independent record label, Kite Records. Toby then began the Piano Diaries project where he took many of his prior hit songs and re-did them as piano-based ballads. He asked Angelina to sing If I Were A Boy (Beyonce's hit song that Toby co-wrote) and multiple music videos were produced by Toby and published beginning on May 31, 2024, in addition to the song itself. On July 19, 2024, through Kite Records, Toby released the full album titled Piano Diaries - The Hits and has been on numerous interviews promoting the album plus many times also mentioning Angelina as a future major star -- In a recent interview, Toby said that the major record labels have started to only put big promotional efforts behind the established, major stars. They tell the new singers that they sign that they will put the songs on Spotify and the like, but until something goes viral, they will not put big bucks behind any release. As a result, the artists are told to post daily on social media and do lots of self-promotion until they happen to get a viral hit -- Thus, many young artists get loaned out to small Independent labels that will do all the development work of the artist that used to be done by the big labels. If they get a viral hit, the major label will then put the money behind that artist, believing that there is a higher probability of them making that artist into a major star (where everyone makes lots of money) with a viral hit than trying to spend the time and money to possibly get a viral hit from a particular artist (in reality, viral hits do not occur that often) -- The result is that Toby has effectively taken Angelina under his wings and is using his contacts, and his new Independent label, Kite Records, to get Angelina tons of exposure -- One such example of the clout Toby has, is that he got Scott Hoying (of multi-Grammy winning a cappella group Pentatonix and its 20+ million RUclips subscribers, and many millions of followers on other social media) to perform with Angelina. Amazingly, Scott opened Angelina's show on September 20, 2024 at the Alex Theater in Glendale, California singing two songs that he had written. Later in the show Scott and Angelina performed a fantastic duet of All of Me -- It is this type of exposure and a constant stream of new material being published (looks to be primarily by Toby and his Independent label, Kite Records) that may get that viral hit for Angelina, and then the big promotional bucks from her major label, Republic Records, will probably then start to flow to help build Angelina into a major star

Angelina did Bad Velentine at the Alex Concert. At the moment James Thiel has been sent most of the footage of the concert. He seems to have the knack of editing the best of everyones footage into a world class group of songs into a playlist for that concert. It sure sounds like she’s singing “I thought I told you I would mess up girl”, which makes her the one who’s being stood up, and is actually the one sitting at the table for two. Is she singing this from the point of view of the guy who rejected her in Now I’m the Fool? At the end of the concert she said she was broken hearted and sang Wear do Lonely Hearts Go? Doesn’t sound like someone who stood up her unrequited love on Valentines Day!

Britt, Angelina and Toby and company wrote this song when she was 16 years old! During the concert Toby talked about it! This was filmed on Mulholland Drive in L.A. this was on an unprepared surface so the shoes are more of a safety concern! Toby actually filed this! Republic Records did not sponsor this, this is Toby’s production company! Yes there is video out there of the song from the concert, however, I would wait until Jim Thiel and Chris Walker’s RUclips channels put them out! The videos out right now from the concert are good but there is a fair amount of audio compression from the cellphone videos! Have a great one!

This came out yesterday, Sunday in Australia. It was quickly picked up 8:47 by my fave 5 - 6 reactors ( your uncle is in that group ) This is all over the … media I still struggle with RUclips . One of my respected reactors ( yes you’re definitely in that group, because you’re good AND because there is no one who has done more Angelina reactions I know of than you 🏆 ) another said he’d done a lot but has yet to crack 50😬.

Hi Britt. No shoes in concert onstage. In clubs and things, there is food, and therefore health regulations require shoes. Here, she's staying in character, I think. I feel like this has hints that Angelina is now the boy she was singing to in "If I Were a Boy." He's saying.... I warned you girl, you should have known this would happen. Britt, my fave version of this song is live at a club with Toby Gad... You'll find it on James Thiel's account. He's done a stellar job, as always.
Great to have another Britt Reacts on this new release of Angelina's. She's leaning into the pop space more and more, but never losing her blues/jazz/standards roots. At her concert she sang some of her newer original songs, but also songs originally made famous by Billie Holliday, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, as well as covering Adele and others. I think Toby Gad has had a huge influence at least with the current batch of releases.
He was a recent concert as well no doubt involved in the musical arrangement.
-- Britt, this song was written before Angelina's Old Enough EP was released July 21, 2023
-- Toby Gad and Angelina had met when she was still 16-years old and they hit it off and started to write and record songs together, with Bad Valentine being one of the songs. Toby has said that Angelina's voice is a once in a decade occurrence
-- Republic Records decided not to include Bad Valentine on the Old Enough EP that caused Toby to be upset as he really liked the song
-- As a result, Toby decided to start his own Independent record label, Kite Records. Toby then began the Piano Diaries project where he took many of his prior hit songs and re-did them as piano-based ballads. He asked Angelina to sing If I Were A Boy (Beyonce's hit song that Toby co-wrote) and multiple music videos were produced by Toby and published beginning on May 31, 2024, in addition to the song itself. On July 19, 2024, through Kite Records, Toby released the full album titled Piano Diaries - The Hits and has been on numerous interviews promoting the album plus many times also mentioning Angelina as a future major star
-- In a recent interview, Toby said that the major record labels have started to only put big promotional efforts behind the established, major stars. They tell the new singers that they sign that they will put the songs on Spotify and the like, but until something goes viral, they will not put big bucks behind any release. As a result, the artists are told to post daily on social media and do lots of self-promotion until they happen to get a viral hit
-- Thus, many young artists get loaned out to small Independent labels that will do all the development work of the artist that used to be done by the big labels. If they get a viral hit, the major label will then put the money behind that artist, believing that there is a higher probability of them making that artist into a major star (where everyone makes lots of money) with a viral hit than trying to spend the time and money to possibly get a viral hit from a particular artist (in reality, viral hits do not occur that often)
-- The result is that Toby has effectively taken Angelina under his wings and is using his contacts, and his new Independent label, Kite Records, to get Angelina tons of exposure
-- One such example of the clout Toby has, is that he got Scott Hoying (of multi-Grammy winning a cappella group Pentatonix and its 20+ million RUclips subscribers, and many millions of followers on other social media) to perform with Angelina. Amazingly, Scott opened Angelina's show on September 20, 2024 at the Alex Theater in Glendale, California singing two songs that he had written. Later in the show Scott and Angelina performed a fantastic duet of All of Me

Angelina did Bad Velentine at the Alex Concert. At the moment James Thiel has been sent most of the footage of the concert.
He seems to have the knack of editing the best of everyones footage into a world class group of songs into a playlist for that concert.

Noe shoes is for when she's on stage. But on some venues they wont let her be barefoot or it's just not safe or sanitary.
Many versions out there now, but if you like jazz, she has come out with a jazzy version that if that is your genre you better sit down, it is great.

It sure sounds like she’s singing “I thought I told you I would mess up girl”, which makes her the one who’s being stood up, and is actually the one sitting at the table for two. Is she singing this from the point of view of the guy who rejected her in Now I’m the Fool? At the end of the concert she said she was broken hearted and sang Wear do Lonely Hearts Go? Going barefoot is only for live performances I think - which she always does when it's possible (occasionally she's at a venue where it's not allowed )
