When I lived in Germany I had an 8mm Reck 1911 style CS gas gun. It fired what looked like blanks, but they were full of CS gas. I used it once in self defense against a burglar. It completely disabled him. I shot him 3 times in the face in quick succession bang, bang, bang. He didn't die and was not permanently injured. The Police took him away.

Having been pepper sprayed I can tell you that it can be fought through. If you are determined you can even see quite well. It may work on some crackhead you surprise in your backyard but I wouldn’t trust my life on it.

Forgot to add : the red stuff is "breaker balls', 6.2 grams max, but most of them are 6 grams and about depending on your batch. Sometimes I even get some 5.7 grams too. The black stuff is 3.9g hard rubber, and the grey is 3g PVC. To break glass windows or anything glass, those 3g pvc work the best and cheapest. 3.9g are nice practice rounds and for impact and less lethal (won't kill), but the breaker balls are lethal if you use it at the max power tuned up T8.1, they can kill someone if you place a wrong shot. So they are more like "next to lethal" options.
I carry defense technologies oc/cs 1.5 oz spray everyday. Tested it on a tree the first day and the tiny blowback messed me up for 45 minutes. I can’t imagine getting dowsed in the face and not having a water hose nearby
Not only carry the saber red daily had a nice custom case made for it. I've used it twice and it actually sprays a fair bit farther then 6 feet as both my encounters were at a truck a half to two truck legths. Both armed attackers hit the ground screaming as I left.
Very good options. Definitely like the CO2 pistol. Broadens your options for handling situations other than killing everyone who comes in contact with you.

I am an American living in Mexico where everything is illegal. I am not even allowed to have pepper spray as defence. Of course all the criminals are well armed and I have been robbed 3 times on my sailboat. Absolute stupidity to not allow defense against criminals that do not obey laws anyway.
T8.1 FirstStrike with a Screw in will penetrade the big cans. FirstStrike & Breakerballs are great on hart things as glas or heads, but a thick coat take a lot of there energy off, thats why they can shoot them in there good pillows. Someone with arms rised up can run quick into you from 5 meters, so the three shots you get in that case i would use with strong pepperballs or combined, cause they do there job, and without you in jail. And in US, man you´re legal on real guns, so your opponent too, dont play with an intruder.

I wouldn't mess with the barrel on the marker. Damaging it in anyway can make the shot inaccurate or cause problems with internals later down the road.

Appreciate this video! I like knowing there are feasible self-defense methods without having to use lethal force. Two questions I have though is how much stopping power do the rounds have, and do you use CO2 or compressed air to fire the rounds?
Mace can be messy, mace on grizzly bears has proven less than effective on a windy day, backpackers mace them selves in the wind making them easy bear snacks, considering a grizzly can run, climb & swim faster than a puny human.
I follow the force continuam. What ever threat level they come at me with, I go a step above. They use hands, I use hand to hand plus prob my pepper spray or some kind of impact weopon. They have a knife or other deadly object. I would go to firearm. I hope I never have to though. But better have it and not need it, than need it and not have it
not bad for non-lethal self defense but one thing I would recommend to anyone is to carry a knife too. Either a fixed blade or folding thumb assist blade. I always carry a folding thumb assist 3 inch blade and a small pocket pistol. Of course if you want to go real old school just get a 2x4 and a nail.
I have a paintball gun too. But id rather choose a semi automatic co2 pellet gun with hollow point hunting pellets. Or even a flare gun or a bat. But...fuck all that i got a 20ga shotgun too as well as a marlin 60 22lr.
A pellet gun does not have the "stopping power" as the projectile is too tiny and it just shoots into the skin (if powerful and close range enough) and stings, but does not drop the man on the spot. A breakerball fired from a T8.1 tuned to max power can go at 30 joules and slam on your bones... break / crack your bones and you are done. One shot and you are down the ground, it's not something you even want to try. If you doubt it, try it yourself.... but yes, a BREAKER BALL dude, not a paintball, it's different! Paintball splash open on the spot and you don't feel that much, just like waterballoon vs a rock of the same size and weight.. think about physics

