Nemrut ( Arsamiea ) Dağı Zirvesine doğru olan yolculuğumuzu sizler için çektim. Yol üzerinde Cendere Köprüsü ve Kahta Kalesini de görmüş olduk.
Volkanik bir dağ olan Nemrut, hem bir doğal anıt hem de insan eliyle şekillendirmiş bir tarihi eser olarak 1987 yılında UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi’ne alındı. Toros Dağları silsilesinin tepelerinden biri olan Nemrut Dağı, Türkiye’de faaliyete geçebilecek olan en riskli yanardağlar arasında sayılıyor.
Nemrut Dağı’nın yüksekliği 2150 metre. MÖ 1. yy civarlarında burada hüküm süren Kommagene Krallığı, günümüzde hala gizemlerini koruyan devasa heykellerle Nemrut Dağı’nı donatmış.
Adıyaman’ın Kahta ilçesinde bulunan Kayadibi Köyü’ne yakın bir konumda bulunan Nemrut Dağı, Adıyaman şehir merkezine yaklaşık olarak 87 kilometre uzaklıkta bulunuyor.
UNESCO Dünya Kültür Mirası Listesi’nde yer alan Nemrut Dağı, Kommagene Krallığı’ndan kalma harabeleri, heykelleri ve yazıtları ile tüm dünyanın ilgisini çekiyor.
Harabelerin keşfi, 1881 yılına tarihleniyor. Diyarbakır’da yürütülen yol çalışması çerçevesince bölgede yapılan keşif çalışmalarında görevli mühendis Karl Sester (Charles Sester), Kommagene Krallığı’ndan miras kalan eserlere ulaşmış; ama onların Asurlulara ait olduğunu düşünmüş.
Keşfin haberinin yayılmasının ardından Alman bir arkeolog olan Otto Punchtein , dönemin en ünlü bilim insanlarından Osman Hamdi Bey ile bölgede araştırmalar yapmak üzere Adıyaman’ın Kahta ilçesi üzerinden Nemrut Dağı’na gitmiş. Mühendis Sester’in ve 6 kişilik ekibin yardımı sayesinde bölgedeki çoğu kalıntı ve belge ortaya çıkarılmış.
Buluntular arasında bir tane Grekçe kitabe varmış. Bu kitabe sayesinde bölgenin tarihi hakkında çıkarımlar yapılabilmiş. Kitabede yazılan bilgilere göre buradaki eserler Kommagene Kralı I. Antiochos adıyla yapılmış. Kitabe sanki gelecekteki ziyaretçiler için hazırlanmış gibi heykeller hakkındaki çoğu detayı barındırıyormuş. Hangi tanrıların betimlendiği, Kommagene kraliyet ailesindeki önemli insanların isimleri…
Kısaca Kommagene Krallığı, arkasında bir kayıt defteri bırakmış. Günümüzde gizemini hala koruyan nokta ise dağın zirvesinde bu derece devasa heykellerin nasıl yapılmış olduğu… Arkeologlar, dağ üzerinde bulunan kireçtaşı bloklarının halihazırda orada şekillendirildiği konusunda hemfikir.

Nemrut, a volcanic mountain, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987 as both a natural monument and a man-made historical artifact. Mount Nemrut, one of the tops of the Taurus Mountains range, is considered to be among the riskiest volcanoes in Turkey to become active.

The height of Mount Nemrut is 2150 meters. The Kingdom of Commagene, which ruled here around the 1st century BC, decorated Mount Nemrut with gigantic statues that still preserve their mysteries today.
Nemrut Mountain, which is close to Kayadibi Village in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, is approximately 87 kilometers from Adıyaman city center.
Mount Nemrut, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, attracts the attention of the whole world with its ruins, statues and inscriptions from the Kingdom of Commagene.
The discovery of the ruins dates back to 1881. Engineer Karl Sester (Charles Sester), who was in charge of the exploration works carried out in the region within the framework of the roadworks carried out in Diyarbakır, reached the artifacts inherited from the Kingdom of Commagene; but he thought they belonged to the Assyrians.
After the news of the discovery spread, Otto Punchtein, a German archaeologist, went to Mount Nemrut via the Kahta district of Adıyaman to conduct research in the region with Osman Hamdi Bey, one of the most famous scientists of the time. With the help of Engineer Sester and his team of 6, most of the remains and documents in the area were unearthed.
Among the finds was a Greek inscription. Thanks to this inscription, inferences can be made about the history of the region. According to the information written in the inscription, the works here were made under the name of Antiochos I, King of Commagene. The inscription contains most of the details about the statues, as if they were prepared for future visitors. The Kingdom of Commagene left a logbook behind. The point that still preserves its mystery today is how such gigantic statues were made on the summit of the mountain.
