Most of my embroidery in the past has been put on tea towels and other items that I actually use daily so having neat backs is a must for long-term use (we are talking decades here). I'm not as particular about a decorative piece that will hang on the wall.
I used to be okay with a messy back but I'm more mindful because I really don't like wasting thread, if I can help it! I'm still moderately messy, definitely could never call my work the same on the front as the back.
Yessss nuance. I am also camp “sometimes” mostly leaning towards things not being too bulky or stitches coming loose. Within reason
How do you secure the backing (fabric or paper) to your project? Thank you!!
I usually use hot glue or make a running stitch! I have a couple tutorials on my channel!

How do you conceal back with a tea towel project?
@@boonagriculturewithapurpose I personally wouldn’t, but I’d just make sure the back stitches are as neat as possible!

Yes that’s so true! Very good point about wasting the thread!
If i use an away knot, would it hold win the dryer and washer or would it come apart
I usually do a sewing finishing knot for all of my tails of thread for clothing. You could try it, but I always knot for extra security!
@@crewelghoul thank you!
My mother's fancy work was so neat both sides couldn't tell which side was which
That’s amazing! I admire that skill!
@@crewelghoul Mum believed it wasn't very good at all.