LOL But dude, there are too many crappy laws such as what we have in Canada here, getting even an airgun that fires a bit too hard will require a FIREARM license (how bullshit?) but this T8.1 pistol fires at 30j and we are free to purchase without a license, it has the power you need to drop or kill whatever crap, good enough for most people for sure. Great instructoral video. Just know laws vary from state to state. In California pepper balls are illegal but kinetic rounds arent. That is because they want to charge the victim with batttery with substancial bodily harm. I live in a constitutional county but some will prosecute. Kenetic rounds are last resort for less than lethal suggest 10 percent oc stream first. That isnt illegal and effective. Then kinetic rounds as last resort then.. Well all done game on
I recommend a real gun with rubber bullets. Pepper spray is good buy you need to think about how strong the wind is blowing and which direction if you are out side but if the person has a gun you need to react fast.
One of the best weapons I've ever seen for non-lethal self defense is the Salt gun. It shoots a pellet filled with chemicals at somebody and it explodes making a cloud of damaging chemicals that will temporarily hurt the intruder and the damage can last up to 50 minutes. It blinds them and screws up their lungs. Basically makes them shit their pants and know they've screwed up without getting a bullet hole in their chest.
SALT gun, as known as the TIPPMANN TIPX overpriced version, is maxed out even tuned - to 16 joules no matter what ammo you use. Compare to a T8.1 tuned up shooting 28-30 joules using breaker balls that crack your skull and drop you down in one shot, which one works? :) Pepperball's damage on the guy last 50mins, but contaminates your air conditioner's filter and air vents at home for weeks. Have fun breathing peppers. Breaker balls knock people down and the damage can last for their whole life, making them NEVER want to come again, or never can come again lol
Ice Blade I am not stupid, but if you actually think about it - the powerful shots can be used on the chest or tummy which means it has enough stopping power to drop a muscular guy down. If it is too weak, you will fear that it cannot drop the guy down in one shot. Another thing is - IF the situation escalates, at least you know you can just change your aim and go for the head IF needed. Same theory goes to a firearm, it's all about your shot placement and making the right move to draw or not to draw your gun out. Be it a 9mm or a 68 cal, it's the same. Now call me stupid or you are not thinking enough?

If you miss with the SALT gun it can still do damage because the bullets are meant to spread and cover a certain area. Also, even if they're shot in the stomach or whatever. That'd still have a possibility of killing them, and very high possibility. And if you shot them in the leg or something else that won't kill them, they could still shoot you with their weapon even when lying on the ground in pain. With the SALT gun, they'd be blinded, coughing, dizzy/nauseous, and possibly vomiting. All things that will definitely distract them from shooting you.

