I just start to discover the Boulanger sisters, not even scratched the surface yet. I have the feeling they both were way ahead of their time. Lili's music is fantastic. What a great loss indeed...

I truly believe that had Lili Boulanger lived another ten years, she would now be considered one of the greatest composers of all time.

I heartily agree with you, she was such a great composer! theaderks.wordpress.com/2017/11/06/du-fond-de-labime-lili-boulanger-heartrending-plea-for-a-glimmer-of-light/

Dear Philip, you are absolutely right, but in my very humble opinion she already is considered it from them who know her music. Just otherwordly...

Fantastic perform. Such great heights and dark lows in a single piece. Inspirational to all composers including myself.

Powerful and beautiful. Only just discovered Lili Boulanger, and mourn her early death when thinking of what she could have composed during a long life.

Fantastic interpretation of a great masterpiece! We are proud that this marvellous ensemble worked with our new edition and that we could revise the material together with its director. If you are interested in the score, piano reduction, orchestra materiel, have a look on inter-note music publishing company

It breaks my heart that she died so young, what a talented composer, and a female composer at that. It is so rare to find female composers that rival the males, for whatever reason, but Lili is certainly one of the greats. For her to die so young is a great loss.

Isto é lindo demais! Quanta inteligência, quanta harmonia e pureza. Quanta sabedoria. Isto é uma obra séria. Agradeço ser sábio e decifrar, conseguir enxergar e sentir isto profundamente. Isto é uma obra séria!

The staircase to heaven is inside your heart; you enter through the door of your soul. Our whole life is but an attempt to find this miraculous entrance. All our deeds are but a timid knocking on this mysterious door and all our hopes are to hear a voice that would respond, 'Come In!' 🎶🌅

I think Jerry Goldsmith may have used this as inspiration to his score for The Omen

    Dòmine, exàudi vocem meam.
    Fiant àures tue intendèntes
    in vocem deprecatiònis meæ.
    Si iniquitàtes observàveris, Dòmine,
    Dòmine, volevi sustinèbit?
    Quia apud te propitiàtio est
et propter legem tuam sustìnui te, Dòmine.
Sustìnuit ànima mea in verbo ejus,
    speravid soul mea in Domino.
A custòdia matutìna usque ad noctem,
    speret Ìsraël a Dòmino,
    whoa apud Domino misericordia,
    e apud eum redèmptio.
E ipse rèdimet ex'imnibus iniquitàtibus ejus.
