    Alex is still 19 but he needs to get his game more efficient to preserve his body. Rushing to every ball is impressive, but returning ball just to get dictated everytime, that's exhausting.
    He still has lot of time in his age to improve his game, if he can dominantly dictate a point then he will earn a place along with these legends
    Vamos Alex, Congrats Rafa

      I really appreciate watching these two play however though,about this De Minaur.....well hes talented but he plays a lot of useless defense.I mean yeah.Running for those kind of balls,the effort he puts,tge balls he makes,thats impressive but against players like Nadal and Djokovic,he needs way more than that.The thing is right now he simply lacks the extra punch to make it against Nadal.

    • @TheClownCostume
      @TheClownCostume 5 лет назад +4

      That’s how Djokovic plays and he’s turned out fine for the most part. You just have to take care of your body physically through yoga and stretches and you can still play that style

      RENN Djokovic has a very powerful baseline game along with his movement and flexibility. His serve is powerful too. You can’t compare De Minaur with Djokovic. De Minaur has to add kmh to his forehand and backhand if he doesn’t want to be burned out by 24-25 yrs old.

    Darnnn I was there in the first rows (amongst all the AUSSIES) :o and I lost my voice and still, I can't hear my Vamos in here ahhaha. Plus they left away one of the most amazing exchanges, where Rafa had to do a few overheads smashes before winning the point and, negative note for Ramos. Not because I'm a Nadal Fan, as it was the same for the kid but the crowd was ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. You think you can hear from this video.... NO. It's a lot worse live and the idiot didn't stop the clock (like the other Umpire did on the previous match)??? And HE DIDN'T STOP IT AT MATCH POINT??? this is fricking RIDICULOUS. And I would say the same if it were for De Minaur. This Umpire has issues, I'm telling you. I had my seats in front of Rafa's bench and I saw the look he gave to Ramos when shaking hands. But glad that as usual, he kept his composure under pressure. He was the gentleman, the umpire a total asshole and I had to refrain myself from shouting something bad at him.
    Anyway, VAMOS RAFA!!!!

      @@wangtwdavid Also Nadal has said something to Ramos BEFORE like, can you please stop the clock for BOTH of us as it's impossible to be concentrated with all the noise and then have to rush because you are left with 3 seconds to serve.
      Now people can think Nadal is making excuses as he was used to taking a lot of time but in this case, he is totally right. The crowd on big points didn't shut up until 5 seconds before the serve. I was there live so I know pretty well.

    Berdych match will test the current state of big serve returnings, the Rafa's game part that he struggles the most with nowadays. He really needs that top returning level he's capable of and break him in every set. Keep this same aggression with his serve + forehand. Fully concentrated, no mind hiccups until the finish line and finish the match nice and quick because what's ahead is a much tougher task.

      Agreed! Nadal was 100% the better player. He is playing at the top of his game so far but we are also talking about a 19 yr old who is relatively new to the circuit holding his own. He held up some decent rallies, held off some match points and didn't get completely wiped off the board. Considering some of the other male tennis players we have here in Aus he deserves more recognition. Players like de minaur, bolt, Millman, ebden are all making the men's Aussie tennis look good again. (Of course the Aussie women are also coming on up and are smashing it this season)

    Nadal is playing at his pick. Will get a better check against Berdych though. If he outplay Tomas the way Roger did in 2017, Rafa will be a favourite if his body allows.

    If Nadal wins the Australian Open this year, I'll predict him to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year also, he's winning more free points now than ever. The way he's playing, if injury free and if he wins the Australian Open, he will win Roland Garros and not even a peak Djokovic will stop him. He'll then employ the tactics that will have him success on the fast hard courts in Australia at Wimbledon. Let's see if he can be stopped at the Australian Open this year first.