You can fire the same projectiles (or hotter pepperballs) with ANY paintball markers, including this T8.1, or even some cheaper ones like the $100 Tippmann Cronus that I have reviewed. If you are so not confident about yourself handling a gun-or-weapon in the middle of the night, you might as well stick to using a flashlight for defense instead, beacuse the SALT gun might be also too salty for your hand, and gosh, there is a $100 Cronus if you just need to break pepper balls out, why bother with a scam re-brand product that is overpriced. LOL Seriously, the TIPX is a nice pistol, but slapping a SALT name on it doesn't make it more delicious. If you fear yourself not having the skills to aim and shoot someone at night during a break-in, you can also use a T8.1 and put pepper or sugar or vinegar balls in it too, it's not the SALT gun that works, it's just the projectiles that matters. But as said, real life situation is different from what you think. Pepperballs don't work on some people who are used to strong smell and such - such as real drug addicts. I am talking about thugs who are high on coke dude, no matter you use what kind of pepperball, they get pissed, they will shoot you first before they cough, cuz you are not a police, and you don't have a SWAT team at your back backing you up, they will not fear to fire before coughing dude. Btw, why are you so not confident about yourself shooting at night? Even with the SALT gun, do you ever TRAIN yourself to do home defense? pepper spray has been beat. Far more often than tazers. You want less-than-lethal incapacitation targeting the eyes [some cases the fumes attack the respiratory system], get tear gas or something that has a similar effect to it. Otherwise your best bet at bear minimum is a taser. Though it's been beat before it's not often. The best option so far is rubber bullets or beanbags fired from a gun for less than lethal. However if the perp's on something, lethal is your best option. Also 200 FPS? my spring pistol shoots more powerful than that at 375 and it's weak as hell!!
Just finished your video, great one. The can test shows your gun is not tuned up yet. No way you just dent it like that. With a properly tuned gun you will punch a hole in and out of those cans without issues. See my video with those cans? Very easy to tune it up. 250 fps? might as well buy yourself a good paintball gun and tune it up to 300 or alittle higher. 250 is easy to dodge and 300+ wont curve so much if you end up outdoors. I'm assuming your using this for protection when your at home soo yea just get a paintball gun. Air tanks hold more air or you could get CO2 and you can load more ammo at once and you can put that thing and automatic or burst mode.
I used to play paintball a lot. getting hit with a paintball going 250fps hurts a little the first couple times then you get used to it. Still hurts but it's not gonna stop you. If you're wearing baggy clothes you might not even feel it, and idk but bad guys tend to wear baggy clothes. 275fps your gonna think twice about getting shot at close range(maybe 10-20ft is too close). I've never gotten hit by a rubber ball going 250fps but I'm sure it's gonna feel about the same maybe do about as much damage as a paintball round going 275fps(might leave a nice black and blue bruise). Now talking about those pepperballs. I love that idea, especially if it makes a big cloud. You might also beable to shoot some on the wall to get a nice cloud of that stuff in the air. Breathing that stuff in or getting it in your eyes is gonna suck. Anyone tying to rob you is gonna want to leave and their not gonna get far without being noticed. If the dude's wearing a mask it'll still mess with his eyes but I don't know about his breathing.
DeathPorky Yes, but by design, those things are made to kill/maim/cut, this is a tiny blunt spike with loads of weight in it, to make it an efficient bone breaking tool. Also, with a scalpel, you'd have to target something vital close to the skin, since it is so small, and not designed for killing... Also, a prison shank is nothing more than a sharpen spike, usually made out of the toothbrushes that prisoners get, which are pretty resilient, and long.

Actually Bear spray is not as effective on humans, you'll be better off with a regular pepper spray. the concentration of OC is alot lower in bear spray....just google bear spray vs pepper spray on humans and you will see many articles explaining. Only thing is that it shoots further and a wider range. It'll still probably incapacitate someone but regular pepper spray will do a better job at a lower cost and its not bulky to lug around. But If you want something that can shoot far like bear spray but with mace designed for humans, than get the home defense foggers.

Thatt spray you have is not the right ones to carry, the flip top models are the way to go and you can get 12+ feet, the ones that we carry has a 15 - 17 foot reach! with a splatter stream!

And if the mere show of the gun doesn't deter the attacker, lethal force is your last option unless you feel like being generous and making it to where only the first shot is rubber and the rest lethal, giving the perp a painful warning.

I think the Tiberius has it's purpose at a certain range, say 25ft+... But closer than that, you're best off with some high strength mace and maybe some hard knuckle gloves

Having been pepper sprayed I can tell you that it can be fought through. If you are determined you can even see quite well. It may work on some crackhead you surprise in your backyard but I wouldn’t trust my life on it.

The Sabre home defense can fill up a whole room full of thick pepper fog that will really f***k you up. I can take small girly pepper sprays that lock around your car keys, but the massive sabre spray will make you get on your knees and beg for mercy (im not kidding).

Forgot to add : the red stuff is "breaker balls', 6.2 grams max, but most of them are 6 grams and about depending on your batch. Sometimes I even get some 5.7 grams too. The black stuff is 3.9g hard rubber, and the grey is 3g PVC. To break glass windows or anything glass, those 3g pvc work the best and cheapest. 3.9g are nice practice rounds and for impact and less lethal (won't kill), but the breaker balls are lethal if you use it at the max power tuned up T8.1, they can kill someone if you place a wrong shot. So they are more like "next to lethal" options.

I carry defense technologies oc/cs 1.5 oz spray everyday. Tested it on a tree the first day and the tiny blowback messed me up for 45 minutes. I can’t imagine getting dowsed in the face and not having a water hose nearby
Not only carry the saber red daily had a nice custom case made for it. I've used it twice and it actually sprays a fair bit farther then 6 feet as both my encounters were at a truck a half to two truck legths. Both armed attackers hit the ground screaming as I left.

T8.1 FirstStrike with a Screw in will penetrade the big cans. FirstStrike & Breakerballs are great on hart things as glas or heads, but a thick coat take a lot of there energy off, thats why they can shoot them in there good pillows. Someone with arms rised up can run quick into you from 5 meters, so the three shots you get in that case i would use with strong pepperballs or combined, cause they do there job, and without you in jail. And in US, man you´re legal on real guns, so your opponent too, dont play with an intruder.

I wouldn't mess with the barrel on the marker. Damaging it in anyway can make the shot inaccurate or cause problems with internals later down the road.

not bad for non-lethal self defense but one thing I would recommend to anyone is to carry a knife too. Either a fixed blade or folding thumb assist blade. I always carry a folding thumb assist 3 inch blade and a small pocket pistol. Of course if you want to go real old school just get a 2x4 and a nail.

I have a paintball gun too. But id rather choose a semi automatic co2 pellet gun with hollow point hunting pellets. Or even a flare gun or a bat. But...fuck all that i got a 20ga shotgun too as well as a marlin 60 22lr.

A pellet gun does not have the "stopping power" as the projectile is too tiny and it just shoots into the skin (if powerful and close range enough) and stings, but does not drop the man on the spot. A breakerball fired from a T8.1 tuned to max power can go at 30 joules and slam on your bones... break / crack your bones and you are done. One shot and you are down the ground, it's not something you even want to try. If you doubt it, try it yourself.... but yes, a BREAKER BALL dude, not a paintball, it's different! Paintball splash open on the spot and you don't feel that much, just like waterballoon vs a rock of the same size and weight.. think about physics

Why don't we just say a grenade will be the best option since it blows up the evidence too? LOL But dude, there are too many crappy laws such as what we have in Canada here, getting even an airgun that fires a bit too hard will require a FIREARM license (how bullshit?) but this T8.1 pistol fires at 30j and we are free to purchase without a license, it has the power you need to drop or kill whatever crap, good enough for most people for sure. Great instructoral video. Just know laws vary from state to state. In California pepper balls are illegal but kinetic rounds arent. That is because they want to charge the victim with batttery with substancial bodily harm. I live in a constitutional county but some will prosecute. Kenetic rounds are last resort for less than lethal suggest 10 percent oc stream first. That isnt illegal and effective. Then kinetic rounds as last resort then..

I recommend a real gun with rubber bullets. Pepper spray is good buy you need to think about how strong the wind is blowing and which direction if you are out side but if the person has a gun you need to react fast.
One of the best weapons I've ever seen for non-lethal self defense is the Salt gun. It shoots a pellet filled with chemicals at somebody and it explodes making a cloud of damaging chemicals that will temporarily hurt the intruder and the damage can last up to 50 minutes. It blinds them and screws up their lungs. Basically makes them shit their pants and know they've screwed up without getting a bullet hole in their chest.
SALT gun, as known as the TIPPMANN TIPX overpriced version, is maxed out even tuned - to 16 joules no matter what ammo you use. Compare to a T8.1 tuned up shooting 28-30 joules using breaker balls that crack your skull and drop you down in one shot, which one works? :) Pepperball's damage on the guy last 50mins, but contaminates your air conditioner's filter and air vents at home for weeks. Have fun breathing peppers. Breaker balls knock people down and the damage can last for their whole life, making them NEVER want to come again, or never can come again lol

I am not stupid, but if you actually think about it - the powerful shots can be used on the chest or tummy which means it has enough stopping power to drop a muscular guy down. If it is too weak, you will fear that it cannot drop the guy down in one shot. Another thing is - IF the situation escalates, at least you know you can just change your aim and go for the head IF needed. Same theory goes to a firearm, it's all about your shot placement and making the right move to draw or not to draw your gun out. Be it a 9mm or a 68 cal, it's the same. Now call me stupid or you are not thinking enough?
Chiinnature Yep, because when you just wake up in the middle of the night you'll be perfectly awake enough to shoot him right where it doesn't kill him. Yes, you are stupid. If you miss with the SALT gun it can still do damage because the bullets are meant to spread and cover a certain area. Also, even if they're shot in the stomach or whatever. That'd still have a possibility of killing them, and very high possibility. And if you shot them in the leg or something else that won't kill them, they could still shoot you with their weapon even when lying on the ground in pain. With the SALT gun, they'd be blinded, coughing, dizzy/nauseous, and possibly vomiting. All things that will definitely distract them from shooting you.
Hahahah, you think the SALT gun is really a SALT gun or what? You can fire the same projectiles (or hotter pepperballs) with ANY paintball markers, including this T8.1, or even some cheaper ones like the $100 Tippmann Cronus that I have reviewed. If you are so not confident about yourself handling a gun-or-weapon in the middle of the night, you might as well stick to using a flashlight for defense instead, beacuse the SALT gun might be also too salty for your hand, and gosh, there is a $100 Cronus if you just need to break pepper balls out, why bother with a scam re-brand product that is overpriced. Are you a promoter or part of the fan-club who is selling the salt gun online thinking that no one will know it's a TIPX? LOL Seriously, the TIPX is a nice pistol, but slapping a SALT name on it doesn't make it more delicious. If you fear yourself not having the skills to aim and shoot someone at night during a break-in, you can also use a T8.1 and put pepper or sugar or vinegar balls in it too, it's not the SALT gun that works, it's just the projectiles that matters. But as said, real life situation is different from what you think. Pepperballs don't work on some people who are used to strong smell and such - such as real drug addicts. I am talking about thugs who are high on coke dude, no matter you use what kind of pepperball, they get pissed, they will shoot you first before they cough, cuz you are not a police, and you don't have a SWAT team at your back backing you up, they will not fear to fire before coughing dude. Btw, why are you so not confident about yourself shooting at night? Even with the SALT gun, do you ever TRAIN yourself to do home defense? If you don't, you better just stick to using a phone, call 911 lol I have no problem shooting in the middle of the night, as I have trained and learned the skills myself - and upkeep it by routinely training... not training and want to "defend" your home? pepper spray has been beat. Far more often than tazers. You want less-than-lethal incapacitation targeting the eyes [some cases the fumes attack the respiratory system], get tear gas or something that has a similar effect to it. Otherwise your best bet at bear minimum is a taser. Though it's been beat before it's not often. The best option so far is rubber bullets or beanbags fired from a gun for less than lethal. However if the perp's on something, lethal is your best option.
Also 200 FPS? my spring pistol shoots more powerful than that at 375 and it's weak as hell!!

250 is easy to dodge and 300+ wont curve so much if you end up outdoors.
I'm assuming your using this for protection when your at home soo yea just get a paintball gun. Air tanks hold more air or you could get CO2 and you can load more ammo at once and you can put that thing and automatic or burst mode.
I used to play paintball a lot. getting hit with a paintball going 250fps hurts a little the first couple times then you get used to it. Still hurts but it's not gonna stop you. If you're wearing baggy clothes you might not even feel it, and idk but bad guys tend to wear baggy clothes. 275fps your gonna think twice about getting shot at close range(maybe 10-20ft is too close). I've never gotten hit by a rubber ball going 250fps but I'm sure it's gonna feel about the same maybe do about as much damage as a paintball round going 275fps(might leave a nice black and blue bruise).
Now talking about those pepperballs. I love that idea, especially if it makes a big cloud. You might also beable to shoot some on the wall to get a nice cloud of that stuff in the air. Breathing that stuff in or getting it in your eyes is gonna suck.
Anyone tying to rob you is gonna want to leave and their not gonna get far without being noticed. If the dude's wearing a mask it'll still mess with his eyes but I don't know about his breathing.

DeathPorky Yes, but by design, those things are made to kill/maim/cut, this is a tiny blunt spike with loads of weight in it, to make it an efficient bone breaking tool. Also, with a scalpel, you'd have to target something vital close to the skin, since it is so small, and not designed for killing... Also, a prison shank is nothing more than a sharpen spike, usually made out of the toothbrushes that prisoners get, which are pretty resilient, and long.

Actually Bear spray is not as effective on humans, you'll be better off with a regular pepper spray. the concentration of OC is alot lower in bear spray....just google bear spray vs pepper spray on humans and you will see many articles explaining. Only thing is that it shoots further and a wider range. It'll still probably incapacitate someone but regular pepper spray will do a better job at a lower cost and its not bulky to lug around. But If you want something that can shoot far like bear spray but with mace designed for humans, than get the home defense foggers.

Thatt spray you have is not the right ones to carry, the flip top models are the way to go and you can get 12+ feet, the ones that we carry has a 15 - 17 foot reach! with a splatter stream!

And if the mere show of the gun doesn't deter the attacker, lethal force is your last option unless you feel like being generous and making it to where only the first shot is rubber and the rest lethal, giving the perp a painful warning.
If someone breaks into your house with a gun...they are not concerned about your safety. They will NOT have non-lethal weapons or less than lethal bullets. They WILL kill you if it comes down to it. So stop acting like a liberal, and shoot to kill.
paintball is not for self defence... sorry. but the rest are good to go. baseball bat is by far better then a paint gun. even a super soaker with pepper juice would be better then a paint gun. i have tried the pepper balls, they work on tv, but in real life for some reason they suddenly lose there power... aka actors. it really isnt that powerful. pepper spray or bear mace is better. ok you have me at taser :D lol but i shake my head at paintball gun. i play with these its a toy. and like i said the pepper balls don't work very well. i have airsoft guns that shoot 525 fps and i still wont use it for self defence i would use a branch i pulled up off the ground before i went that rout. i think allot of home defenders are living in a fantasy. i have shot my self point blank with the tiberius pistol, my brother has one. but don't let me stop you good luck.
I think the Tiberius has it's purpose at a certain range, say 25ft+... But closer than that, you're best off with some high strength mace and maybe some hard knuckle gloves

I forgot to add, police have KILLED people by accident with a 28 joules FN303 using break-on-impact rounds by FN for "less" lethal purpose and "accidentally" that round have killed a person, how can a solid 6.2 gram ball not kill ya if aimed to your head, I wonder. It might not be a quick death, but definitely painful death with bone broken. Paintball gun?...Nope..Pepper spray may slow someone down. Bear spray can be ILLEGAL to use on someone in certain states. Taser may slow someone down....These are all "Slow your enemy down options at best"...Find a legal knife to carry and go with that any day over ANYTHING you have shown.....For women the taser or pepper spray may help. If your a man...carry a knife............
